Abstract

This research aims to examine the religious values contained in the Kidung Dewa Yadnya during the implementation of Religious Rituals. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature review approach. The results show that Kidung Dewa Yadnya not only serves as an accompaniment to rituals but also as a medium for instilling religious values such as Theological Values (Brahman Sradha), Devotional Values (Kirtanam), and inner and outer self-purification. These values are reflected in the song's lyrics and melodies, which direct worshippers' concentration toward transcendental aspects, strengthen faith, and shape religious character. Kidung Dewa Yadnya also serves as a means of internalizing Hindu teachings through the concepts of Tri Rna and Panca Sradha. This research contributes to the development of religion-based religious character and the preservation of Hindu culture in the modern era.

In Bali, religion and tradition are inseparable. The island’s diverse regions each have their own distinct customs, making cultural diversity the lifeblood of Balinese society. Balinese culture is rich in traditions of mutual cooperation, passed down from ancestors. The island’s unique culture, stunning natural scenery, and warm hospitality make it a compelling destination for tourists. One notable tradition abserved during religious ceremonies at temples in Bali is Maprani. This activity is specifically conducted during the Pujawali ceremony at the Kahyangan Tiga Temple in Sempidi Village. The Maprani tradition is believed to foster tolerance among people and showcase the strength and resilience of Balinese women. During the ceremony, participants walk in orderly procession towards the temple, skillfully carrying gebogan on their heads. This study examines the Maprani tradition in Sempidi Village within the context of globalization. Using an observational approach, the research involves direct visits to witness and document the Maprani tradition. This study draws on relevant literatur to support theories related to tradition. Addtionally, in-depth interviews with key figures from Sempidi Village provide valuable insights into the Maprani tradition. Abstract

Sedulur Papat Limo Pancer is an ancient cosmological teaching of the Nusantara that continues to be embraced by Javanese and Balinese communities, including among transmigrants. This study aims to explore the understanding and practice of Sedulur Papat Limo Pancer among Javanese-Hindu and Balinese-Hindu transmigrants in the Toili region, Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi. A qualitative approach was employed, using theories of cultural change and religion as the analytical framework. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with informants selected purposively. The findings reveal that Balinese-Hindu transmigrants recognize four types of Sedulur Papat: Kanda Pat Rare, Kanda Pat Bhuta, Kanda Pat Sari, and Kanda Pat Dewa, whereas Javanese-Hindu transmigrants do not classify them in such specific terms. The practice of this teaching encompasses spiritual and ritual activities, such as cultivating compassion to foster inner peace and harmony in life; ritual practices include offerings (sesajian), weton fasting, melek/jagra (night vigil), and meditation (manekung).
