Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence the desire of travel intention people of Batam City to Asian countries. This research is useful to help all parties to know the factors that need to be considered in order to attract tourists to travel to Asian countries because it is considered to affect tourist intentions. This research is aimed at the people of Batam City who are interested in visiting Asian countries using 405 respondents who were collected through distributing questionnaires on social media. This research uses purposive sampling technique with data processing using SPSS version 24 program. The results of the study prove that the independent variables used such as E-WOM, destination image, attitude and subjective norms on the dependent variable, namely intention to travel have a significant positive effect.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine how the implementation of E-Government, specifically through the PTSP application in Batam City, enhances the quality of public services. The development of E-Government policies represents a significant advancement in information and communication technology within the context of globalization. In today's modern society, this development is inseparable from the increasing demands placed on governments as service providers to be more effective, efficient, and transparent in their administrative duties. Consequently, the concept of good governance has emerged, emphasizing the need for governments to meet these demands. The research design employed in this study involves a literature review using a qualitative approach. The focus is on analyzing and describing the implementation of E-Government in public services through the PTSP application at the Batam City One-Stop Investment and Licensing Service Office. Primary and secondary data sources are utilized, and data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation, reading, and note-taking. Content analysis is employed as the method of data analysis. The findings of this research reveal that the PTSP implementation consists of four stages: registration and login process, complaint submission process, follow-up on complaint status, and access to complaint status information. The PTSP implementation has proven to be effective and efficient due to the establishment of Standard Operations and Procedures for handling complaints. Community members can now submit complaints from anywhere and at any time, and they actively participate in improving public services. However, the lack of sufficient socialization has hindered the awareness and understanding of the PTSP application and its operational procedures.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work discipline, work motivation on employee performance at PT Perkasa Beton Batam either partially or simultaneously. The population in this study were employees with operator positions and office in all department with a total of 112 employees. The number of samples taken for this study were 112 respondents. The sampling technique in this study was carried out by means of the saturated sample technique. Data collection techniques in this study is used a questionnaire. This data is processed using SPSS version 26.0 software. The research method used is quantitative method. The results showed that work discipline had a positive and significant effect on employee performance at PT Perkasa Beton Batam with t value of 10.113 > t table 1.981967, and work motivation had a positive and significant effect on employee performance at PT Perkasa Beton Batam with at value of 3.679 > t table 1.981967. The results of the study also prove that work discipline and work motivation simultaneously affect employee performance at PT Perkasa Beton Batam, with a calculated f value of 498,847 > f table 3,08.

Abstract

Information technology has experienced very fast development at this time. Rumah Makan Gorengan Kamput is one of the SME’s in the city of Batam, during operation they still use manual accounting and financial reporting records. This community service (PkM) is expected to be able to provide support to SME Rumah Makan Gorengan Kamput. The author uses the PHP programming language and the waterfall method to complete the system with several stages such as requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation. The final result of this research is a website application that will be used by business owners to help their business activities.

Abstract

This study is conducted to identify the current approach to preventing security attacks in one of the Internet of Things – the Automated Gate System. The question of vulnerability of the Automated Gate System is a critical issue as this system acts as a front line that protects an organization from any security intrusion. A sound security system leads to the cyber and physical security of the organization, enabling the organization to move forward in achieving management goals. The focus is specifically on methods and techniques for security elements used in previous studies, prompting answers to questions on security mechanisms to Automated Gate Systems that are practical and reliable. The literature review shows various studies conducted on this issue, focusing on how an IoT system for automated gates operates, how it works logically and physically, the security level, and the extent to which a gate system is immune from hacking. This study employed the Content Analysis technique, meaning the previous research data were analyzed and summarized scientifically. It continued with interviews conducted with experts and owners of the Automated Gate System. It is a series of activities analyzing and summarizing the scientific 'data' produced by previous research and interviews. The 'data' refers to spoken, written, or visual pictures, words, symbols, meanings, ideas, diagrams, or any message that can be analyzed. The study then focused on a final comparison involving three security techniques on the IoT Gate System: a QR Code System, RFID System, and Vehicle License Plate Recognition System, which is a reliable but practical technique for an IoT Automated Gate System. This study ultimately offers future work to analyze the three selected Automated Gate Systems with a selected security testing technique, with the objective of security but with practical financial capabilities.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine whether the variables of service quality, social media sales promotion, trust, customer satisfaction on behavioral intentions at Japanese restaurants in Batam City. The independent variables in this study are service quality, social media sales promotion, trust, customer satisfaction and the dependent is behavioral intention. Researchers used SPSS version 26 software to analyze respondents' demographic data and then used SMARTPLS version 3.0 software to test and analyze the relationship between the variables. The results are based on hypothesis testing Service Quality, Social Media Sales Promotion, Trust has a significant positive effect on Customer Satisfaction and Behavioral Intentions. In addition, Customer Satisfaction also has a significant positive effect on Behavioral Intention. So it can be said that all positive significant. The results of this study, in increasing Behavioral Intention for Japanese restaurants in Batam, it is recommendedto Japanese restaurant business owners to be able to increase trust, service quality, social media sales promototion and customer satisfaction

Abstract

In Indonesia, accreditation is a one way to determine the quality standard of an educational institution, including universities. People often evaluate the quality of educational institutions based on the accreditation value. So in this study it can be shown that the value of accreditation is directly proportional to the quality of educational institutions. The accreditation process usually carried out within a period of 5 years and must be renewed at least 6 month before the expiration date. In this research, the author used qualitative methods to collect data on accreditation. The collected data from observation and documentation will be used to make a reportage video of the accreditation which will take place at Universitas Internasional Batam. The result of reportage video is available in two languages, English and Indonesian. The reportage video has an elements that are usually found in news videos, such as lower thirds, logos, and others. The reportage video in English has a duration of about 6 minutes 1 second and the reportage video in Indonesian has a duration of about 7 minutes 27 seconds. The reportage video is expected to help the development of universities and provide a legit information to wider community

Abstract

In this era of globalization, various kinds of products and services are growing and there are also new innovations. Many ways are done by the company to be able to increase the company's turnover and provide good service to consumers in order to satisfy these consumers. With the development of the times, companies must be able to innovate quality products and companies must be able to produce products desired by the community by studying and improving the quality of smartphones continuously. Therefore, the researcher aims to analyze the effect of brand image, celebrity endorsement, ewom, brand awareness and social media communication on purchase intention with brand trust as a mediating variable on smartphone users in Batam City. A total of 400 respondents who can be used in analyzing by using research sampling techniques.

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Syamsul Huda Batam is a boarding school engaged in social, educational, and religious affairs located in Tiban Satu Complex, Sekupang District, Batam. This organization has problems in the marketing process in finding new students who still use brochures. Therefore, this organization needs a web-based company profile to increase efficiency for marketing. The method for designing such a website is sdlc method. The result of this design is in the form of a company profile website. The website also aims as a means of digital marketing.

Abstract

Ju Seafood Restaurant is a small micro and medium enterprise which is engaged in culinary and seafood. The problems faced by Ju Seafood Restaurant are the lack of application of marketing strategies in their business and the use of social media as business support media is still not utilized properly. The method used to carry out practical work activities is divided into 2 stages: the data collection stage and the catalog creation stage. The result of this activity is an e-catalog which is implemented through a social media account, namely Instagram. The implementation of this practical work activity shows that the use of e-catalog has a very good influence on the business development of Ju Seafood Restaurant.
