Abstract

The era of Industry 4.0 has brought significant changes to international administrative systems, marked by the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI), big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and various other digital technologies in governmental processes and global organizational management. This study aims to explain how countries and multinational corporations adapt to this digital transformation and to assess their readiness in implementing it. Using a descriptive approach supported by literature analysis and case studies, the findings reveal that developed countries adopt digital technologies more rapidly and have reached a more stable operational level, while many developing countries remain in the early stages, facing challenges such as limited digital infrastructure and underdeveloped regulations. These differences in readiness directly influence the effectiveness of cross-border administration as well as the strategies of global companies in expanding their international reach. The study highlights that the digital readiness gap among nations remains a major challenge in establishing efficient, inclusive, and adaptive international governance in the Industry 4.0 era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of payment gateways, human capital, and entrepreneurial orientation on the financial performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Pekanbaru City, Riau. The study employed a quantitative approach using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 MSME owners selected through a multistage area sampling technique. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that payment gateways have a positive effect on MSMEs' financial performance by improving transaction efficiency and convenience. Human capital also has a positive effect, suggesting that the knowledge, skills, and experience of business owners contribute significantly to business success. In addition, entrepreneurial orientation positively affects financial performance through innovation, proactiveness, and risk-taking behavior. Simultaneously, these three variables contribute to improving the financial performance of MSMEs in Pekanbaru City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of customer experience, service quality, and price discounts on the loyalty of Indomaret consumers in Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency. The study employs a quantitative approach with a survey design. A sample of 100 consumers was selected using the accidental sampling technique, with the sample size determined by Cochran's formula for populations of unknown size. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach via SmartPLS software version 4.1.1.2. Outer model test results indicate that all indicators meet the criteria for convergent validity, discriminant validity, and reliability. Inner model test results show an R-square value of 0.667 for consumer loyalty and a good model fit (SRMR = 0.079). Hypothesis testing results reveal that customer experience (β = 0.360; t = 3.853; p = 0.000), service quality (β = 0.250; t = 2.139; p = 0.033), and price discounts (β = 0.305; t = 3.417; p = 0.001) each have a positive and significant effect on consumer loyalty, with customer experience exerting the greatest influence. These findings reinforce the application of Expectation-Confirmation Theory in the modern retail context and offer practical implications for Indomaret in strengthening its customer relationship strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of price and brand image on mobile phone purchasing decisions among users in West Aceh Regency. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 270 respondents determined using the Isaac and Michael formula with a 10% margin of error and a multistage random sampling technique. Data were collected through direct distribution of questionnaires and, for the remainder, via Google Forms, targeting mobile phone users in West Aceh Regency. All data were processed and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3 software. The results indicate that: (1) price has a positive and significant effect on mobile phone purchase decisions, with a T-statistic of 7.183 and a P-value of 0.000; (2) brand image also has a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions, with a T-statistic of 8.373 and a P-value of 0.000. Simultaneously, both variables explain 40.0% of the variance in purchase decisions (R² = 0.400). These findings confirm that consumer perceptions of competitive pricing and positive brand image are important factors in driving mobile phone purchase decisions in West Aceh Regency.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has made it easier for students to access information and stock investment platforms, thereby increasing their opportunities to participate in the capital market. However, differences remain in the level of investment knowledge, which influences students’ interest in starting to invest. This study aims to analyze the role of stock investment knowledge toward students’ investment interest in the digital era. The research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through interviews with students who have an interest in stock investing, supported by document analysis. The data were then analyzed descriptively to identify the relationship between investment knowledge and students’ investment interest. The results show that better investment knowledge increases students’ interest in stock investing. Easy access to information, the use of digital investment platforms, and education through social media also help boost students’ interest in investing. Nevertheless, low financial literacy, FOMO behavior, and a lack of discipline remain challenges that affect investment decision-making. Investment knowledge plays a vital role in increasing students’ investment interest in the digital era. These findings indicate that efforts to improve financial literacy and investment education through educational institutions, the capital market.

Abstract

The dynamics of the contemporary business landscape require corporations to adopt adaptive communication mechanisms to maintain legitimacy and public trust. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of disclosing diversity and sustainability programs—via Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)—against environmental crisis management during the process of corporate image restructuring. The research employs a qualitative case study design supplemented by a quantitative survey of 300 stakeholders across five industrial sectors: energy, manufacturing, FMCG, banking, and logistics. The results indicate that consistent CSR disclosure boosts public trust scores by 34.2% and restores corporate image by 19.4 points. In contrast, reactive crisis mitigation strategies yield a recovery of only 11.5%. These findings reinforce perspectives from Stakeholder Theory and Corporate Reputation Theory, demonstrating that CSR serves as a strategic reputational asset capable of building trust, strengthening legitimacy, and mitigating negative impacts when companies face environmental crises.

Abstract

The processing of coconut sap into coconut sugar is the main home industry for the farming community in Rumbai Jaya Village, Kempas District. However, coconut sugar artisans face a lack of distribution infrastructure, limited market information, and a weak bargaining position (as price takers), resulting in significant price disparities between the producer level and the end consumer. This study aims to analyze the market institutions, channels, functions, and structure of the coconut sugar market, as well as to analyze marketing costs, margins, profits, farmer’s share, and marketing efficiency in Rumbai Jaya Village. This study utilized a survey method with a purposive sampling approach involving 7 active coconut sugar artisan businesses. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods through cost-margin analysis. The results showed that there are two coconut sugar marketing channel patterns: Channel I (artisans, retailers, end consumers) and Channel II (artisans, collectors, wholesalers, retailers, end consumers). The total marketing cost for Channel I was IDR 1,800/kg with a margin of IDR 5,000/kg and a profit of IDR 3,200/kg. In Channel II, the total marketing cost reached IDR 4,000/kg with a margin of IDR 7,000/kg and a profit of IDR 2,600/kg. Both marketing channels are considered efficient because their marketing efficiency values are < 100%, specifically 6.43% for channel I and 14.67% for channel II. Channel I is the most efficient channel, offering the highest farmer’s share of 82.14%, compared to channel II at 76.67%.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the digital economy requires Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to enhance their digital financial management capabilities to remain competitive and sustainable. However, most MSMEs in Kupang Berkah Jaya Village still face limitations regarding digital financial literacy, particularly in financial record-keeping, cash flow management, and the use of cashless payment systems. Consequently, their financial management practices remain conventional and inefficient. This community service program aims to improve the digital financial literacy of MSMEs and encourage the adoption of QRIS-based cashless payments through a participatory approach. The program employed Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving participants in problem identification, implementation, reflection, and evaluation. Twenty MSME owners participated in digital financial literacy training, practical sessions on digital bookkeeping applications, QRIS implementation training, and business mentoring. The results demonstrated an improvement in financial management competence, evidenced by an increase in average pre-test and post-test scores from 55.4 to 83.6. Eighty percent of participants began using digital bookkeeping applications, while cashless transactions rose from 10% to 40%. Furthermore, participants exhibited positive changes, such as more systematic financial record-keeping, the separation of personal and business finances, and heightened awareness regarding effective financial management. These findings indicate that a participatory approach effectively supports the digital transformation of MSMEs, thereby strengthening the business capacity of rural communities in a sustainable and inclusive manner.
