Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept, practice, and impact of diversity in Islamic organizational culture through a qualitative approach using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The study was conducted on 15 articles selected using the PRISMA model from journals indexed by Sinta, Scopus, Springer, and international publishers for the period 2018–2026. The results show that conceptually, diversity in Islamic organizations has not been fully integrated with modern management theory, even though Islamic values have become a strong normative foundation. In practice, diversity is implemented through inclusive recruitment, human resource development based on Islamic values, inclusive leadership, and communication and conflict management that prioritizes deliberation. Diversity also has a positive impact on improving organizational performance, innovation, and social relations, although it has the potential to give rise to conflict if not managed effectively. These findings emphasize the importance of Islamic organizational culture as an integrative mechanism and the need to develop a conceptual model that combines Islamic values and modern diversity theory to support inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable organizations.

Abstract

The  development of the Islamic banking industry in Indonesia is currently dominated by a formal sharia compliance approach on the legality of contracts, but has not been fully and systematically integrated with the substantive values of maqashid sharia. This study aims to identify the types and characteristics of Islamic banking products, examine the principles of maqashid sharia as a foundation for product development, and analyze the implementation of maqashid sharia within the operational schemes of Islamic banking products. Utilizing a qualitative approach with a library research method and content analysis technique, data were gathered from various academic literatures, regulations, and authoritative fatwas. The results indicate that Islamic banking products—categorized into funding, financing, and financial services—have implemented the five core pillars of preservation (al-kulliyat al-khamsah). This actualization is reflected in: (1) hifdz al-din through the elimination of riba, gharar, maysir, and the integration of ZISWAF; (2) hifdz al-nafs through the mutualism principle in contracts and sharia insurance risk mitigation; (3) hifdz al-’aql through product information disclosure and financial education; (4) hifdz al-nasl through the provision of future family financial planning products; and (5) hifdz al-mal through optimizing intermediation functions in halal real sectors and accountable risk management. This study concludes that maqashid sharia parameters must be established as primary indicators for product achievement and evaluation to realize sustainable welfare (maslahah) and distributive justice substantively for society.

Abstract

The flash floods that struck North Sumatra in late 2025 caused significant social, economic, and ecological losses and raised questions about the responsibility of those contributing to environmental degradation in upstream areas. This event is viewed not only as a natural disaster but also as a form of ecological sin resulting from the exploitation of natural resources beyond the ecosystem's carrying capacity. This study aims to analyze the concept of ecological sin from an environmental law perspective and examine the application of strictness to corporations suspected of contributing to the flash floods. The method used is normative legal research, utilizing regulatory approaches, conceptualization, and case studies through a literature review. The results indicate that watershed damage due to deforestation, land conversion, and extractive industry activities increases the risk of hydrometeorological disasters. The principle of strict liability provides a strong legal basis for holding corporations accountable without proof of fault, in order to achieve ecological justice, environmental restoration, and protection of affected communities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of PT. Toba Pulp Lestari Tbk's extractive industry activities on the environment, society, and natural resource governance in Indonesia. The method used is a qualitative case study approach through descriptive analysis of secondary data derived from company reports, government documents, scientific journals, and related literature. The results indicate that industrial forest plantation (HTI) management and pulp production contribute to the economy through job creation, increased industrial activity, and meeting the need for paper raw materials. However, these activities also pose various challenges, such as ecosystem changes due to eucalyptus monoculture, potential biodiversity decline, agrarian conflicts with local and indigenous communities, and criticism of transparency and corporate governance. These conditions reflect the tension between economic interests and environmental sustainability and social justice. Therefore, strengthening governance, increasing transparency, effective government oversight, and implementing sustainable natural resource management are needed.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the meaning of usury in the hadith to ensure its relevance to modern economic developments by comparing the views of classical and contemporary scholars. Usury is an important concept in Islamic economic law, expressly prohibited in the Qur'an and hadith. However, the emergence of modern banking systems and financial instruments has given rise to differing interpretations regarding the application of usury laws, particularly regarding bank interest. The study employed library research with a qualitative-descriptive approach. The results indicate that classical scholars tended to understand usury textually and applied analogy to transactions mentioned in the hadith. In contrast, contemporary scholars developed a more contextual approach, taking into account changes in the economic system and the needs of modern society. Despite differences in the application of the law to bank interest, both groups of scholars agree that the primary purpose of the prohibition of usury is to prevent exploitation, injustice, and economic oppression. Therefore, a reconstruction of the understanding of usury is necessary to maintain sharia principles and address contemporary economic challenges

Abstract

This livestock business is capable of producing thousands of chickens per harvest with a 30–35-day rearing cycle. However, the farm faces various risks, particularly related to fluctuating chicken mortality rates from the DOC period to harvest. The main contributing factors are suboptimal cage conditions, extreme weather, and chicken stress. The objective was to analyze the various risks that affect broiler chicken productivity. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and document review. The results identified six types of risks. Three risks are categorized as high, namely poor cage hygiene, chicken mortality that can spread viruses, and uneven chicken growth. Two risks are categorized as medium, namely disturbances from predators and extreme weather. Meanwhile, one risk is categorized as low, namely unpleasant odor. This study is expected to serve as a reference in minimizing livestock risks. Recommendations provided include maintaining cage cleanliness regularly, providing balanced nutritional feed, improving biosecurity systems, and anticipating extreme weather and pest animals. By implementing these strategies, it is hoped that livestock productivity can increase and risks can be minimized.
