Background: Skateboarding is a sport that utilizes a wheeled board as its equipment. As time progresses, skateboarding has evolved into one of the branches of professional sports, even having official competitions. It is popular among a wide range of young people and adults. Skateboarders must have good balance to stabilize their bodies and minimize the risk of falling and injury. It is maintaining balance while skateboarding requires strength in leg muscles, including flexors, extensors, dorsiflexors, plantar flexors, invertors, and evertors, with proper contraction ratios to stay balanced. The researchers aimed to investigate the relationship between leg muscle strength and dynamic balance in skateboard players. Skateboard players with greater leg muscle strength tend to maintain their balance better when performing tricks and maneuvers on the skateboard. Methods: The research was observational analytics with a cross-sectional approach. Purposive sampling was employed to select participants, resulting in a sample size of 51 skateboarders. Data collection involved measuring leg muscle strength and dynamic balance. Leg muscle strength was measured using a leg dynamometer, while dynamic balance was assessed using the y balance test. Results: The results showed a relationship between leg muscle strength and dynamic balance in skateboarders. Most samples exhibit muscular leg muscle strength, leading to a favorable dynamic balance. Conclusion: From the research findings, it can be concluded that there is a strong, significant, and inverse relationship between leg muscle strength and dynamic balance in skateboarders.
Relationship between work posture and core muscle endurance with lower back disability among farmers: a cross-sectional study

Background: Farmers rely on physical performance for their livelihood, and non-ergonomic working postures can lead to lower back pain, reducing core muscle endurance and resulting in lower back disability. This study examines the relationship between work posture and core muscle endurance with lower back disability among farmers. Methods: This research used an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional study. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The total sample obtained in this study was 106 participants. Data collection included posture assessment using the rapid entire body assessment (REBA), measurement of core muscle endurance using the prone bridge test, and measurement of lower back disability using the modified Oswestry disability index (MODI). The inclusion criteria for this study were farmers aged 26-45 working as farmers in Pancasari Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency. Conversely, the exclusion criteria were the presence of a history of Spearman's rho and a condition of injury that limits the prone bridge test. Furthermore, the obtained data was analyzed using Spearman's rho test. Results: The non-parametric analysis of work posture on lower back disability obtained a p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of r = 0.849. Core muscle endurance against lower back disability obtained a value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient r = -0.825, which is statistically significant that the higher the work posture score of the subject has means the higher incidence of lower back disability and also the higher of core muscle endurance the subject has, mean lower incidence of lower back disability among farmers. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship, with a high correlation, between work posture and core muscle endurance and the occurrence of lower back disability in farmers.

Background: Futsal is a sport that involves using the feet to manipulate the ball and score as many goals as possible to reach the opponent's goal. It is crucial to have a strong command of basic techniques, including proficient dribbling skills. Dribbling talent is essential to getting past opponents' control and creating goal-scoring opportunities. The higher a player's skill in dribbling the ball, the greater his chances of winning. This study aimed to determine the potential correlation between leg muscle power and ball dribbling skills in futsal players. Methods: This study used observational analytical methods with a cross-sectional approach. Consecutive sampling was the technique used for the sampling process. This research was carried out from September to December 2023 at My Stadium Futsal Arena. A total of 89 people were recruited to participate in this study. In data collection, participants' leg muscle power was measured using a vertical jump test, and their dribbling skills were assessed using a dribbling test. Results: There was a significant relationship between leg muscle power and dribbling skills in futsal players. The higher the leg muscle power value, the better futsal players' dribbling skills. Conclusion: The findings indicated a correlation between leg muscle power and ball dribbling skills in futsal players.

Background: A sedentary lifestyle greatly affects a person's life. Inactive lifestyle changes can result in increased neck disability. Sedentary behavior can also affect vascular, metabolic, and autonomic systems. This study aimed to determine the relationship between a sedentary lifestyle, neck disability, and high blood pressure in bank employees. Methods: The research method used is an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional approach and a sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. The number of samples obtained was 93 samples aged 18-55 years. The independent variable measured was sedentary lifestyle using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) questionnaire. The dependent variables measured were neck disability using the Neck Disability Index (NDI) questionnaire and high blood pressure measured using a sphygmomanometer. Results: Based on the non-parametric Spearman Rho test, a value of p = 0.001 (p < 0.05) was obtained, which showed that there was a significant relationship between a sedentary lifestyle and neck disability and high blood pressure and the value of the correlation coefficient ranging from r = -0.831 to -0.928 and negative values indicating an undirected relationship with a very high level of correlation. Based on the results of multivariate analysis with regression logistic tests showed a significant relationship between a sedentary lifestyle and neck disability and high blood pressure characterized by p values < 0.05. Conclusion: Based on the study's results, there is a negative relationship between a sedentary lifestyle and neck disability and high blood pressure in bank employees. When a sedentary lifestyle shows low measurement results, it will indicate that the individual has a neck disability and high blood pressure.

Background: Teenage basketball athletes may experience problems with lower limb muscle strength, which can affect their performance due to factors such as the shape of the arches pedis, muscle length and shortness, fatigue levels, muscle contraction ability, and the presence of flat feet, where the medial arch is flattened against the ground. This study aimed to determine the relationship between flat feet and lower limb muscle strength in adolescent basketball athletes in Tabanan Regency. Methods: This study's design was observational analytic with a cross-sectional study direction. It was conducted at junior high and high schools in Tabanan Regency and involved 62 teenage basketball athletes. The inclusion criteria were basketball athletes with flat feet aged 14-17, while the exclusion criteria were a history of fracture or lower limb injury. Lower limb muscle strength was measured using a leg dynamometer, while flat foot was assessed using a wet footprint test. Results: The result of the association test using Spearman’s Rho Test obtained a correlation coefficient value (r) -0.173, which means a unidirectional relationship with a very weak correlation level with a p-value=0.180 (p<0.05), which means there is no significant relationship. Conclusion: There was no relationship between flat foot and lower limb muscle strength in teenage basketball athletes. The correlation coefficient value indicates a unidirectional relationship with a very weak correlation level.

Background: Low back pain is a musculoskeletal disorder caused by incorrect ergonomic conditions at work. It is located at the inferior gluteal fold and the coastal border and lasts more than 24 hours. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of low back pain complaints in handcrafters. Methods: This research used an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The inclusion criteria for this study were handcrafters of serati banten aged 45-55. In contrast, the exclusion criteria were injuries in the lower back region. The total number of respondents who participated in this study was 50 people. The research location was in Gianyar, Bali. Data was collected from January to October 2023. Data were collected by measuring VAS and REBA. VAS measured the severity and relief of pain, while the REBA questionnaire analyzed work posture. Results: The results of research regarding the prevalence of low back pain in handcrafters of serati banten in Gianyar Regency based on internal factors showed the majority experienced low back pain of mild intensity (60%), and external factors showed that the majority of pain incidents occurred in respondents with a working period of >5 years (52%), working in a sitting position (56%) with moderate risk working postures (64%). Conclusion: The frequency of low back pain occurrences due to external factors was dominated by respondents with less than five years of working experience who worked in a sitting position with a medium-risk work posture.

Background: The widespread usage of cell phones may encourage everyone to rely more on technology in all aspects of their lives. However, if technology use in daily tasks is not balanced with physical exercise, musculoskeletal problems may develop. The most common concern associated with this syndrome is forward head posture. This study aimed to determine whether giving cervical stabilization and thoracic spine extension exercises can increase neck functional ability for forward head posture patients. Methods: The study used an experimental design. There were 23 physiotherapy students of Universitas 'Aisyiyah Yogyakarta as samples for this study, who had forward head posture and underwent measurement of neck functional ability by using the neck disability index (NDI). The independent administrator randomly assigned the treatment and control groups. The interventions were s conducted three times a week for four weeks. Data analysis employed a paired sample T-test to assess the effect of treatment and control groups. An independent sample T-test was used to compare the impact of treatments and control groups. Results: The results of the paired sample T-test in treatment and control groups, with p-values=0.001, indicate that both interventions improved the functional ability of the neck. The difference between treatment and control groups tested by the independent sample T-test shows p-value=0.062 for the pre-test and (p-value=0.444), suggesting no difference in effectiveness between cervical stabilization and thoracic spine extension on neck functional ability for forward head posture conditions. Conclusion: There was no difference in the effect of cervical stabilization and thoracic spine extension on the functional ability of the neck for forward head posture.

Background: Quality sleep is important for recovery, but adolescents often experience sleep disturbances during puberty. Low physical activity, such as playing online games, and stress from many tasks can reduce their sleep quality. This study aimed to determine whether there is a relationship between physical activity level and stress on sleep quality in adolescents. Methods: This research used observational analytics method with a cross-sectional design. The study used apurposive sampling of 232 people in junior high schools in Denpasar. The inclusion criteria were teenagers aged 16-17, while the exclusion criteria were respondents who smoked, drank alcoholic beverages, and took sleeping pills. Data were collected by measuring physical activity levels using the international physical activity questionnaire (IPAQ), stress using the depression anxiety and stress scale (DASS-21), and sleep quality using the Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI). Results: Based on the results of the non-parametric analysis of Spearman Rho, it showed that there was a relationship between physical activity and sleep quality with a significance value of p = 0.001 (p <0.05) correlation coefficient (r = 0.464). There was a relationship between stress and sleep quality with a value of p = 0.001 (p <0.05) correlation coefficient (r = 0.671). Conclusion: Based on the results, it could be concluded that there was a relationship between physical activity level and sleep quality in adolescents. There was also a relationship between stress and sleep quality in adolescents.

Background: Bali is a popular tourist destination because of its unique culture. One of its unique features is the Balinese dance, which is used to welcome guests, perform arts, and perform religious ceremonies. Many Balinese dancers experience generalized joint hypermobility (GJH) without realizing it, which may have a negative impact on them, especially if they have a problem of musculoskeletal pain. Methods: This research used an analytical observational design of a cross-sectional study. This study employed the sampling technique of purposive technique with a total sampling method. The inclusion criteria for this study were traditional Balinese dancers living in Denpasar city, female, aged 14-20, and having dancing experience more than 1 year. Exclusion criteria were subjects after surgery for fractures or other musculoskeletal injuries in the upper or lower extremities, subjects with signs of acute inflammation in the joints, and those unwilling to be research subjects. The number of samples was calculated using the lame show formula, and 85 samples were obtained. Data was collected by measuring GJH and musculoskeletal disorders using the Nordic body map questionnaire. Results: Based on the bivariate analysis test with Spearman's rho, p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05) was obtained for the two independent variables with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.797. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between GJH and MSDs in the Balinese dancer population in Denpasar City.

Background: Crossfit is a high-intensity sport that has the potential for injury risk. Upper cross syndrome posture increases muscle tension in the upper region, resulting in pressure on the neck and shoulders, pain, numbness, and decreased body function. This research aimed to determine the relationship between upper cross syndrome posture and shoulder functionality among cross fitter in Bali. Methods: The study was an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design conducted from November 2023 to February 2024 with the main target population for this study being CrossFit practitioners at Crossfit Bali who experienced upper cross syndrome posture. The exclusion criterion is a history of a shoulder injury. The sample size was 50 people who had upper cross syndrome posture. This study used purposive sampling and the measurement of upper cross syndrome posture was used the REEDCO posture test Tragus to Wall test and Shoulder Pain and Disability Index. Results: It was found that 35 people had forward heads, 30 people had rounded shoulders, 33 people had uneven shoulders, and 8 people had tilted heads. Results of the decrease in functional shoulder using the SPADI test showed a mild decrease in 47 people (94%) and a moderate decrease in 3 people (6%). Results of the correlation test with the Spearman rho test, which is 0.647, it is stated the results are not related. Conclusion: There was no relationship between upper cross syndrome and functional shoulders in CrossFit in Bali.
