Abstract

In South Kalimantan’s interior, a significant shift is unfolding within the realm of Islamic religious instruction, spearheaded by female educators who are redefining conventional theological education. Research examining 25 women religious teachers demonstrates their transformative impact on local communities through progressive leadership methods and contemporary approaches to spiritual teaching. These trailblazing educators have assumed leadership roles within pesantren educational institutions, implementing participatory and welcoming management practices that foster supportive learning spaces for students of all genders. Moving beyond conventional pedagogical frameworks, they have integrated instruction that recognizes gender-specific considerations, particularly focusing on the distinct requirements of women in their communities. They organize substantive conversations covering marriage counseling, healthcare matters, and the interpretation of women’s rights through Islamic jurisprudence, addressing important educational voids. What stands out particularly is their adoption of online technologies to broaden their educational influence. These religious teachers have effectively leveraged social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok Live to engage with varied audiences spanning multiple generations. Their technological proficiency enables them to deliver spiritual instruction in modern, relatable formats that appeal to digitally-connected community members. Drawing from comprehensive interview data, field observations, and examination of their digital platform activities, scholars found that these educators are doing more than simply responding to transformation—they are catalyzing it. Their contributions illustrate how Islamic theological education can modernize to address current community requirements while preserving its religious core, establishing that women’s academic leadership plays a vital role in developing accessible, forward-thinking religious educational settings.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of dhikr spiritual practices with neurofeedback technology to improve self-regulated learning (SRL) skills in Muslim students. Using a mixed method approach, the study involved 30 Muslim students (aged 18-25 years) who underwent a dhikr intervention with neurofeedback for 4 weeks. Brain activity was measured using a 14-channel EEG device, while SRL ability was measured by the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) through pre-test, post-test, and follow-up. The results of EEG analysis showed a significant increase in alpha (8-13 Hz) and theta (4-8 Hz) waves, as well as a decrease in beta (13-30 Hz) and gamma (>30 Hz) waves during and after the practice of dhikr. MSLQ measurements showed significant improvements in almost all components of SRL, especially metacognitive ability (d=1.07), self-efficacy (d=0.84), and business regulation (d=0.82). Correlation analysis revealed a strong positive association between increased alpha and theta waves and increased SRL scores. Thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews identified five main themes: increased internal awareness, mental calmness, strengthening of spiritual connections, transfer to learning activities, and the facilitative role of neurofeedback visualization. These findings suggest that the integration of dhikr with neurofeedback has the potential to be an innovative approach to developing SRL abilities while strengthening the religious identity of Muslim students, offering an educational model that integrates cognitive and spiritual aspects.

Abstract

This study operationalizes the trilogy of al-Jabiri epistemology (bayānī–burhānī –'irfānī) to map the epistemological orientation of the Ma'had Aly curriculum through the al-Jabiri Epistemology Coding Framework v1.0 (27 indicators; three dimensions: Sources of Authority, Methods of Acquisition, and Validation of Knowledge Claims). The framework is applied to the curriculum of Ma'had Aly At-Tarmasi (Pacitan) of the Takhassus Fiqh wa Ushuluhu program through the analysis of curriculum documents, syllabus, and book reference lists, with an independent intensity rating scoring system (0–3) that allows the capture of simultaneous multi-epistemological manifestations. The results showed strong epistemological integration: high bayānī (M = 2.58; SD = 0.87), high bursity (M = 2.52; SD = 0.82), and moderate irrationality (M = 1.88; SD = 1.01); in the Takhassus category (69 credits) there was a simultaneous high intensity in bayānī (M = 3.00) and burhānī (M = 2.78), indicating organic synthesis rather than a zero-sum trade-off. Bayānī is manifested in authoritative turāts (100% classical writings), explicit sanad, and qiyās; burhānī in systematic istinbāṭ methodology, causal analysis ('illat, maqāṣid), and baḥts al-masā'il; whereas 'irfānī is primarily on social transformation (M = 2.67) and exemplary (M = 2.50), rather than intuitive-mysticism (M = 0.67). These findings challenge al-Jabiri's thesis of "bayānī hegemony" in the context of contemporary Islamic education and offer a replicable methodological contribution to a cross-Ma'had Aly comparative analysis.

Abstract

The moral crisis afflicting contemporary education demands the revitalization of a comprehensive concept of moral education. This study examines Ibn Miskawaih's thought on moral education through an in-depth analysis of the book Tahdzib al-Akhlaq wa Tathhir al-A’raq. This research is a library research study with a philosophical-analytical approach. Data were collected from the primary source of Tahdzib al-Akhlaq and relevant secondary sources, then analyzed using descriptive-analytical methods and content analysis. The research findings indicate that Ibn Miskawaih's concept of moral education is based on four cardinal virtues (al-fadha’il al-arba’ah): wisdom (al-hikmah), courage (al-syaja'ah), temperance (al-'iffah), and justice (al-'adalah). Miskawaih views morality as a state of the soul that can be changed through education and habituation (ta’wid). The proposed educational methods include the natural method (thariqun thabi'iy), habituation, exemplary conduct, and Riyadhah (spiritual training). The concept of the middle way (al-washath) becomes a fundamental principle in achieving moral virtues, integrating Aristotle's rational approach with Islamic shari’ah values. This research contributes to the development of Islamic education theory by offering a philosophical framework that integrates reason and revelation in character formation. The implication is that moral education must be designed holistically, considering the psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of learners and creating a conducive environment that supports moral transformation.

Abstract

Sliding gate systems in cement mixer machines are critical components for regulating material flow; however, their performance is often constrained by excessive friction and shear forces, particularly under maximum load conditions. Empirical observations at PT FOCON Mojokerto revealed that the sliding gate fails to operate smoothly when the hopper load reaches one ton, leading to increased actuation force demand and overheating of the pneumatic cylinder. This study aims to analyze the shear forces acting on the sliding gate based on different material contact configurations and to determine the optimal pneumatic cylinder bore diameter for efficient operation. The research employs a quantitative analytical approach grounded in classical friction theory and pneumatic force analysis, using field-observed loading conditions and validated material friction coefficients. The results demonstrate that metal-to-metal contact generates the highest shear force (925 kg), whereas the use of nylon combined with grease lubrication reduces the shear force significantly to 187.5 kg, enabling a reduction in the required pneumatic cylinder bore diameter from 155 mm to 70 mm at a working pressure of 5 bar. These findings confirm that appropriate material selection and lubrication substantially improve sliding gate performance and actuator efficiency. The study concludes that polymer-based, lubricated sliding interfaces provide a practical and economical alternative to imported components. Scientifically, this research contributes by explicitly linking tribological material properties to pneumatic actuator sizing in industrial sliding gate design.

Abstract

Modern education faces a series of complex challenges. Rapid social change, the penetration of digital technology, an instant culture, and a moral crisis among the younger generation demand a more robust educational paradigm rooted in values. This paper aims to analyze the relevance of Islamic educational philosophy in the context of modern education. The discussion focuses on the nature of Islamic educational philosophy, the ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions of Islamic education, and its implications for educational design in the digital age. This research method utilizes a literature review, reviewing relevant books and scholarly articles, including one article specifically discussing Islamic educational philosophy and its scope. The analysis shows that Islamic educational philosophy can serve as an alternative paradigm to modern education, which tends toward secularism and technocracy. Education built on a framework of monotheism, the integration of knowledge and values, and an orientation toward morality provides a strong foundation for developing a more humane and sustainable curriculum, methods, and educational culture.
