Abstract

Sufism is frequently perceived as a static and traditional discipline, often viewed as resistant to change and detached from contemporary intellectual developments. However, such assumptions overlook the dynamic nature of tasawuf, which demonstrates a capacity for adaptation and reinterpretation across different historical and socio-cultural contexts. This study aims to examine the essential meaning of Sufism from a terminological perspective, highlighting its conceptual flexibility and enduring relevance in guiding spiritual life. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature study method. Data were systematically collected from classical and contemporary sources on Sufism, including theological, philosophical, and ethical discourses. The collected materials were then analyzed through content analysis to identify patterns, variations, and underlying principles in defining Sufism. This method enables a comprehensive understanding of how Sufism has been articulated by various scholars and traditions. The findings reveal that the essence of Sufism cannot be confined to a single, fixed definition. Instead, it is shaped by diverse perspectives, each emphasizing different dimensions such as spiritual purification, ethical refinement, and experiential knowledge of the Divine. Despite these variations, all interpretations consistently root their foundations in the Qur'an and Sunnah. Sufism also encompasses a distinct spiritual orientation that focuses on cultivating an intimate relationship with God, often expressed in the principle “Ilāhī anta maqṣūdī wa riḍāka maṭlūbī” (O God, You are my ultimate goal, and Your pleasure is what I seek). This study contributes to the scholarly discourse by reaffirming the adaptive and contextual nature of Sufism, challenging its stereotypical portrayal as rigid and outdated. It offers a nuanced understanding that positions Sufism as a living tradition capable of engaging with modern spiritual and intellectual challenges.

Abstract

Evaluation is a fundamental instrument for measuring the achievement of goals in any organized activity, particularly in education. Within the Islamic tradition, evaluation occupies a central position, as reflected in the practices of the Prophet Muhammad in guiding, assessing, and refining the understanding and conduct of his companions. This study aims to explore and articulate the concept of educational evaluation from an Islamic perspective, emphasizing its philosophical foundations and practical implications. This research adopts a qualitative design using a literature study approach. Data were collected through documentation of classical Islamic texts, prophetic traditions, and contemporary scholarly works on Islamic education. The analysis was conducted using content analysis to identify key themes, principles, and frameworks related to evaluation. This method allows for a systematic and in-depth interpretation of normative sources and their relevance to modern educational contexts. The findings indicate that educational evaluation in Islam is inherently comprehensive and integrative, encompassing cognitive (knowledge), affective (attitudes), and psychomotor (skills) dimensions. These aspects are not treated in isolation but are viewed as interconnected components of holistic human development. The Prophet’s evaluative practices demonstrate a balanced approach, combining moral guidance, intellectual assessment, and behavioral observation. Evaluation, therefore, is not merely a tool for measuring outcomes but also a process of nurturing ethical character and spiritual awareness. This study contributes to the academic discourse by offering a conceptual framework for Islamic educational evaluation that aligns with both classical teachings and contemporary pedagogical needs. It highlights the relevance of prophetic models in developing a more holistic, value-based evaluation system capable of addressing the complexities of modern education.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to describe the product design of learning media by game tajwid matching and the impact of using this learning media for Elementary School Level. The type of the research is Research and Development based on the model of ADDIE. Data collection technique that researcher used are questionnaire and test both pre-test and post-test. And data analysis was carried the content analysis, descriptive, and T-test. The result of research conducted by researchers can be concluded that: 1) The product of development is game of tajwid matching. The product has been validated by some experts i.e. learning material expert get the percentage of 92%, media design expert get the percentage of 88%, and from the teacher get the percentage of 88%. This mean that the game is fair enough to be implemented for learning process in the class. 2) The game of tajwid matching is effective to increase the learning result. The product proven significantly to improve the learning result and be able to be seen in the average of post test score is greater than post-test (77,42>94,84). Based on the T-test calculation resulted that tcount>ttable (7,2759494>2,036933334) means that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected.

Abstract

In response to the demands of competence and learning in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia introduced the Merdeka Belajar (Freedom to Learn) policy as a strategic effort to enhance educational quality. This policy emphasizes the exploration of teachers’ and students’ potential to foster innovation and independent learning. Central to this framework is Merdeka Mengajar (Freedom to Teach), which grants teachers professional autonomy to design and implement effective learning practices. This study aims to examine the significance of teacher professional development in supporting the successful implementation of Merdeka Mengajar within contemporary educational contexts. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method. Data were collected through documentation of policy papers, academic publications, and relevant reports on teacher development and educational reform. The analysis was conducted using thematic content analysis to identify key patterns and conceptual relationships between professional autonomy, teacher competence, and learning outcomes. The findings reveal that the successful implementation of Merdeka Mengajar is highly dependent on continuous and context-sensitive professional development. Teachers are required to function as lifelong learners who are adaptive to rapid advancements in science and technology. School-based teacher professional development emerges as the most effective model, as it aligns closely with teachers’ real needs, classroom challenges, and institutional contexts. Moreover, this approach fosters the formation of professional learning communities, enabling collaborative reflection, knowledge sharing, and sustained improvement in teaching practices. This study contributes to the academic discourse by proposing a contextualized framework for teacher professional development that supports educational transformation. It underscores the importance of integrating autonomy, collaboration, and continuous learning to strengthen teacher professionalism and improve student learning outcomes in a rapidly evolving educational landscape.
