Abstract

Raising children with special needs is a challenging process that requires understanding, support, and adjustments from parents, especially mothers. Therefore, resilience is a crucial factor that enables mothers of children with hearing impairments to remain strong, endure difficulties, and recover from adversity. This study aims to analyze the influence of gratitude and family support on the resilience of mothers with children with hearing impairments at SLB B Yakut Purwokerto. This research employs a quantitative method, involving 112 mothers as participants, with data analyzed using multiple linear regression through SPSS for Windows version 26.00. The results indicate that gratitude has a significant effect on resilience, with an F-value of 50.713 and a significance value (p) = 0.000 (p < 0.050), contributing 31.6%. Family support also significantly affects resilience, with an F-value of 38.057 and a significance value (p) = 0.000 (p < 0.050), contributing 25.7%. Simultaneously, gratitude and family support contribute 39% to maternal resilience, with an F-value of 34.874 and a significance value (p) = 0.000 (p < 0.050). Based on these findings, it is recommended that mothers of children with hearing impairments develop gratitude as a strategy to enhance their resilience. Additionally, families are encouraged to provide more intensive support, both emotionally, instrumentally, and socially, to strengthen the mothers’ psychological endurance. Educational institutions and communities can also play a role in offering mentoring programs and psychosocial support to assist mothers in facing the challenges of raising children with hearing impairments.

Abstract

Work-family balance is a condition in which individuals can experience satisfaction in fulfilling their roles as both workers and family members. This study aims to analyze the relationship between husband’s social support and work-family balance among working mothers with young children. The research subjects consisted of married working women with children aged 0–6 years. This study employed a correlational quantitative method to examine the relationship between variables. The measurement instruments demonstrated good reliability, with a reliability coefficient of 0.872 for husband’s social support and 0.915 for work-family balance. The results of the analysis indicate a significant positive relationship between husband’s social support and work-family balance among working mothers with young children (r = 0.481, p < 0.01). Husband’s social support contributes 32.9% to work-family balance. Based on these findings, it is recommended that husbands actively provide emotional, instrumental, and informational support to their wives to enhance their ability to balance work and family roles. Additionally, organizations should consider implementing family-friendly policies, such as flexible work arrangements and family support programs, to strengthen work-family balance in the workplace.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between leisure boredom and the tendency of social media addiction to TikTok among Generation Z. This research employs a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, with a total of 120 participants from Generation Z. Measurements were conducted using the TikTok social media addiction scale and the leisure boredom scale. The data analysis results using Product Moment correlation indicate a significant and strong relationship between leisure boredom and the tendency for TikTok social media addiction among Generation Z. These findings suggest that the higher the level of leisure boredom, the greater the tendency for individuals to develop social media addiction to TikTok. Based on these findings, it is recommended that Generation Z engage in more diverse and meaningful activities during their leisure time to reduce the risk of social media addiction. Additionally, parents, educators, and relevant stakeholders should provide education on time management and healthy social media usage. Future research can explore other contributing factors to social media addiction, such as self-regulation and social support, to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the issue.

Abstract

Completing a final thesis is one of the requirements for students to obtain a bachelor's degree. However, during the process, students often face various challenges that require good self-regulation to complete their thesis within the designated timeframe. This study aims to examine the relationship between peer social support and self-regulation among students working on their thesis. This research employs a quantitative correlational method with purposive sampling as the data collection technique. The participants in this study were students aged 19–25 years, enrolled in semesters 7–12, and currently writing their thesis. Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman Rho correlation test, yielding a p-value of 0.00 (p < 0.05), indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. These findings suggest a significant relationship between peer social support and self-regulation in students working on their thesis. Based on the results, it is recommended that students actively build and utilize peer social support to enhance their self-regulation in overcoming academic challenges. Furthermore, educational institutions should consider providing academic mentoring programs or study groups to help students develop better self-regulation skills, enabling them to navigate obstacles during the thesis-writing process more effectively.

Abstract

Marriage is a union between two individuals who rely on each other, provide mutual support, and build a shared life. Self-adjustment and emotional intelligence are essential factors in fostering marital harmony. Married couples with a high level of self-adjustment and emotional intelligence tend to evaluate various situations in their marital life more positively. This study employs a descriptive correlational method with 170 respondents selected through accidental sampling. The instruments used include the Emotional Intelligence Scale and the Self-Adjustment Scale. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation technique. The results indicate a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and self-adjustment in married individuals in early adulthood (r = 0.262, p = 0.001; p < 0.05). Based on these findings, it is recommended that married couples enhance their emotional intelligence through emotional management training and communication skills development to improve self-adjustment in marriage. Additionally, psychological intervention programs focusing on strengthening adaptation skills in marital life can help couples navigate marital challenges more effectively.
