Abstract

The implementation of child-friendly schools has been widely applied to educational units, but it is not optimal in the daily learning process. Some of the learning is still oriented towards cognitive aspects and classroom control that are instructive, so that the opportunity to internalize character values has not run optimally. This study aims to describe and analyze the optimization of child-friendly classrooms in shaping the positive character of students in SD Negeri 2 Tanjungsari. This research uses a qualitative research paradigm with a case study approach. Data collection methods include participatory observation, semi-structured interviews with principals, teachers, and students, and documentation studies of learning tools and school policies. The selection of respondents was carried out by purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out using an interactive model including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn, with the application of triangulation of sources and techniques to ensure the validity of the data. The results of the study show that (1) Optimization of child-friendly classrooms is carried out through student-oriented learning planning, the implementation of participatory and humanist learning, and positive discipline-based classroom management; (2) A safe, comfortable, and inclusive classroom environment encourages students' active involvement in learning; (3) These activities have an impact on the formation of positive character of students, especially discipline, responsibility, cooperation, empathy, and confidence. The conclusion of this study is: the implementation of child-friendly classes can form the positive character of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study explores the recruitment and retention strategies for gifted students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds, as outlined by Donna Y. Ford in the book Multicultural Education: Issues and Perspectives, edited by James A. Banks and Cherry A. McGee Banks. The objective of this research is to evaluate fair and inclusive approaches in identifying and retaining students from historically underrepresented groups in gifted education programs. Employing a library research method and content analysis, this study reveals three main findings: (1) key recruitment barriers include unequal access to quality education, culturally biased assessment standards, and a lack of multicultural training for educators; (2) recruitment strategies must be systematic, inclusive, and culturally responsive; and (3) retention strategies require the implementation of multicultural education, supportive learning environments, and curriculum development that emphasizes diversity and equity. These findings highlight the necessity of integrated efforts among schools, educators, and policy makers to establish a gifted education system that is equitable and inclusive for all students.

Abstract

The low ability to tell short stories is one of the problems so that students tend to be rigid, lack confidence, and have difficulty expressing themselves emotionally. There is a gap between the demands of the curriculum that requires students to be skilled in communicative speaking and the reality in the field, showing that literary learning is still conventional and theoretical. This study aims to describe and analyze the internalization of characters through the Role Playing learning method in improving students' short story skills. The research paradigm used is qualitative with data collection methods in the form of non-participatory observations, limited interviews with teachers and students, and documentation. The findings of the study show that (1) The Role Playing Method is effective in building confidence so that it can create organic improvisation and natural gestures through the internalization of character characters; (2) Gestures and aspects of intonation, as well as articulation undergo changes through the process of imitation and creative sound experimentation; (3) Students no longer just memorize texts, but are able to bring the narrative to life through the synchronization of vocals and facial expressions. It was concluded that the Role Playing method succeeded in changing the storytelling learning paradigm from just an academic task to a creative form of self-actualization, improving the quality of storytelling, and successfully creating a supportive and appreciative classroom ecosystem.

Abstract

Students' compliance with discipline is an important indicator of the success of character education in Islamic boarding schools, but the challenge of obedience arises when adolescent students who have a desire for freedom must adapt to the strict rules of the Islamic boarding school. This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that support the compliance of students in Islamic boarding schools through psychological, social, and institutional perspectives. The research method uses literature studies by collecting and studying various relevant literature in the form of journal articles, books, and research reports related to student compliance and pesantren education. The analysis was carried out by grouping information based on key themes and identifying patterns of relationships between factors. The results of the study show three categories of factors supporting student compliance: (1) internal factors including self-control, social support, emotional intelligence, self-adjustment, and religiosity that form the psychological foundation of students; (2) external factors include peer influence and the role of ustadz/kyai as authority figures who provide examples; (3) institutional factors in the form of pesantren education methods which include uswah hasanah, discipline, habituation, and advice that form a systematic habitus of obedience. These three factors interact with each other and strengthen in forming holistic and sustainable student compliance. Research recommendations include the development of self-control and emotional intelligence training programs, the creation of a supportive environment through a structured mentoring system, the strengthening of ustadz pedagogical competence, and the innovation of educational methods that are adaptive but still maintain the traditional values of pesantren to optimize the formation of the character of students who are obedient, independent, and have noble character.

Abstract

The development of moral character is a very important element in Islamic education, especially in Islamic boarding schools. This research focuses on the importance of moral development for the younger generation facing the challenges of globalization, where ethical values are often overlooked. Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri Campus 2 implements a character education and learning system to shape the personality of students, including for prospective new students in the 2025–2026 school year. This research was conducted to understand the education and learning process at Gontor Putri Campus 2 in shaping the character of morals for prospective students. The method used in this study is qualitative with a study design in the field. The subjects of this study are students who have the potential to become students at Gontor Putri Campus 2 for the 2025–2026 school year. Data was obtained through observation, interviews, and document collection, then analyzed using data grouping methods, data presentation, and specific facts identified at the location. The results of the study show that an education system that combines intracurricular, extracurricular, and daily habits plays an important role in the development of moral character for prospective students. Habituation of discipline, strengthening of religious values, and example provided by teachers and seniors are important factors that support this process. Abstract

Public services at the sub-district level require proportional employee workload management for effective organizational performance. However, in Regolwetan Sub-district, South Sumedang District, an imbalance in workload among employees is still found, impacting service quality. This study aims to analyze employee workload, identify inhibiting factors, and determine solutions for improvement. The research method used was qualitative with a descriptive approach through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that the workload is not evenly distributed, especially among public service employees with high work volumes. The main obstacles include limited human resources, suboptimal delegation of authority, inadequate work facilities, and additional tasks beyond job functions. This study concludes that workload analysis in Regolwetan Sub-district is not optimal and requires a reorganization of task distribution to improve employee performance and the quality of public services.
