Abstract

This article explains the importance of conducting a needs analysis in developing an English language course for an open curriculum. The independent curriculum is a learning framework that aims to holistically improve students' English language skills while considering local needs and contexts. In this context, needs analysis has become an important stage in ensuring that the material, techniques, and evaluation in the English language course meet the needs of students. The article discusses the importance of needs analysis in designing English language courses. Needs analysis helps determine appropriate learning objectives and guides curriculum development. The curriculum can be designed to integrate relevant and practical language skills while comprehensively assessing student needs. Additionally, needs analysis allows for the customization of learning programs to student characteristics. Each group of students has unique backgrounds, interests, and demands. By studying students' needs specifically, teachers can select and design resources that are appropriate for their skill level, interests, and context. This will encourage students to learn. The article also emphasizes the importance of involving students in the needs analysis process

Abstract

This study used library research research methods to investigate curriculum approaches in English language teaching in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to identify curriculum approaches commonly used in English language teaching in Indonesia and to understand how these approaches shape teaching methods and strategies applied in language classrooms. In this study, the author conducted a comprehensive literature review of relevant literature, including textbooks, research journals, articles, and education policies related to English language teaching in Indonesia. The data collected were analyzed qualitatively to identify curriculum approaches commonly used in the context of English language teaching in Indonesia. The results of this study show that some curriculum approaches commonly used in English teaching in Indonesia include content-based approaches, communicative approaches, task-based approaches, and grammar-based approaches. The selection of this curriculum approach is based on the goals and objectives of the program, as well as the needs and interests of learners. In conclusion, in Indonesia, English teaching is influenced by various curriculum approaches, which shape the methods and strategies applied in language classes. The choice of curriculum approach in English language teaching depends on the goals and objectives of the program, as well as the needs and interests of learners. Different approaches can be used in combination to create a comprehensive and effective language learning experience so that language learners can easily master the language in a formal setting.

Abstract

This research aims in order to help teachers and students create an effective and current curriculum that includes strategic approaches, teaching methods, and descriptions of challenges and solutions in implementing language learning, the goal of this research is to explain an innovative approach to teaching English to non-native speakers of the language. English taught in Indonesian classrooms A approach for conducting library research was used. Data acquisition through documentation ISI analysis is the method employed. Because Indonesia's educational system was in crisis when this study was being written, it was decided to base its findings on ideas that are frequently utilized in teaching English. The principles of communication, empathy for others, knowledge integration, project-based learning, and technology utilization have been stated above.

Abstract

Foreign language education in Indonesia is evolving with the progress of globalization and increasing exchanges between countries. One of the key aspects of foreign language teaching is the curriculum approach used in the learning process. The purpose of this article is to analyze the curriculum approach used in foreign language teaching in Indonesia. This approach encompasses a variety of curriculum design methods and strategies and focuses on key aspects of foreign language learning. The purpose of this article is to examine curricular approaches to foreign language teaching in Indonesia. This type of research is qualitative research (qualitative research). Qualitative research seeks to understand and interpret the meaning of events in specific situations from the researcher's unique perspective. Qualitative research is a research-based process for understanding the problems of understanding and interpreting texts and creating big pictures from words in a scientific setting. The data collection method used in this study is a data collection method using the library search method. The results of this study demonstrate that this approach has been used as a perspective for curriculum development. Each institution takes a different approach depending on the educational goals they are trying to achieve.

Abstract

This study discusses the importance of textbook evaluation in education to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the learning process. Textbooks not only present information but also assist teachers in designing the curriculum, crafting learning activities, and assessing student progress. Therefore, a comprehensive evaluation of textbooks is crucial to assess their suitability for educational needs. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach and utilizes the evaluation instrument developed by Mike Horsley and Kevin Laws to evaluate the "My Best Reading" textbook. The evaluation results provide valuable insights into the strengths and weaknesses of the textbook and its contribution to improving the quality of educational materials. However, the study has limitations that need to be considered in designing more comprehensive recommendations for enhancing instructional materials.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pentingnya etika dan kode etik guru terhadap siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur. Data ini diperoleh dari berbagai sumber ilmiah, misalnya buku dan artikel dari jurnal yang terbit 2017 hingga 2024. Hasil penelitian mununjukkan bahwa pendidikan memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk generasi masa depan yang beretika dan beradab. Guru memiliki peran kunci dalam membantu siswa mengembangkan nilai-nilai etika dan moral yang diperlukan untuk hidup yang adil dan jujur. Oleh karena itu, pentingnya etika dan kode etik guru terhadap siswa tidak dapat dipandang remeh. Guru yang memiliki etika dan kode etik yang baik dapat membantu siswa mengembangkan kejujuran, kesadaran diri, dan kemampuan berkomunikasi yang efektif. Mereka juga dapat membantu siswa mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan membuat keputusan yang bijak. Dengan demikian, siswa dapat menjadi individu yang beretika dan beradab, serta memiliki kemampuan untuk menjadi bagian dari masyarakat yang lebih baik. Selain itu, etika dan kode etik guru juga dapat membantu siswa mengembangkan potensi diri mereka, kepercayaan diri dan rasa aman. Ketika guru memiliki etika dan kode etik yang baik. Jadi guru harus meningkatkan kualitas dan martabat profesinya. Dalam proses pengajaran di sekolah etika juga sangat penting dan guru juga harus memiliki sifat-sifat yang baik, seperti berpikir terbuka, kritis, inovatif, dan percaya diri, serta mampu menerapkan nilai-nilai humaniora yang sesuai dengan bidang keahliannya.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi kemampuan guru sebagai tenaga pendidik dalam usaha memajukan standar pendidikan serta strategi yang diterapkan untuk meningkatkan keahlian profesional guru. Metode yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis literatur dengan memanfaatkan sumber referensi terkait seperti jurnal, Artikel Ilmiah dan Buku. Hasil penelitian Peningkatan profesionalisme guru dan mutu pembelajaran menjadi topik artikel ini. Faktor-faktor berikut harus dipertimbangkan ketika guru meningkatkan profesionalisme mereka: 1) Apa itu profesionalisme; 2) Seberapa cepat ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, dan seni berkembang; 3) Paradigma pembelajaran sepanjang hayat; dan 4) UU Nomor 14 Tahun 2005 tentang kriteria guru dan dosen.
