In video transmission, there is a possibility of packet lost an d a large load variation on the bandwidth. These are the source of network congestion, which can interfere the communication data rate. This study discusses a system to overcome the congestion with Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) scalability-based approach, for the video sequence encoding method into two layers, which is a solution to decrease encoding mode for each packet and channel coding rate. The goal is to minimize any distortion from the source to the destination. The coding system used is a video coding standards that is MPEG-2 or H.263 with SNR scalability. The algorithm used for motion compensation, temporal redundancy and spatial redundancy is the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and quantization. The transmission error is simulated by adding Gaussian noise (error) on motion vectors. From the simulation results, the SNR and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) in the noisy video frames decline with averages of 3dB and 4dB respectively.

Indonesia is an archipelago country with more than 70% of its territory consisting of water. Due to these geographical conditions, many Indonesian people rely on water transportation as a means of crossing transportation. However, many of the crossings in Indonesia still use a manual control system in determining the direction of the boat. In this study, a prototype control and tracking system designed for a boat engine can be used as an automatic control system (autopilot) in water transportation. This system is created using a waypoint control system that can navigate automatically to a predetermined location. This control system is designed with an electric control system that utilizes a microcontroller, GPS (Global Positioning System) module, and compass module as a navigation control device. From the test results, it can be concluded that the level of accuracy of the GPS coordinates reading is as far as 4.8 meters and based on the test of the waypoint navigation system , the system accuracy level is 10.8 meters.

The Robot is a technology that can help human to do daily activities. One type of robot is an arm robot, arm robot can work automatically, manually, and a combination of both. Some techniques that can be used to give commands to the robot are to use hand and finger gestures, to do the techniques can utilize the vision machine. One of the advantages of using a vision machine is that it does not require many electronic components to recognize hand and finger gestures. The focus of this research is to implement a camera to recognize the operator’s finger gestures so that the gesture can give commands to the robot. The camera captures the image of operator's finger, the image is a process inside the computer to obtain the pixel coordinate parameters of the index fingertip and right lower pixel of the image, and then the angle obtained from both coordinates using trigonometric equations. The result is that the robot can follow the movement of the finger when the angle between 30° to 150°.

Photovoltaic (PV) systems can be connected to the utility grid to ensure the reliability and continuity of the electrical energy supply. Although the output of the PV modules and many electrical loads are direct current (DC), most grid connected PV systems use alternating current (AC) grid through the inverter. This study presents an analysis of DC microgrid PV system connected to PLN utility grid using controlled rectifier. The controlled rectifier circuit uses a thyristor which can be controlled at its ignition angle to regulate the output voltage and current supplied from utility. The proposed PV system configuration simulations are performed using PSIM software. The system supplies resistive loads in the form of DC lights. Simulations are carried out with variations in load resistance and the thytistor ignition angle. The simulation results show the rectifier circuit has a voltage ripple of 1.57 V (6.47%). While the efficiency of the system under various loading conditions and ignition angle varies between 95.08%–97.72%. The highest system efficiency is obtained under high thyristor ignition conditions.

The stem rot disease caused by the Ganoderma boninense is a type of disease that is deadly to oil palm plants and can cause a significant reduction in oil palm productivity. Difficulty in detecting disease infected oil palm plants is cause of the high risk of plan death due to the condition and risk of oil palm plants being affected by disease as early as possible. The system used is Long Range (LoRa) technology which utilizes radio frequencies as signal transmission between transmitter and receiver devices. The transmitter device is equipped with TGS 2611, MQ-138, MS1100 and TGS822 sensors as a tool for detecting ganoderma disease and is also equipped with a GPS sensor which functions to map trees affected by the disease. Meanwhile, the receiver as the recipient of the data that has been sent by the transmitter via LoRa will be forwarded to BIynk Apps via the internet network, thus forming an IoT (Internet of Things) system. This technology helps monitor oil palm plantations more efficiently because it can be monitored in real time on a smartphone application. The research results show that the four sensors can detect levels of volatile organic compounds (VOC) from ganoderma fungi with three classification; healthy, moderate and sick.

Technical shrinkage is shrinkage caused by impedance in generation equipment or transmission equipment to the distribution network so that there is energy loss. There are several technical shrinkage problems at PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) especially in Customer Service Unit (ULP) Lhokseumawe City and for now the cause is still unsolved, because this technical shrinkage problem will harm and have an impact on consumers and PLN itself. The purpose of the study was to optimize technical shrinkage in the distribution network to reduce energy losses that occurred during the electrical power distribution process in the distribution network of PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Lhokseumawe City. This study uses the help of Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP) software to simulate the power flow so that the depreciation value that occurs is obtained, then re-load adjustment is carried out to simulate again to determine the change in the depreciation value obtained after load adjustment. The results of the ETAP simulation show the depreciation value that occurred before the load adjustment was made by 76.7 kW after the depreciation load adjustment was adjusted to 59.6 kW. This means that this technical shrinkage can be suppressed by changing the feeder operation pattern and voltage drop value in accordance with the limitation provisions set in SPLN 72:1987.

Hydroponics is a method of cultivation that does not use soil as a medium, allowing it to be applied in limited spaces such as urban households. One of the vegetable plants that can be grown using hydroponics is pak choy (Brassica rapa subsp. chinensis). To produce healthy pak choy plants that can efficiently absorb nutrients in a hydroponic system, several factors need to be considered, such as the level of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in the nutrient solution, nutrient solution temperature, and air humidity in the hydroponic environment. The ideal nutrient solution temperature for hydroponic plants falls within the range of 25-27C. In this system, a monitoring and control system will be designed to optimize the growth of pak choy plants in a Deep Flow Technique (DFT) hydroponic system. In this system, the nutrient solution temperature will be controlled with a set point of 25C using an on/off control for a peltier device. To maintain the TDS level at a set point of 1200 ppm in the nutrient solution, fuzzy logic control will be employed, generating timer-based control signals for the nutrient pump A, nutrient pump B, and water pump. The monitoring system will be displayed on an Internet of Things (IoT) dashboard platform, such as ThingSpeak.

This study aims to build a device as a security system to detect anomalies of children moving in play areas based on the Multiple Line Detection (MLD) method in a streaming image. We developed this device to help parents monitor their children's activities when playing in dangerous areas of the home to protect children from kidnapping. In this study, the MLD method can detect the children's activities when playing in three zones: the safe zone with green lines in the image, the caution zone with yellow lines, and the danger zone with red lines. The hardware used to build the devices in this study consists of three components: a camera to stream the image activities of children, a Raspberry Pi to process the image using OpenCV, and a buzzer for early security systems. The results of this study show that when the device detected the children playing in the safe zone, the system commanded the buzzer to turn off. Furthermore, when the camera detects that the children are playing in the caution and danger zone, the device then commands the buzzer to turn on as an early warning security system for the parents.

As a vital component of cultural identity, language is under pressure as a result of globalization. This article discusses the creation of a website that provides a dictionary of Javanese phrases to help preserve and revitalize the language. In this study, we collect, categorize, and display Javanese words on electronic resources. In addition, the system usability scale (SUS) was used to conduct usability tests on the investigated websites to determine how user-friendly they actually were. Gathering terms from multiple sources, categorizing them, and developing a user-friendly interface with a search bar are all steps in the process of making a website. Users from all walks of life fill out the SUS questionnaire as part of the usability testing process. The test results reveal how well the website satisfies its users' requirements. Creating a database of Javanese words online and putting it through the SUS test is a great example of how technology can be used to help preserve a language and its heritage. It is believed that by taking this step, more people will become familiar with the Javanese language and become invested in its continued existence in the modern world. The usability testing results demonstrate that the development strategy and interface design effectively fostered a positive user experience. High scores on the SUS questionnaire, with an average rating of 80.25, indicate that users find the website satisfactory and user-friendly.
