Abstract

Temanggung Regency is one of the areas that distributes the largest tobacco products in Central Java Province. The strategic location on the slopes of a mountain makes tobacco plants suitable to be used as a source of agriculture in the region. The large number of agricultural lands spread across Temanggung Regency provides abundant agricultural products. But in reality, the development of this tobacco farmer business has experienced many problems, such as unstable selling prices, decreased farmer productivity, and changing harvest times. This research study aims to analyze the factors that influence the income of tobacco farmers in Temanggung Regency. This study uses primary data through direct observation and direct interviews with tobacco farmers using questionnaires and secondary data as research support. The results of this study indicate that the marketing of tobacco produced by farmers has several channels such as warehouses, brokers, factories, tengquats, and small traders. Suggestions for further research by adding marketing margin analysis and added value analysis to enrich the research discussion.

Abstract

Quail birds are considered one of the poultry commodities in the livestock sector. There is an imbalance between the supply and demand of quail eggs. The quail farm located at the integrated waste disposal site in Bogor City aims to increase its quail egg-laying capacity by 25 percent, with requires an investment. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of developing a quail farm at the Integrated Waste Disposal Site in Bogor City. The feasibility analysis encompasses both non-financial and financial aspects. The results of the non-financial aspect analysis indicate that the planned farm development is viable for implementation, as the feasibility scores for each non-financial aspect exceed 50 percent. The financial analysis, without development, yields an NPV of IDR 232,229,923, an IRR of 21 percent, a Net B/C of 2.04, and a Payback Period of 7 years and 5 months. On the other hand, the financial analysis, with development, yields an NPV of IDR 662,445,448, an IRR of 44 percent, a Net B/C of 3.80, and a Payback Period of 3 years and 9 months. Therefore, under both conditions, the business development plan is financially feasible. Additionally, there is an increase in net benefits of 53.15 percent with the development. Based on the switching value analysis, the farm is sensitive to a decline in income.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency of raw materials supply and measure supply chain performance at PT XYZ. The method used to measure supply chain performance is SCOR. This research is limited to PKO raw material from suppliers and lauric acid products by PT XYZ. Results showed that the method of raw material procurement in PT XYZ was already efficient. The supply chain performance in PT XYZ was good yet only the POF matrix gives an unfavorable result compared to the brancmark from a similar company. Commonly in running operation of production, PT XYZ has several steps of supply chain that only involve suppliers, PT XYZ and direct to customer. The result showed from the measurement of matrix: level 1 is POF=88.36%, OFCT=44 days, and CTCCT=51 days. In level 2, PT XYZ conducted all activities in planning process (P1-P5), executing (S2, M1, M2, M3, D2, D3 and DR1) and enabling. On the mapping of level 2 obtained that the result of deliver process have the lowest performance and analysis in level 3 should be conducted to explain the deliver process in more detail.

Abstract

This research aims to describe a general overview of red chili farming in Kayu Aro Sub-district and Kerinci Regency generally, analyze the cost structure and income and the feasibility of red chili farming, and to analysis implementation to rural goverment. This research was conducted in Kayu Aro Sub-district, specifically in Batang Sangir and Sungai Tanduk villages. The number sampled in this study was 54 farmers. Both primary and secondary data were utilized. The data analysis methods used were descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis. The research shows that red chili farming in the research area is a traditional practice that has been passed down through generations and remains deeply rooted in the culture. Consequently, all basic farming activities are based on traditional experiences. The first step in red chili farming is seed preparation, where farmers use local seeds known as LOKER (Local Kerinci), obtained from previous harvests, eliminating the need to purchase seeds. Generally, red chili farmers in the research location have small land holdings where they own on average 0.18 hectares. The red chili farming maintenance activities include transplanting, staking, weeding, fertilization, as well as pest and disease control.  The cost structure consists of fixed costs amounting to IDR 1,413,000/MT/year and variable costs amounting to IDR 27,985,000/MT/year. The income obtained from red chili farming is IDR 18,963,400/farmer/MT. The R/C ratio for red chili farming is 1.70, indicating that the farming activity in the research area is profitable and viable to pursue.

Abstract

The front side of the coin represents business potential, while the reverse side depicts the associated business hazards, indicating that risk is an important component of enterprise. The root cause of the risk, which can be used to decide what action to take, can be difficult to identify, when the hazard is not clearly characterized, as this may result in action simply covering the risk. Similar concerns exist in the honey watermelon business. This study involved 28 fruit traders (retailers) who were selected based on the census method. This research has three objectives. First, find out the root cause (risk) of the honey water melon trade to fruit traders in Bengkulu City by using the Ishikawa diagram analysis tool (risk causal map analysis). The research results obtained are prejudiced. Second, to find out the perceptions of fruit traders on the risks of the honey watermelon trade in Bengkulu City using the Likert-scale-analysis tool, the results are 75% categorized as neutral. Third, to find out the actions of the trader group on the risk of buying and selling honey melon.  iIt is  mostly carried out in Bengkulu City using a qualitative descriptive analysis tool, and the research results obtained by the traders choose to do research (examine) and carry out risk identification.
