Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of pressure, opportunity, rationalization, and the use of information technology on academic fraud and to examine the role of religiosity as a moderator. This research was conducted at the Islamic University of North Sumatra with accounting students as respondents. The sample was selected using purposive sampling with the criteria of accounting students who had previously taken an exam, resulting in 162 respondents. The data obtained will be analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis with an interaction test approach. This research adopts the fraud triangle theory approach into the realm of education at one Islamic University, which has cultural and academic environmental characteristics based on Islam. Additionally, this research adds the variable of information technology usage, which is relevant to current digital developments, and tests religiosity as a moderator, providing a psychological and moral perspective on students' tendency to cheat. The research findings revealed that rationalization and the use of information technology have a positive and significant impact on academic dishonesty, while pressure and opportunity do not. The interesting findings of this study indicate that religiosity acts as a moderator in the relationship between pressure and rationalization toward academic dishonesty. Educational institutions, particularly accounting study programs, need to instill and internalize religious and ethical values in the learning process, thereby building and strengthening an academic culture of integrity and reducing tolerance for various forms of justification that can encourage cheating.

Abstract

Corn as a pillar of the household-scale farmer economy not only serves as a source of food, but also as animal feed and industrial raw material. However, the productivity of hybrid corn in the drylands of Jetak Village (4-7 tons/ha) is still much lower than in other areas (8-10 tons/ha), indicating inefficient use of inputs. This study measured technical, allocative, and economic efficiency among 96 farmers using the Cobb-Douglas production function with stratified random sampling: <0.5 ha (n=33), 0.5-1 ha (n=30), and >1 ha (n=33). NPK fertilizer consistently dominated productivity (elasticity 0.318-0.394; p<0.01) at all scales. Technical efficiency increased from 0.846 (small land) to 0.879 (large land), indicating a productivity gap of 12-15%. Economic efficiency remains suboptimal (0.619-0.688) with a potential for improvement of 31.2%. Allocative analysis shows the highest NPM/Px ratio for urea fertilizer (5.81) on large-scale land, while labor is over-utilized (NPM/Px=0.80). Contribution of the study: identification of scale-based efficiency thresholds for dryland—expansion of critical land for small farmers (NPM/Px=14.17), nitrogen intensification for medium-sized land, and labor restructuring for large land areas. Interventions should focus on NPK optimization and precision fertilization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of open unemployment, poverty levels, and economic growth on the Human Development Index (HDI). HDI serves as a crucial indicator reflecting the quality of life in terms of health, education, and a decent standard of living. Utilizing time series data from 2013 to 2022 and employing multiple linear regression analysis, this research examines the relationship between these macroeconomic variables and human development achievements. The findings reveal that both poverty and open unemployment have a significant negative impact on HDI, while economic growth does not show a statistically significant effect. These results suggest that improving human development quality is not solely dependent on economic growth, but is strongly influenced by lower levels of unemployment and poverty. Therefore, policy strategies focused on reducing unemployment and poverty are essential to sustainably enhance human development.

Abstract

Financial cooperatives are steadily being identified as the necessary means to expand access to low-cost financial services, especially in emerging economies where high proportions of the population are not yet included in formal financial systems. This article is a comparative analysis of financial cooperatives in Tanzania and Indonesia, with emphasis on the role in promoting financial inclusion, financial regulations, and new digital developments. Based on secondary analysis of national surveys, government reports, and academic research, the analysis identifies the achievements and current issues of both countries. Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOS), a component of the tiered microfinance system in the Bank of Tanzania, have been brought into the picture, and formal financial inclusion has increased to 76% in 2023 (FinScope Tanzania, 2023). Cooperatives in Indonesia include Koperasi Simpan Pinjam (KSP) and Islamic Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT), and financial inclusion is 80.51% in 2025 (OJK, 2025). The results show that Tanzania has been improving in agricultural financing and mobile-money integration and Indonesia in sharia-compliant cooperative financing and in support of SMEs. The comparative analysis implies the possibility of cross-learning: Tanzania may learn models of the Indonesian sharia and literacy programs, whereas Indonesia may learn the experience of the Tanzanian tiered regulatory system and the practice of agrifinance. The analysis concludes that the two systems continue to need professionalization, integration into the digital realm, and better governance to spur inclusive growth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of a catering business in Samarinda by reviewing four main aspects, namely marketing, operations, legality, and finance. The background of this study is based on the increasing trend of culinary businesses in Indonesia that utilize digital marketing strategies as the main means of expanding their market reach. The research method uses a mixed method approach, namely qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative approach was used to analyze business strategies, operational activities, and the implementation of business legality, while the quantitative approach was applied to assess financial feasibility through the indicators of NPV, IRR, PP, and BEP. The results show that the business is feasible with a positive NPV of IDR 264,833, an IRR of 14.60%, a payback period of 2.3 years, and a BEP at 58% of production capacity. In addition to being financially feasible, this business has also fulfilled legal aspects through the establishment of the business entity and the ownership of an NIB and NPWP. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating digital marketing strategies with business feasibility analysis to create a competitive, innovative, and sustainable culinary business in the competitive digital era.

Abstract

This study examined the effects of corporate governance on financial performance of companies in Nigeria. The study used both cross-sectional and time series data extracted from financial reports of six (6) conglomerate industries from 2017 to 2023. The study employed descriptive, correlation and panel estimation techniques. Thereafter, Hausman test was conducted to know which of the model between fixed and random could be relied on for prediction. The result of the Hausman test indicated that random effect model is more reliable and the outcome showed that board composition and audit committee exhibited an insignificant negative relationship on financial performance of firms in Nigeria, gender diversity showed a positive but insignificant effect while the effect of board size is significant and positively related to financial performance of firms in Nigeria. Based on the results, the study suggested expanding the size (membership) of the board while adhering to the highest number permitted by the company's corporate governance rules. Businesses should make an effort to guarantee that board members are independent, meaning that they are not hired by the company in any capacity.

Abstract

The simultaneous pursuit of operational efficiency and strict data sovereignty presents a critical dilemma for modern urban logistics, particularly within the constrained infrastructure of developing economies. While Federated Learning (FL) offers a decentralized pathway to mitigate privacy risks, its direct application in Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) networks is frequently compromised by heterogeneous data quality and prohibitive communication overhead. To resolve these limitations, this study proposes a Privacy-Preserving V2X Federated Learning (PPVFL) framework specifically engineered for sustainable last-mile delivery. Unlike conventional approaches that treat data quality and privacy as separate domains, the proposed method enforces a strict local outlier filtering protocol to sanitize traffic beacons at the source, integrated synergistically with sparse ternary compression and differential privacy. This unified architecture not only safeguards sensitive driver trajectories against model inversion attacks but also drastically reduces the bandwidth consumption required for global model aggregation. Empirical validation using real-world logistics data from Vietnam demonstrates that delegating quality control to the network edge enables the framework to outperform centralized and basic federated baselines in both prediction accuracy and energy efficiency. These findings articulate a scalable solution for green logistics that reconciles the trade-off between robust traffic modeling and compliance with stringent data protection standards.
