Abstract

This study explores the impact of shift work management implementation on employee well-being in the manufacturing industry of Semarang Regency. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, the research involves 28 informants, including shift employees, supervisors, HR practitioners, and labor union representatives. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and focus group discussions. The findings reveal the multidimensional impact of shift work on physical health (80% experienced sleep disturbances), mental health (75% reported increased stress levels), and social well-being (85% faced work-life balance disruptions). Key moderating factors include the shift rotation system (the 3-2-2 model with a 75% satisfaction rate) and individual factors such as age and work experience. Effective adaptation strategies encompass sleep management at the individual level and flexible scheduling at the organizational level. This study contributes to the development of an integrative and context-specific shift work management model while providing practical recommendations to optimize the well-being of shift workers in the manufacturing industry.

Abstract

Collecting hotel front office administrative data requires appropriate mechanisms and organizational arrangements so that the data can be packaged and maintained properly. As one of the modern hotels in Ciamis city center, RYD Family Hotel is a hotel that is currently under development. Currently, the RYD Family room rental system is still less effective in terms of reservation retention, delays in finding empty rooms, frequent delays in reporting, and the length of time to calculate check-out fees. Therefore, to be more effective, the author aims to create an efficient and effective front office information system. Therefore, the benefits obtained through this computerized system are expected to provide convenience in processing front office check-in and check-out customer data, ease in storing customer data, viewing customer data reports, income reports, daily, monthly and period reports. Using research methods, the author analyzes existing data sources to create a system, designs input and output based on this analysis, and creates tables and program code to become the desired system.

This qualitative research adopts a case study approach, involving six window cleaners as informants and one supervisor as a key informant to provide additional insights into job enjoyment. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using data triangulation. The findings indicate that several factors influence employees’ job enjoyment, including the level of enjoyment experienced, structured training programs, a positive job environment, and flexible job hours, all of which impact employees’ decisions to stay or switch jobs. Additionally, mood and workplace challenges serve as motivational factors, encompassing personal interests, the nature of the job itself, and the sense of fulfillment or achievement. The study reveals that while most employees enjoy their jobs, some do not fully experience job satisfaction within their role or job environment.

Abstract

This research aims to study how financial and risk management skills impact the financial literacy of MSME actors in West Sulawesi. Small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) that contribute to the local economy face many problems, especially concerning effective financial management. This study uses a quantitative approach and collects data through a survey of micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) owners in various districts in West Sulawesi. Financial expertise and risk management variables contribute to financial literacy. This was measured through multiple regression data analysis. The results show that financial skills and risk management have a positive and significant effect on the financial literacy of MSME players. Financial skills provide a greater influence than risk management in influencing financial literacy. These findings have significant consequences for developing programs to improve the capabilities of MSME actors that focus on improving financial management skills and understanding of risk mitigation strategies. This research is expected to assist policymakers in making useful interventions to improve the financial knowledge of small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) in West Sulawesi.

Abstract

This study evaluates the influence of work discipline, work motivation, and job training on employee performance at PT PLN UP3 Surabaya Selatan. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 70 employees who were randomly selected as respondents. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires to measure the level of work discipline, work motivation, training received, and employee performance. The results showed that, simultaneously, the three variables of work discipline, work motivation, and job training significantly influence employee performance. However, the partial analysis results revealed that only work discipline and job training significantly impacted employee performance. In contrast, work motivation does not show a significant influence when analyzed separately. This indicates that at PT PLN UP3 Surabaya Selatan, work discipline and training factors are more influential on employee performance than work motivation. This research also indicates that employee performance is strongly influenced by how companies manage and strengthen work discipline and provide relevant and effective training programs.

Abstract

The construction industry's growing environmental impact necessitates the adoption of sustainable materials and practices. This study explores the integration of waste-based materials plastic waste, glass waste, and fly ash into construction applications as an innovative approach to reducing environmental degradation and promoting a circular economy. Chemical recycling, photocatalytic conversion, and thermochemical processes enhance the potential of plastic waste in construction, particularly in road infrastructure. Similarly, waste glass powder (WGP) improves the mechanical properties of geopolymer concrete, while crushed glass serves as a sustainable substitute for natural sand in concrete production. Additionally, fly ash contributes to cement replacement, reducing carbon emissions and improving the long-term durability of concrete structures. The findings indicate that incorporating waste-based materials into construction reduces material costs by 15–30% and enhances durability by up to 40%, highlighting both economic and environmental benefits. Despite these advantages, challenges such as material variability, processing costs, and market acceptance remain key obstacles. Overcoming these barriers requires coordinated efforts among policymakers, industry stakeholders, and researchers to establish standards, incentives, and awareness programs that facilitate the transition towards sustainable construction practices.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how organizational climate, job satisfaction, and work engagement effect employee performance at PT Hasta Dwiyustama. The research applies a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The sampling technique used in this study was total sampling, in which all 32 employees of PT Hasta Dwiyustama were selected as respondents. The data consists of both primary and secondary sources. Data collection was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires using a Likert scale. The collected data were then analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that, partially, organizational climate and work engagement have a significant effect on employee performance. In contrast, job satisfaction does not show a significant effect on employee performance at PT Hasta Dwiyustama. Simultaneously, the three variables organizational climate, job satisfaction, and work engagement together have a significant effect on employee performance at the company. It is recommended that the company provide competency test programs to support employees in preparing for promotion opportunities. Future researchers are advised to conduct studies with a larger sample size and consider other potentially influential variables.
