Abstract

Paradise film (2023) by Boris Kunz presents a dystopian premise of longevity in which “chrono-transfer” enables people to trade for their life years. Rich people can buy youth while poor people sell their life years as a means of survival. This article examines the film using Foucault’s biopower framework, focusing on how chrono-transfer technology represents the privatization of life and body control in liberal capitalism. Through qualitative analysis of essential scenes and dialogs such as Elena’s contract, Elena’s body transformation, and bio-hierarchy dialogs, this article explains its two main findings. The first finding is that anatomo-politics operates within Elena’s body through contract mechanisms, instantaneous body transformation, and self-surveillance. The second finding is that the chrono-transfer system produces population biopolitics in which longevity is unequally distributed, reflecting “state racism”.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of herding behavior, heuristic behavior, disposition effect, and attitudes on risk on investment decisions in the stock market. This study uses a quantitative approach with a non-probability sampling technique through a purposive sampling method. The population in this study is individual stock investors in Indonesia whose exact number is unknown. The sample used was 101 respondents. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires. The data analysis method used was multiple linear regression with t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination test. The results show that herding behavior has a significant positive effect on investment decisions, heuristic behavior has a significant negative effect on investment decisions, disposition effect has no significant effect on investment decisions, while attitudes on risk have a significant positive effect on investment decisions. The coefficient of determination value indicates that a relatively large variation in investment decisions is explained by the variables analyzed in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning of student criticism in digital spaces as a source of quality data, the implementation of digital tabayyun ethics in conflict resolution, and transformational leadership practices in restoring a culture of learning quality. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical case study design with an insider research scheme, this study positions the researcher as the main instrument and the Vice Principal for Quality Management at SMK Negeri 1 Pedan in 2025. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and digital documentation, which were then analyzed using the circular model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The results of the study show three essential findings. First, student criticism and insults in private WhatsApp Group spaces are organic indicators of learning discomfort rooted in five formal learning anomalies. Second, transformational leadership in quality management supported by the Principal successfully mitigated relational conflicts through the orchestration of cross-sectoral digital tabayyun (Homeroom Teachers and Guidance Counselors) that was humanistic and persuasive, thereby fostering students' ethical awareness without a rigid punitive approach. Third, the restoration of a culture of quality was institutionalized through In-House Training (IHT) "Serving with Heart" and the reconstruction of three adaptive feedback channels (direct dialogue, suggestion boxes, and private communication channels). This policy intervention successfully thawed the teacher-student power relationship, increased educators' reflective capacity, and restored students' learning comfort in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The escalation of geopolitical conflict in the Middle East region and fluctuations in global crude oil prices pose significant systemic challenges to Indonesia's macroeconomic stability and fiscal resilience. As a net oil importer, Indonesia is highly vulnerable to global energy price fluctuations, often triggered by disruptions to strategic distribution channels, such as the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz. This study aims to analyze the impact of Middle Eastern geopolitical conflicts on the Indonesian State Budget (APBN) that have led to rising oil prices.Through a systematic literature review, it was found that the surge in world oil prices triggered a domino effect in the form of an increase in the domestic inflation rate, a weakening of the Rupiah exchange rate, and an increase in interest rates in the short to medium term.On the fiscal side, despite additional revenue from the oil and gas sector, the burden of energy subsidy and compensation spending has increased significantly, resulting in a widening budget deficit and pressure on the primary balance. The literature used shows that every USD 1 per barrel increase in oil prices can increase the net fiscal deficit because government spending to protect people's purchasing power exceeds the windfall revenue received. As a mitigation strategy, the government needs to reallocate the budget to non-flexible strategic projects, implement more selective and targeted energy subsidies, and accelerate the transition to renewable energy to reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels in the future.

Abstract

The digital technological shift in the Society 5.0 era demands that lecturers transform from conventional teachers to adaptive facilitators, innovators, and mentors. The reality on the ground demonstrates structural barriers in the form of low digital literacy, limited regular training, and minimal institutional support, creating a gap between contemporary ideals and actual lecture implementation. This research aims to explore tactical formulations for boosting lecturers' digital competency to anticipate changes in higher education. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive approach based on theories of digital pedagogy, lifelong learning, and technology-based professional development. Using purposive sampling, lecturers and campus management were identified as key informants. Data was collected comprehensively through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The authenticity of the findings was ensured through data validity testing through source and technique triangulation. Research findings prove that increasing lecturer professionalism is realized through intensive technology training, strengthening virtual academic communities, stimulating internal motivation, and optimizing digital infrastructure.. More than just technical improvements, this transformation demands a reform of mindsets, a reconstruction of academic culture, and the mental readiness of educators to create an interactive, flexible, and student-centered learning atmosphere. Improving the quality of the higher education ecosystem in the modern era depends heavily on the synergy of educator mental readiness and technological facilitation. Consequently, higher education management is recommended to design lecturer development programs that are sustainable, humanistic, collaborative, and responsive to the dynamics of pedagogical technology.

Abstract

Higher education institutions currently face global turbulence caused by demographic shifts, economic instability, regulatory policies, and digital technology disruption. This study aims to formulate the institution's strategic position in anticipating external challenges through an outside-in strategic management approach. The method used is descriptive analysis through a comprehensive literature review, integrating secondary data from contemporary management literature. Data evaluation is systematically processed using three main instruments: Porter's Five Forces Model, the External Factor Evaluation (EFE) Matrix, and the Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM). The external audit results indicate the presence of ten actionable variables, with the threat of substitute products such as non-degree certification and declining new student input being the most destructive challenges to the traditional education model. Based on the quantitative analysis, the institution obtained a total EFE score of 2.51. This figure indicates that the institution's strategic response is in the average category; the current strategy is quite effective in exploiting opportunities but remains vulnerable to external competitors. Meanwhile, the CPM analysis confirms that despite advantages in tuition fees and location, institutions lag significantly behind their main competitors in terms of the quality of their digital facilities. The study concludes that institutions can no longer rely solely on internal operational efficiency. Managers and educators are required to immediately move beyond their routine operational comfort zones, fundamentally reposition their values, and aggressively accelerate digital transformation. Aligning internal capacity with external dynamics is an absolute prerequisite for maintaining relevance and achieving sustainable competitive advantage.

Abstract

The limited fiscal capacity of regions to support the surge in infrastructure needs in peri-urban areas demands a policy reorientation toward non-conventional funding models. This qualitative research with a descriptive-analytical case study design aims to in-depth analyze the collaboration model between the Bogor Regency Government and the private sector through a creative financing scheme to accelerate regional infrastructure development. Primary data was collected through in-depth, semi-structured interviews with key informants from Bappedalitbang, the Public Works and Housing Agency (PUPR), the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD), and a consortium of private partners. These were then triangulated with official policy documents and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The results show that the creative financing scheme effectively closes the regional budget deficit (funding gap) by leveraging the value of public assets and rationally sharing investment risks without burdening the regional debt balance. The success of this ecosystem is largely determined by the quality of local collaborative governance, where the institutionalization of the Creative Financing Acceleration Team and the involvement of a national guarantee institution are able to reduce bureaucratic obstacles and erode the risk-averse behavior of regional officials due to fear of policy criminalization. This research introduces a novel concept called managed asymmetry, which emphasizes the importance of knowledge transfer from the private sector to compensate for the limited technical competence of civil servants. Practically, this research formulates a blueprint for strengthening regional institutional capacity, leading to the role of civil servants as reliable contract managers. In conclusion, the synergy of local legal certainty, transparent risk mitigation, and political commitment of regional leadership is the main foundation for accountable and sustainable subnational infrastructure acceleration.

Abstract

This study investigates grammatical errors produced by EFL learners during oral academic presentations by applying the Surface Strategy Taxonomy proposed by Heidi Dulay, Marina Burt, and Stephen Krashen (1982). The objectives of this research are to identify the types of grammatical errors found in students’ academic presentations, analyze the possible sources of the errors, and determine the most frequently occurring grammatical error type. This study employed a descriptive qualitative research design. The participants of this study were 20 third-semester students of the English Department at Universitas Pamulang. The data were collected through video recordings of students’ oral academic presentations and were analyzed using the framework of Error Analysis proposed by Stephen Pit Corder (1967). The findings revealed that the students produced four types of grammatical errors based on the Surface Strategy Taxonomy, namely omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. A total of 94 grammatical errors were identified in the students’ presentations. Misformation errors were found to be the most dominant type with 39 occurrences (41.49%), followed by omission errors with 28 occurrences (29.79%), addition errors with 17 occurrences (18.09%), and misordering errors with 10 occurrences (10.63%). The study also revealed that the grammatical errors were mainly caused by interlingual interference and intralingual interference. Interlingual interference occurred because students transferred Indonesian grammatical patterns into English expressions, while intralingual interference resulted from incomplete understanding and overgeneralization of English grammatical rules. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that EFL learners still experience difficulties in applying correct grammatical structures during spontaneous oral academic communication. Therefore, greater emphasis on grammar application in speaking activities is necessary to improve students’ grammatical accuracy and academic speaking performance Keywords: Academic Presentation, Grammatical Errors Analysis, Surface Strategy Taxonomy

Abstract

In the digital era of 2026, mathematics remains a subject that triggers high levels of academic anxiety (math anxiety), while students’ attention spans continue to decline due to the dominance of social media. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of micro-learning strategies through short-form video content (60–90 seconds) as an instrument for reducing cognitive load and increasing student engagement in mathematics learning. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method on 20 selected scholarly sources published between 2021 and 2026, focusing on educational technology, cognitive psychology, and the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI). The analysis revealed that the atomization of mathematics materials into short-video formats significantly increased content completion rates up to 85% and reduced student stress levels through the provision of informal self-paced learning environments. The integration of AI-powered dynamic visualization and Math Hacks techniques proved effective as cognitive scaffolding that enhances students’ self-efficacy. This article concludes that the adaptation of concise and visual digital content is no longer merely an option but a pedagogical necessity to maintain the relevance of mathematics curricula in the post-digital era.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of forensic accounting and whistleblowing in uncovering fraud amidst high corruption challenges. Using a literature review approach, data was collected from 50 research articles. The results indicate that forensic accounting is effective in detecting and uncovering fraud through in-depth analysis, while whistleblowing serves as a crucial reporting mechanism for prevention and mitigation. The combination of these two approaches creates more comprehensive oversight, particularly in the public and banking sectors, in preventing fraud. This study also recommends further study to explore the influence of new technologies in forensic accounting.
