Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out about the strategy of distributing zakat funds by LAZ Persis KLP Cipedes Tasikmalaya in increasing mustahik empowerment in Cipedes District. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach and collects data using field research methods with data collection techniques through interviews. The results showed that the strategy of distributing zakat funds at LAZ Persis KLP Cipedes Tasikmalaya uses various work programs such as caring people, shaleh people, smart people, healthy people, and independent people and collaborates with various parties. However, the obstacle in distributing zakat funds lies in the regional apparatus in collecting data on zakat recipients because they do not meet the criteria as mustahik, so that the distribution of zakat funds is not on target and uneven. Therefore, there is a need for government intervention to strengthen the supervision system, improve transparency and optimize administrative processes in distributing zakat funds. This finding has implications so that the distribution of zakat funds can be carried out evenly and on target. Keywords: Strategy, Distribution, Zakat, Mustahik

Abstract

This study explores the optimization of professional zakat collection among civil servant teachers (ASN) in Parepare City, focusing on the roles of Zakat Collecting Units (UPZ), direct salary deductions, and BAZNAS socialization programs. Using a qualitative field study approach, data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation at BAZNAS Parepare. The findings reveal a substantial zakat potential from ASN teachers, estimated at IDR 2,706,480,000 annually, yet the actual collection in 2022 only reached about IDR 600,000,000. The gap is attributed to limited knowledge regarding zakat obligations, economic constraints, and the distribution of zakat funds to various amil zakat institutions. BAZNAS Parepare has implemented strategic measures, including establishing UPZ in government agencies, direct zakat deductions from salaries, and intensive socialization to increase awareness and compliance. The collected zakat is allocated to eight eligible groups (asnaf), with a focus on economic empowerment programs such as business capital assistance and productive facilities for mustahik. These initiatives have shown positive impacts, enabling some mustahik to become muzakki. The study concludes that optimizing professional zakat, especially from ASN teachers, can significantly contribute to poverty alleviation and economic empowerment in Parepare. Further efforts are needed to enhance zakat literacy, strengthen regulations, and innovate collection methods for maximum impact.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the utilization of the BAZNAS Information Management System (SiMBA) in zakat management efforts and to determine the application of SiMBA in optimizing zakat management at BAZNAS Enrekang Regency. This research seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of how SiMBA is implemented and utilized in BAZNAS operations, as well as to examine the effectiveness of the system in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of zakat management in the region. This research uses a qualitative phenomenology approach, involving data reduction from interviews, observations, and documents for narrative analysis. The research is located at the BAZNAS Office of Enrekang Regency. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity is tested through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. Data analysis uses reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the use of SiMBA at BAZNAS Enrekang Regency has not been fully optimized due to several constraints in its implementation, such as incomplete muzakki data and the need for continuous application updates

Abstract

This study examines the role of the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) of KUA Maiwa in raising the awareness of the farming community towards the obligation of agricultural zakat amidst the low level of awareness, especially regarding agricultural zakat, although the potential for zakat from the agricultural sector in the Maiwa area, Enrekang Regency, is very large. This low awareness is influenced by the lack of public understanding of agricultural zakat and the limited socialization conducted by UPZ KUA Maiwa, plus the challenges in gathering farmer groups for socialization. Qualitative methods through observation, interviews, and documentation were used to understand the role of UPZ KUA in raising community awareness. The results revealed that the level of awareness of the Maiwa community in paying agricultural zakat is still very low, caused by the lack of understanding and effectiveness of socialization. UPZ KUA Maiwa faces significant challenges in carrying out the socialization of agricultural zakat, including the lack of participation of farmers and the existence of misconceptions among the community regarding zakat. Therefore, this study concludes that there is a need for a more intensive socialization strategy and involving various elements of society to increase public awareness and compliance in paying agricultural zakat, so that the potential of zakat can be optimized for common welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of collaboration between the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) of Soreang Sub-district in Parepare City and various stakeholders in optimizing the certification of waqf land. The background of this research lies in the fact that many waqf lands remain uncertified due to low legal awareness, complex administrative procedures, and a lack of inter-agency coordination. Utilizing a qualitative field research approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving key actors such as KUA, the National Land Agency (BPN), the Sub-district Government, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The findings reveal that multi-party collaboration—led by KUA with technical support from BPN and administrative facilitation from the Sub-district Government and the Ministry—effectively accelerates the certification process. This collaboration not only enhances the legal security of waqf assets but also strengthens social synergy in the sustainable management of religious endowments. These insights are expected to serve as a model for other regions in improving waqf governance through strategic collaborative approaches.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is the fulfillment of agricultural zakat is fulfilled in the Muzara’ah system in agricultural land, this study contributes to farmers and landowners and the community to maximize the potential of agricultural products so that zakat obligations can be fulfilled more effectively and fairly by the parties involved in agricultural cooperation. This study uses a qualitative approach and collects data using field research methods, with data collection techniques through interviews. The results of the study indicate that the sustainable Muzara’ah based agricultural zakat fulfillment model in Duampanua District, Pinrang Regency requires efforts to increase farmers’ understanding of zakat obligations in accordance with the agricultural products they manage. Although there are two profit sharing systems applied, zakat awareness among farmers is still limited, especially related to agricultural zakat in the context of Muzara’ah. Further counseling is needed to improve the understanding of farmers and landowners. Although the Muzara’ah system is generally in accordance with Islamic economic principles, challenges arise due to doubts regarding oral agreements. Therefore, strengthening the role of BAZNAS and UPZ at the sub district level, as well as utilizing cooperation with Islamic missionary institutions is very important so that zakat ibligations can be implemented optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

Analysis of the effectiveness of productive zakat management on the empowerment of mustahik in Pinrang Regency (case study of BAZNAS Pinrang Regency). The objectives of this study are to determine: (1) The form of productive zakat management at BAZNAS Pinrang Regency. (2) The effectiveness of methods or strategies of productive zakat management on the empowerment of mustahik at BAZNAS Pinrang Regency. This study used a qualitative research method with field research and data collection methods consisting of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study show that: (1) The form of productive zakat management at BAZNAS Pinrang Regency is carried out through the Pinrang Peduli program, which is divided into traditional productive and creative productive programs and is specifically aimed at mustahik who will build businesses or develop existing businesses. (2) The effectiveness of the methods or strategies in productive zakat management for the empowerment of mustahik at BAZNAS Pinrang Regency is considered quite effective, as seen from how BAZNAS created the methods, namely, first, through planning. This planning is categorized by means of organization, implementation, mobilization, and supervision. Second, data collection or selection of mustahik needs to be carried out in empowering mustahik. This is because it is considered to provide effectiveness in the management of zakat so that assistance is not misdirected.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman petani padi tentang zakat pertanian dan implementasinya di Kelurahan Maccorawalie Kabupaten Pinrang. Zakat merupakan salah satu rukun Islam yang wajib ditunaikan bagi setiap Muslim yang telah mencapai nisab, termasuk hasil pertanian. Namun, di Kelurahan Maccorawalie yang memiliki lahan persawahan luas, masih banyak petani yang belum memahami ketentuan zakat pertanian dengan baik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman petani tentang zakat pertanian masih sangat rendah; sebagian besar belum mengetahui ketentuan zakat hasil pertanian dan cenderung menyamakan zakat dengan sedekah. Implementasi zakat pertanian juga belum optimal, di mana para petani masih menyalurkan zakat secara tradisional langsung kepada fakir miskin atau pengurus masjid tanpa melalui lembaga resmi seperti BAZNAS. Hal ini disebabkan oleh minimnya pengetahuan dan kurangnya penyuluhan dari lembaga pengelola zakat. Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya edukasi dan pendampingan intensif bagi petani agar kesadaran berzakat, khususnya zakat pertanian, dapat meningkat di masyarakat.

Abstract

Kewajiban zakat dalam Islam memiliki makna yang sangat fundamental, tidak hanya berkaitan dengan aspek ketuhanan tetapi juga menyangkut dimensi ekonomi dan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami implementasi dan efektivitas pengelolaan zakat, infak, dan sedekah produktif dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesadaran masyarakat dalam membayar zakat masih sangat rendah, terlihat dari minimnya dana yang berhasil dihimpun serta kurang efisiennya tata cara pengumpulan. Dalam pendistribusian dana zakat, infak, dan sedekah produktif, Lazismu menerapkan sistem pengembalian dana bagi penerima modal usaha kecil dengan metode penitipan kaleng untuk menyisihkan sebagian pendapatan setiap hari tanpa ketetapan jumlah. Meskipun demikian, hasil pendistribusian dana ini menunjukkan dampak positif, di mana penerima bantuan merasakan peningkatan kesejahteraan dan perubahan kehidupan ke arah yang lebih baik melalui usaha yang dijalankan.

Abstract

This study examines the empowerment program of business carts managed by BAZNAS Palangka Raya aimed at improving the income and welfare of mustahik. The program is conducted through stages including socialization, data collection, verification, recipient determination, aid distribution, and monitoring and evaluation. The research uses a qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. Results show the program positively impacts mustahik with significant income increases. Daily income rose from Rp 50,000–300,000 to Rp 150,000–400,000, depending on business type and location. Besides economic improvement, the program enhances mustahik’s confidence and social independence. Challenges include limited monitoring and marketing difficulties. Hence, strengthening mentoring, entrepreneurial training, and access to marketing and further financing are necessary for sustainable and optimized empowerment. The program serves as an effective model of productive zakat empowerment to alleviate micro-poverty in Palangka Raya
