Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of da'wah values in human resource management in da'wah organizations. This study focuses on da'wah-based human resource management in the Muslim Youth of Binjai (MY Binjai) organization, a da'wah institution that actively nurtures the younger generation in the city of Binjai, particularly in secondary schools and above. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with informants consisting of the general chairman of Muslim Youth of Binjai, the head of the Student Development Department, and organizational mentors. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. All data are analyzed through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that the Muslim Youth of Binjai manages human resources in a structured manner by integrating Islamic values at every stage, from planning to evaluation. Values such as consultation, trustworthiness, noble character, and sincerity form the foundation for cadre development. This management approach is not only focused on organizational goals but also fosters loyalty, discipline, and spiritual awareness among members. These findings offer benefits for the development of Islamic values-based da'wah management and serve as a reference for other da'wah organizations in designing a comprehensive human resource management system.

Abstract

The high divorce rate in Probolinggo Regency reflects a crisis in family resilience, driven by poor communication, economic instability, and shifting values due to modernization. This article explores the local tradition of Walagara, a Tenggerese cultural wisdom rich in values such as loyalty, mutual cooperation, deliberation, and spirituality, as an alternative solution to reduce the rate of divorce. This study aims to explore how the Walagara tradition, as part of the cultural heritage of the Tengger tribe, can strengthen family values and mutual respect within households. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, this research examines the relevance of Walagara in fostering marital harmony and the challenges of its implementation in the modern era. Findings reveal that the revitalization of Walagara values can be integrated into premarital education, family dialogue practices, and digital-based educational campaigns. This strategy emphasizes the involvement of traditional leaders, religious figures, communities, and youth to reinvigorate the tradition as a form of social capital. The study concludes that Walagara should not only be preserved as cultural heritage but also applied as a practical tool to strengthen family institutions in contemporary social contexts.

Abstract

Luwak coffee, globally recognized yet ethically contested, represents one of Indonesia’s most distinctive and high-value commodities. Despite its reputation, production remains small-scale and constrained by sustainability challenges, animal welfare concerns, and supply chain inefficiencies. This study aims to analyze the structure and behavior of the civet coffee production system using a system dynamics approach. Causal loop diagrams and stock–flow models were constructed to simulate policy scenarios across population dynamics, animal health, coffee cherry availability, certification, and market reputation. The results indicate that civet population growth is positively influenced by improved health and reduced mortality, while stress levels decline under enhanced welfare practices. Certification and reputation emerge as reinforcing drivers of market acceptance but remain highly vulnerable to negative publicity regarding animal welfare. Scenario analysis demonstrates that sustainable habitat management, investment in certification, and ethical compliance not only strengthen green bean stocks but also enhance long-term production resilience. Conversely, stagnant sales trends highlight that production capacity alone is insufficient without consumer trust and reputational legitimacy. These findings imply that integrating welfare-based management, ecological sustainability, and certification-driven reputation building is essential to ensure the long-term viability and competitiveness of the civet coffee industry.

Abstract

This study addresses the increasing prevalence of burnout among working university students, a condition that threatens both their psychological well-being and academic success. Although previous research has explored the link between burnout, emotional intelligence, and performance, limited evidence exists in the context of higher education students who balance dual roles in developing countries. The present study aims to analyze the effect of burnout on the academic performance of working students, with emotional intelligence positioned as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with an explanatory design was employed, involving 300 undergraduate students from private universities in North Sumatra, Indonesia, who simultaneously study and work. Data were collected using validated instruments and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling with the Partial Least Squares method. The findings reveal that burnout significantly and negatively affects both emotional intelligence (β = –0.670, p < 0.001) and academic performance (β = –0.268, p < 0.001). Emotional intelligence exerts a positive effect on academic performance (β = 0.188, p = 0.007) and significantly mediates the relationship between burnout and performance (β = –0.126, p = 0.008). These results confirm the protective role of emotional intelligence in reducing the detrimental effects of burnout and highlight its importance in sustaining students’ academic achievement. The study contributes to theoretical advancement in burnout and emotional intelligence research while offering practical implications for higher education institutions to develop emotional regulation programs that support the resilience of working students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze employees' perspectives on the optimization of insurance use in occupational safety and health programs at PT Kereta Api Logistik. Insurance is an important instrument in providing financial protection against the risk of work accidents and occupational diseases in a logistics company environment that has a high level of risk. This study uses a qualitative approach, with data collection using in-depth interviews with 8-12 employees involved in the occupational safety and health insurance program. Data collection techniques also include direct observation and the study of relevant documentation and documents. The results show that most employees feel protected and satisfied with the insurance benefits, especially in terms of medical expenses and work accident compensation. However, insurance coverage is not comprehensive, and the claims process is still not transparent and slow. A lack of education about the claims procedure was also found. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating insurance protection with training and strengthening the safety culture. Recommendations include expanding insurance coverage, digitizing claims, improving employee education, and collaborating with competent insurance providers. With these steps, the optimization of insurance protection is expected to support the optimal success of the Occupational Safety and Health program at PT Kereta Api Logistik.

Abstract

This study examines how sharia financial literacy and trust affect continuance intention to use digital sharia insurance applications among millennials in Medan, Indonesia. A quantitative–explanatory design with a cross-sectional survey was employed (n = 100). Likert-scale instruments for sharia digital literacy, trust, and continuance intention were deemed adequate after item purification; reliability and validity were met (e.g., α_literacy = 0.810), and classical assumptions held (normality, no multicollinearity, no heteroscedasticity). Multiple linear regression (IBM SPSS v25) shows that literacy has the strongest positive effect on continuance (B = 0.329; β = 0.466; t = 9.792; p < 0.001). Trust also exerts a positive, statistically significant effect at the 10% level (t = 1.965), which is salient in sectors that have faced reputational shocks. Jointly, the two variables explain a large share of variance (Adjusted R² = 0.904; F = 70.614; p < 0.001), aligning with TAM/TPB logic: literacy elevates perceived usefulness/ease of use, while trust reduces perceived risk and strengthens perceived behavioral control, thereby reinforcing continuance intention. Managerially, two complementary levers are suggested: (1) weaving task-based literacy into the app (e.g., claim simulations annotated with contract types, contribution/tabarru’ wizards, inline glossaries, and decision-point nudges) to translate declarative knowledge into action; and (2) engineering verifiable process transparency (real-time claim tracking, concise tabarru’ summaries, DSN-MUI compliance badges, and clear privacy notices) to build trust. The study enriches post-adoption evidence in Islamic fintech and offers practical guidance to strengthen retention and inclusion among urban millennials.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize the control of agroinput inventory at a company in Indonesia through the integration of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Economic Order Quantity, supplemented by safety stock and reorder points. The research design is quantitative-operational, utilizing historical demand data, ordering costs, storage costs per unit per year, unit prices, and supplier lead times. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis is used to identify and rank failure modes in the warehouse based on severity, probability of occurrence, and detectability to form a Risk Priority Number. The risk findings are then mapped to inventory policy parameters: determining the service level that forms the basis for the safety stock level, setting the reorder point, and evaluating the order frequency through Economic Order Quantity. The results show that integrating the two approaches produces more efficient order sizes, reduces unnecessary ordering frequency, and reduces the potential for stockouts on items with high risk Priority Numbers by adjusting safety stock and reorder points based on service levels. A before-and-after comparison also confirms that ordering and carrying costs can be reduced without compromising the availability of critical materials. Managerial implications include establishing standard ordering procedures per item (economic lot size, reorder point, and review period), periodically reviewing ordering and carrying cost parameters, and integrating the Risk Priority Number metric into the inventory control system. This study provides practical contributions to strengthening inventory management in the agro-industry sector.

Abstract

This study examines how the public interprets the implementation of the Indonesian Ulema Council's National Sharia Council Fatwa on sharia insurance in sharia insurance products. The approach used is descriptive qualitative through in-depth interviews with six informants selected purposively. The data was organized and read repeatedly, then analyzed thematically to find patterns of views, especially related to contracts, tabarru' fund flows, and the claims process. The results show an initial positive attitude due to the religious legitimacy of the fatwa, but technical understanding is still limited. Doubts mainly arise regarding the differences in principles with conventional insurance, clarity of costs, transparency of fund management, and the speed and certainty of claims. Perceptions are influenced by religious values, exposure to information, level of education, the influence of family/religious leaders, and service experience. The study recommends simple one-page product communication, ongoing community-based education, and concise periodic reporting to make fatwa implementation more effective, increase trust, and strengthen interest in participating in Islamic insurance.
