This article was aimed to discuss the quality of test in textbook, specifically addressing: 1) the type of test used, 2) the level of Blooms taxonomy and 3) the quality of tests which included (a) the objective test, and (b) the subjective test. The method used in this research was the incorporation of quantitative approach and qualitative approach. Textbook used in this study was âProgress A Contextual Approach to Learning English (An English Textbook for Senior High School)â. This textbook was based on Education Unit Level Curriculum/SBC (School Based Curriculum). This book was used on the high school level. The result of the study were as follows: 1) there were two types of test used in the textbook: objective and subjective tests, 2) there were two levels of Bloomâs taxonomy to measure the test: knowledge and comprehension, 3) as for the quality of test, (a) the objective test which were multiple choice items and true-false items were in category of good, whereas matching items was found in category of poor and (b) the subjective test which were Yes No Question, WH Question, and completion items included into category of poor.

Pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan pendekan qurâani menjadi Ada 3 (tiga) kriteria yang dapat dijadikan dasar penilaian terhadap buku ini, yaitu dari segi tujuan (goal), isi (content), dan kesesuaian (suitability).Dari segi tujuan (goal), penulis melihat kenyataan bahwa sedikitnya buku-buku sumber pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang dihubungkan dengan ajaran Islam. Buku ini bertujuan untuk menambah perbendaharaan buku yang dapat menjadi acuan untuk mengembangkan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris secara kreatif dan inovatif di lingkungan pendidikan Islam seperti MI, MTs, MA dan Perguruan Tinggi Islam.Dari segi isi (content), seperti disebutkan sebelumnya bahwa buku ini dibuat dalam 7 (tujuh) bab, dengan urutannya lebih sesusai dengan teori kebahasaan karena menyimak (listening) dan berbicara (speaking) merupakan receptive skills (keahlian bersifat menerima/pemahaman) sementara membaca (reading) dan menulis (writing) merupakan productive skills (keahlian bersifat menghasilkan). Dari segi kesesuaian/kecocokan (suitability), buku ini sesuai dengan eksistensi lembaga pendidikan Islam yang tidak hanya mengedepankan transfer ilmu pengetahuan (transfer of knowledge) tetapi juga transfer nilai (transfer of values) dengan melakukan pendekatan secara Qurâani.Â

This study aims to find out what moral values are represented in an EFL textbook for Indonesian Junior High School students: “When English Rings a Bell”. This study used a qualitative research. This study was be focused on the English textbook "When English Rings a Bell" produced by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia for eighth grade junior high school students. The data are collected using content analysis methods. The findings revealed the total frequencies from chapter one until chapter thirteen from the least to the most apparent in the English Textbook “When English Rings a Bell”. The result of the data also showed the most frequently moral values that appeared in this English textbook are Discipline (20%), Hard work (16%), Love to Read (9%). These three words the most apparent in the particular chapter of the English textbook and they related to the eighteen moral values in the table.

Teachers’ beliefs play a fundamental role in building the foundation for the teachers’ classroom practices. Beliefs determine what they say and do. The present study investigates teachers’ beliefs related to infusing moral values in their teaching practices. The data were collected through interview with six foreign language teachers (three Arabic teachers and three English teachers) who participated in the study. Finding indicated that the teachers hold a variety of beliefs about; a) the moral values, b) the ways they used to nurture moral values, and c) the factors that influence the instillation of moral values. The findings suggest that future researchers could deploy methods such as observation, document analysis, and other methods to provide a more comprehensive understanding and depiction of how moral values are viewed and integrated by foreign languages teachers.

This study explores the relationship between self-esteem and reading comprehension among male students at SMK Karsa Mulya. It addresses a notable phenomenon where male students often exhibit lower self-esteem compared to their female counterparts. This lower self-esteem can potentially affect various academic achievements, including reading comprehension. The aim of this research is to determine if there is a significant correlation between students' self-esteem and reading comprehension. Correlational research using quantitative methods. 53 students from Class XI for the academic year 2022/2023. SPSS 26 with the product-moment correlation method. The correlation coefficient (r) between self-esteem and reading comprehension was found to be 0.811. The significance level (p-value) was 0.00, which is less than the alpha level of 0.05. The (r table) for a sample of 53 at the 0.05 significance level is 0.279. The calculated correlation coefficient (0.811) exceeds the critical value (0.279) and the p-value (0.00) is below 0.05, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected in favor of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). The results indicate a strong positive correlation between self-esteem and reading comprehension among the male students studied. This suggests that higher self-esteem is associated with better reading comprehension skills. Improving students' self-esteem could potentially enhance their reading comprehension.

Potret kehidupan multikultural dapat dilihat di Desa Tumbang Liting dimana terdapat 3 agama yang tinggal dalam satu desa dengan aman dan damai. Akan tetapi kemajemukan ini tidak menutup kemungkinan akan terjadinya perpecahan sehingga dibutuhkan langkah preventif yang tepat untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Permasalahan yang terjadi di Desa Tumbang Liting terkait dengan penguatan moderasi beragama yaitu kurangnya tenaga pengajar yang kompeten dalam memberikan penguatan nilai moderasi beragama, sehingga dikhawatirkan akan terjadinya kesalahan pemahaman moderasi beragama sehingga menjadi perpecahan. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah mencari solusi berama penguatan nilai moderasi beragama sehingga tidak akan terjadi perpeahan dalam tubuh warga desa seperti kurangnya tenaga pengajar, kurangnya bahan ajar, dan kurangnya partisipasi masyarakat menjadi kendala dalam kegiatan ini. Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode Participatory Action Researcrh (PAR) yang diawali dengan pembahasan strategi program, aksi dan monitoring dan ditutup dengan evaluasi. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah terjadinya perubahan yang cukup signifikan terkait dengan pemahaman moderasi beragama serta perubahan dalam penggunaan tempat ibadah dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan-kegiatan keagamaan. Selain hal tersebut kenaikan ini juga dilihat dari partisipasi dan intensitas dalam kegiatan penguatan moderasi beragama diberbagai tempat ibadah

This article discusses the analysis of the format and presentation of the English course in the Merdeka Curriculum. The Merdeka Curriculum is a curriculum with an intracurricular learning system that provides teachers with the freedom to choose teaching materials according to the needs and interests of the students. English is one of the subjects programmed in the Merdeka Curriculum. The English language learning in the Merdeka Curriculum is designed to help individuals improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in English. This research adopts a library research method by collecting data and information from relevant literature sources. The collected data is analyzed through a review and understanding of existing literature. The research findings indicate that the Merdeka Curriculum provides comprehensive guidelines regarding identity, structure, teaching methods, and assessment, with a focus on flexibility in subject selection and the development of individual potential.

This research aims in order to help teachers and students create an effective and current curriculum that includes strategic approaches, teaching methods, and descriptions of challenges and solutions in implementing language learning, the goal of this research is to explain an innovative approach to teaching English to non-native speakers of the language. English taught in Indonesian classrooms A approach for conducting library research was used. Data acquisition through documentation ISI analysis is the method employed. Because Indonesia's educational system was in crisis when this study was being written, it was decided to base its findings on ideas that are frequently utilized in teaching English. The principles of communication, empathy for others, knowledge integration, project-based learning, and technology utilization have been stated above.

This study explores students' experiences in utilizing YouTube for vocabulary mastery at MA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya. Traditional methods often cause disengagement, while YouTube offers an interactive alternative through multimedia content. This research addresses: (1) How do students experience learning vocabulary through YouTube? (2) What challenges do they face? Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected via interviews with 15 students. Findings reveal that YouTube enhances engagement, motivation, and vocabulary retention through visual and contextual learning. Teachers support learning by structuring lessons, pausing videos for explanations, and incorporating interactive activities. Additionally, students use YouTube independently for self-directed learning. However, challenges include internet access issues and difficulty identifying reliable content. This study highlights YouTube’s potential as an effective vocabulary-learning tool when combined with teacher guidance and structured activities.

Pendampingan kegiatan pengenalan makhorijul huruf dengan metode Iqro di TKA/TPA Nurul Ihsan Palangkaraya bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur'an anak-anak sejak dini sesuai dengan kaidah tajwid yang benar. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan Service Learning (SL) yang terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan refleksi. Metode Iqro yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini terbukti efektif karena pendekatan CBSA (Cara Belajar Siswa Aktif) yang memudahkan anak-anak dalam memahami dan menghafal makhrajul huruf secara sistematis. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa dalam membedakan dan melafalkan huruf hijaiyah dengan lebih tepat. Selain itu, pembelajaran dilakukan secara klasikal dengan membaca dan menulis huruf Hijaiyyah, serta dievaluasi melalui buku prestasi. Dan juga kegiatan doa bersama dan shalat asar berjamaah yang diterapkan. Dengan adanya metode ini juga meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam mempelajari Al-Qur’an serta meningkatkan makhorijul huruf baik mengenali, melafalkan dan membedakan huruf Hijaiyyah dalam mengembangkan keterampilan membacanya. Dengan demikian, pendampingan ini memberikan kontribusi positif dalam pembelajaran membaca Al-Qur'an bagi anak-anak di TKA/TPA Nurul Ihsan Palangka Raya
