Abstract

Sumatra Island is one of the largest islands in Indonesia and has a large population, but the distribution of population and utilization of energy resources is not evenly distributed. The purpose of this study is to examine the demographic, socio-economic, and physical factors of the region that affect household energy consumption on the island of Sumatra and their spatial patterns. The data used are the 2020 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas), Village Potential (Podes) 2018 and Podes 2020. The analysis used is the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) method, the Global Moran Index value and Local Indicators of Spatial Autocorrelation (LISA). The results showed that the demographic, socio-economic and physical factors of the area consisting of gender, age, employment status, education of the head of the household, household size, household income, access to modern energy, area of residence, regional topography and road accessibility affect household energy consumption on the island of Sumatra. The spatial pattern formed from household energy consumption on the island of Sumatra is a clustered pattern, so that the achievement of household energy consumption in one island is not evenly distributed, both in terms of the type of household energy used and the price obtained at the consumer level.

Abstract

Land clearing into built-up areas can cause the urban heat island phenomenon which can have an impact on microclimate change, especially in urban areas. This study aims to determine the effect of land cover dynamics, vegetation density (NDVI), and buildings (NDBI) on surface temperature in Pekanbaru City in 2013-2021, based on interpretation of Landsat 8 imagery in 2013 and 2021. Supervised classification-maximum likelihood analysis was used to identify land cover, and calculation of pixel values to identify temperature conditions, vegetation density index, and buildings using ENVI 5.3 and ArcGIS 10.5 software. Furthermore, multinomial logistic regression analysis was conducted using SPSS 25 software between the variables of land cover classification, vegetation density and buildings on land surface temperature to determine the factors that significantly affect the Urban Heat Island phenomenon in Pekanbaru City. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between land cover change and temperature increase in Pekanbaru City with a sig. value of <0.05. This indication is related to the increase in settlement area of 2,263 ha causing an increase in high temperature class (29-330C) which is spatially concentrated in Pekanbaru City.

Abstract

Every year, Bandung Regency often sustains windstorms and strong winds. Based on previous research, the disaster events formed a clustered pattern around the south of the Saguling Reservoir to the northwest-north, some of which were found in East Bandung Regency. Over the last 10 years, the eastern part of Bandung Regency has been hit by 72 windstorms. Causing people injuries, suffering, displacement, and damage property. The main objective of this study is to determine and analyze the level of windstorm hazards and identify the level of affected area from windstorm hazard in the eastern part of Bandung Regency. This research as a whole uses the Geographic Information System method in the form of overlays, weighting, and scoring, as well as remote sensing methods which are used as data providers - data parameters for the level of windstorm hazard including data on a slope, surface temperature and land cover. The results showed that East Bandung Regency had a low to high hazard level with a moderate hazard level being the widest hazard level of 407.72 km2 followed by the second widest class, namely a high hazard level of 317.42 km2 and a low hazard class of 33.27 km2. The distribution of affected area from windstrom hazard resulted in 9 classification classes with the classification being the first order to be considered namely the level of population density and the level of danger (high, high). There are two sub-district with the with the classification (high, high) are Cileunyi District and Majalaya District.

Abstract

The Sedayu industrial area located in Argodadi Village, has been designated as a district's strategic economic area. This has an impact on land of Argodadi Village in terms of land tenure, land use and land value. To avoid land speculators causing land values to soar, it is necessary to have plot-based land value information. Land value modeling can be carried out using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) and Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) methods. Based on the analysis of the model compatibility test, the coefficient of determination, spatial heterogeneity, and the spatial autocorrelation index, it is found that GWR is more effectively used than OLS. GWR produces 9988 models which equal the number of analyzed fields. The results of the prediction to the industrial estate land values are displayed in a map of the value of land parcels which are grouped into 71 classes, namely in the class range of 31 to 103.

Abstract

Flash Flood or "Galodo" disaster hit West Sumatra around Mount Merapi on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Several areas such as Nagari Andaleh, Pandai Sikek, Limo Kaum, and several areas in Agam and other Tanah Datar were hit by this flood. Galodo is a river flow that flows downstream with sediment such as sand and gravel. Flash floods or galodo occur because the static balance between the shear force generated by the flow is greater than the shear force of the sediment mass that holds it. Flash floods or galodo occur because of holding Flash floods or galodo occur because. Areas included in the danger category are areas around Mount Merapi within a radius of 5 km from the center of activity. To avoid the danger of lava flows, especially in areas with low topography and deep valleys along the river flow that originates from around the peak crater, and pay attention to the currently active crater on the western peak which has a greater threat of eruption in Nagari Baruh Bukik, Sungayang District, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra Province. Contributing factors include slope gradient, elevation class, soil texture, rainfall, land use, and buffers from the river network.

Abstract

Floods are one of the many disasters that often occur in Indonesia. Based on data released by BNPB (2017), approximately 31.3% of natural disasters that occur in Indonesia are floods. In general, floods also frequently occur in the administrative area of the Indramayu Regency. Indramayu, which is a coastal area and has topography with an average slope of 0-2%, certainly increases the potential for flood disasters. To help deal with the problem of frequent flooding, radar system remote sensing technology can be utilized to map flood inundation areas effectively. This research was conducted to help identify and map the location of flood inundation in Indramayu Regency using Sentinel-1 multi-temporal Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery. Radar images are processed on the Google Earth Engine using the Backscatter algorithm method. The processing results show that an area of 87581.5 ha or 42.1% of the total area of Indramayu Regency has the potential and frequent occurrence of flooding.

Abstract

The high mobility of high school students due to the uneven number of schools and equality in accessing education, initiated the government to form zoning regulations. The practice in the field shows that the zoning system has not been able to eliminate inequality in accessing education. This study aims to (1) analyze the distribution pattern of public high schools, (2) analyze the affordability of public high schools, (3) evaluate the availability of public high schools in Semarang City. Nearest neighborhood data analysis was used for distribution pattern, buffering with SNI 03-1733-2004 standard for affordability, Luthfi Muta'ali's availability formula for availability. The results of the study (1) the distribution pattern of public senior high schools in Semarang City shows a uniform/regular/dispersed pattern, 2) the affordability based on zoning regulations results in all sub-districts of Semarang City being affordable, but if using the SNI 03-1733-2004 standard there are 10 sub-districts and 30 villages that are not affordable or blankspots. (3) the availability of school facilities only three out of 16 sub-districts have a surplus level, around 20 additional schools are needed but still considering the number of private SMK/MA/SMA facilities in each sub-district.
