Abstract

This study examines the developing relationship between financial technology (fintech) and financial inclusion in emerging economies. The financial sector has undergone rapid transformation due to fintech, which offers cutting-edge digital solutions that extend financial services to previously unbanked or underserved communities. By systematically reviewing relevant literature, this study underscores the positive impact of fintech in reducing barriers to financial access, reducing transaction costs, and improving the availability of credit, payments, and savings tools in emerging economies. Fintech also plays a significant role in empowering marginalized groups, supporting micro-entrepreneurs, and fostering digital financial ecosystems. Although progress has been made, inclusive growth is still hindered by several obstacles, including fragmented regulatory frameworks, limited digital infrastructure, cybersecurity threats, and a general lack of financial literacy. The findings offer significant insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and technological developers aiming to utilize fintech to enhance long-term financial inclusion. This research adds to the expanding literature by situating fintech’s role in inclusive finance within the distinct economic and institutional frameworks of emerging markets, while also highlighting key areas for further study and policy action.

Abstract

The adoption of internal digital platforms has become increasingly essential amid the rapid digital transformation in the banking sector. However, many innovations fail due to low user acceptance, especially when employee readiness and organizational capacity are overlooked. In response to this challenge, this study investigates the key factors influencing the adoption of the new BRI Care application, a customer handling management system developed by PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Despite the platform’s potential to streamline complaint resolution, empirical research on internal user adoption remains limited. Addressing this gap, the study employs a literature review methodology grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model, Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology, and Diffusion of Innovation frameworks. The synthesis reveals that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are consistent predictors of adoption intention. Additionally, organizational support, user training, and system usability emerge as enabling factors, while positive user experience and effective complaint resolution reinforce sustained use. The findings offer strategic insight for aligning digital tools with user needs, ultimately enhancing service quality and operational efficiency.

Abstract

The fashion industry, particularly the fast fashion segment, significantly contributes to environmental degradation through excessive resource use and waste. This study examines how competitive pressure, green product innovation, and green process innovation influence sustainable firm performance among fashion Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in a region. Using the Natural Resource-Based View (NRBV) as a theoretical framework, the research highlights the strategic role of green innovation in building environmentally valuable, rare, inimitable, and non-substitutable (VRIN) capabilities. A quantitative method was employed, with data collected from 100 MSME actors via a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) in AMOS. The findings reveal that competitive pressure, as well as green product and process innovations, have a positive and significant effect on sustainable firm performance. Green product innovation, including eco-friendly materials and circular design, and green process innovation, such as waste-reducing technologies, are identified as crucial strategies for achieving environmental and business goals.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of green manufacturing and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on company performance, with company reputation as a mediating variable. The theoretical basis used is the Natural Resource-Based View (NRBV), which states that resources and capabilities oriented towards sustainability can be the basis for long-term competitive advantage. Data were collected through a survey of manufacturing companies in Central Java Province that have implemented Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the direct and indirect effects between variables. The results showed that green manufacturing and CSR had a significant effect on company reputation, which in turn had a positive effect on company performance. In addition, green manufacturing and CSR were also proven to have a direct effect on performance, although the mediating role of company reputation was not statistically significant. These findings emphasize the importance of reputation as a strategic intangible asset, but its effectiveness as a mediator can vary depending on the organizational context. This study recommends a broader application of environmental and social strategies, and encourages further research with a wider sample size and mediating variables.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of social media content on the visit intention of domestic tourists to Gedongsongo Temple, with online reviews and social visibility acting as mediators. Based on Self-Congruence Theory, the research explores how the alignment between social media content and tourists' self-image can enhance personal engagement, ultimately driving visit intention. Using a quantitative approach with a survey, the study involves 113 respondents who have either visited or seen content about Gedongsongo Temple on social media, analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). The findings indicate that appealing and authentic social media content increases online reviews that align with consumers' self-image, consequently boosting visit intention. Moreover, credible and informative online reviews about the destination also enhance social visibility and encourage more tourists to visit. Online reviews serve as a mediator that strengthens the relationship between social media content and visit intention. The social visibility gained through online reviews and interactions on social media amplifies the effect of social media content on tourists' intention to visit Gedongsongo Temple. These findings provide insights for destination managers to leverage authentic content and collaborations with influencers on social media to enhance destination appeal and attract tourists, supporting the sustainability of local tourism economies.

Abstract

The rapid rise of digital technology has increased problematic internet use among adolescents, raising concerns about its impact on loneliness, particularly in non-Western contexts like Indonesia. This study aimed to examine whether self-objectification mediates the relationship between problematic internet use and loneliness among Indonesian junior high school students. A quantitative correlational design was employed, involving 357 students aged 13–15 years from five diverse schools in Central Kalimantan, selected via proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires and analyzed with PROCESS Macro Hayes Model 4 with 5,000 bootstrap samples. Findings revealed a significant direct effect of problematic internet use on loneliness, but no significant relationships between problematic internet use and self-objectification or self-objectification and loneliness. The mediation effect of self-objectification was also non-significant. These results suggest that problematic internet use directly contributes to loneliness without self-objectification as a mediator, highlighting the need for digital wellness programs to promote balanced internet use and foster offline social connections among Indonesian adolescents.

Abstract

Culinary tourism in South Jakarta, a vibrant hub blending traditional and modern food services, has been reshaped by digital marketing, particularly amid boycott movements targeting certain businesses. These socio-political disruptions have highlighted gaps in how food services manage reputational crises and shifting consumer behaviour, especially among foreign workers. This study explores the interplay between culinary tourism and digital marketing in South Jakarta’s traditional and online food sectors, focusing on post-boycott recovery strategies and consumer responses. Employing a qualitative-comparative case study approach, data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with food service providers and digital marketing experts, complemented by online content analysis of customer reviews and campaign materials. Findings reveal that online food services effectively utilized targeted social media campaigns and influencer partnerships to restore consumer trust, while traditional vendors struggled due to limited digital literacy. However, traditional vendors leveraging authenticity and cultural heritage through digital storytelling showed recovery potential. The study expands the theoretical framework of digital culinary tourism by incorporating post-crisis consumer perceptions and emphasizes the need for culturally sensitive digital strategies. It advocates for capacity-building initiatives to empower traditional vendors, ensuring competitiveness in a digitally driven market.
