Abstract

Mr. Ahmad's business, inspired by his uncle, specializes in selling baked bread products in various flavors. The target market includes the general community, students, and children. To promote his products, Mr. Ahmad utilizes banners, promotional coupons, word-of-mouth through friends and family, and social media platforms. In his customer interactions, he prioritizes excellent service by being friendly, polite, and maintaining high product quality. Additionally, he often offers promotional incentives, such as a free product after ten purchases, and provides ordering services via WhatsApp. However, a recurring issue arises as some customers fail to collect their orders despite reminders. A significant challenge faced by Mr. Ahmad is the unavailability of certain bread products ordered through WhatsApp, leading to customer dissatisfaction and a gradual shift to competing businesses. Mr. Ahmad acknowledges the critical role of technology in business communication and emphasizes the need for consistent practices to sustain his enterprise. Furthermore, he envisions support from institutions to provide training and coaching, enabling his business to adapt to modern trends. This aligns with research findings that highlight the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) approach to business, characterized by friendliness, politeness, consistency, and effective communication, which remain vital principles for successful entrepreneurship.

This research aims to analyze murabahah financing based on the influence of inflation, interest rates, and third-party funds on BSI. The data used is secondary data on Murabahah Financing, deposits, inflation, and interest for February 2021 to February 2024, sourced from the official websites of BSI and BI. The method used is a quantitative method with multiple regression analysis. The results of the study obtained from multiple regression analysis show that the variables of deposits, inflation, and interest rates have a significant positive effect on murabahah financing at BSI in 2021-2024. Likewise, deposits, interest, and inflation significantly influenced murabahah financing at BSI in 2021-2024. The results of this study imply that banks need to pay attention to these macroeconomic factors in formulating business strategies and murabahah financing products, as well as increasing deposits by offering products and services that are attractive to customers. In addition, Sharia bank also needs to monitor the development of interest rates and inflation to be able to adjust the strategy to be carried out with various dynamic macroeconomic conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to explore Muslim guests' preferences and expectations regarding Muslim-friendly hotel facilities and services at Horison Aziza Solo. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the research involved 25 Muslim guest participants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and direct observations, then analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the availability of halal food and worship facilities are the primary preferences, with importance levels of 100% and 95%, respectively. The largest gap was identified in the aspect of separating facilities based on gender (15%), while staff services exhibited the smallest gap. Horison Aziza Solo has demonstrated strong performance in implementing the Muslim-friendly hotel concept, with key strengths in its strategic location and management commitment. However, there is still a need for improvement in service consistency and facility optimization. This study contributes theoretically to the development of halal tourism literature and offers practical implications for the management of Muslim-friendly hotels in Indonesia.

Abstract

Traditional market traders in developing economies often face significant financial challenges, including limited access to formal credit and dependency on high-interest informal loans. This study evaluates the Kredit Kukar Idaman (KKI) program in Kutai Kartanegara, Indonesia, an initiative providing interest-free loans to empower micro and small enterprises (MSEs). Employing a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions with 81 market traders. Results reveal that KKI substantially enhanced financial stability, with 87% of participants reporting increased working capital and 62% expanding their business operations. However, barriers such as limited awareness, administrative complexities, and inadequate digital skills hinder program accessibility and efficiency. Comparisons with global best practices highlight the need for integrated capacity-building measures, including financial literacy training and digital adoption initiatives. The study concludes that while KKI demonstrates the potential to foster economic resilience and market competitiveness, addressing implementation challenges is critical for its long-term sustainability. This research contributes to the discourse on inclusive credit policies and provides actionable insights for policymakers aiming to optimize similar programs.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of liquidity, solvency, and activity ratios on profit changes of consumer goods companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2018-2022. Using purposive sampling, 30 companies were selected. Secondary data from financial statements was analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that current ratio (CR) and total asset turnover (TATO) have a significant positive effect, while debt-to-equity ratio (DER) has a significant negative effect on profit changes. These findings align with signaling theory and the DuPont model. The study contributes to financial ratio analysis research and offers practical implications for company management and investors in evaluating financial performance and making decisions. Future research should expand the sample, explore other ratios and variables, and examine different sectors.

Abstract

This study uses a modified Du Pont decomposition approach to analyse the determinants of Return on Equity (ROE) in the Indonesian insurance industry. The research was conducted on PT Asuransi Ramayana Tbk and PT Asuransi Jasa Tania Tbk for the 2022-2023 period, focusing on the identification and analysis of the components forming ROE. The research methodology employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a modified Du Pont analysis to accommodate the specific characteristics of the insurance industry. The findings reveal significant differences in the ROE performance of the two companies. PT Asuransi Ramayana Tbk recorded an ROE of 13.08% in 2023, supported by better operational efficiency (combined ratio of 78.76%) and a significant increase in investment returns (investment yield of 9.42%). Meanwhile, PT Asuransi Jasa Tania Tbk improved ROE from 0.18% to 1.24%, primarily driven by an increase in net profit margin from 0.35% to 2.11%. The decomposition analysis identified three key factors influencing ROE: operational efficiency, as reflected in the combined ratio; investment management effectiveness, as seen from the investment yield; and capital structure optimisation, indicated by financial leverage. These findings provide a systematic framework for insurance company management to optimise economic performance and for regulators to develop policies that support the industry's sustainability.
