Abstract

Nowadays, more residential buildings are built with small interior spaces, but the average size of the furniture remains constant; large enough. This can trigger such problems like limited area of a space, so it could restrict some activities of users of that space. The purpose of this research is to create a furniture with the concept of convertible furniture to overcome these problems. This study also focuses on business opportunities that apply convertible furniture sales with the unique concept of using used or recycled materials. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method and a descriptive method accompanied by the distribution of questionnaires to collect empirical data as part of the qualitative research method. The results of the study concluded that furniture with ‘convertible furniture’ concept through knock-down technique may solve the problem of limited space, and has the potential to grow a ‘convertible furniture’ business with some portion of the materials containing recycled material(s).

Abstract

Marketing is an activity that is currently carried out by many people, ranging from marketing in the field of fashion, food, even developers also have their own marketing fields. With the development of the times, the way a person does marketing also develops. Digitalization has been in various places and of course marketing has also begun to develop into digital marketing where marketing is done using various media that use the internet, one of which is social media such as tiktok. By examining the research that has been done previously about the influence of tiktok on the world of digital marketing, we will conclude how big the impact of tuktok on the world of digital marketing today. From the results studied, it was concluded that tiktok as a digital marketing media or digital marketing has s significant impact because with social media we can sell our services to places we can’t even reach and of course we can increase sales with people we’ve never met

Abstract

Byzen Store is a business that is engaged in selling kitchen items such as drinking bottles, food containers, jars, and other items with the majority of goods from the Tupperware brand which has been running for 10 years. The obstacle faced by Byzen Stores is the lack of creativity in doing promotions. Applied research methodology is the method used in this research with the aim of finding solutions to problems faced by society, or industrial and business organizations. The method used in designing this promotional is Media Production Concept (KPM) method which has 3 stages, namely Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production. The tools are Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Premiere Pro 2020, and Canva Pro. The results of this research are in the form of a promotional video containing photos of product from the Byzen Store. The implementation of the research resulted in many positive impacts where the owner of the Byzen Store felt an increase in sales and the Store became more known to the wider community.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity (PKM) is to help solve the problems that exist in SMEs in Batam City. The partner in this activity is the United Stationery Store which is currently focusing on the online wholesale sector. So in this activity the author will help the United Stationery Store design a digital marketing system that suits the needs of the United Stationery Store, namely facebook shop, facebook ads, instagram ads, google ads, e-brochures, and e-catalogs. This activity was carried out using the interview method and community education. The result of the implementation of this activity is that the United Stationery Store has been able to implement the designed digital marketing system. Of all the systems implemented, google ads is a very effective marketing system at this time, then facebook shop and instagram ads. Facebook ads are the most ineffective or ineffective system compared to other systems. The author recommends that the United Stationery Store in the future can implement digital marketing compared to conventional marketing and the United Stationery Store can consider digital marketing with google ads, facebook shop, and instagram ads, especially google ads.

Abstract

The growth speed of technology developments are encouraging information system to develop significantly. One of the example were making videos that can renew a company identity as a form of promotion and visualization needs of a company profile. This article describes the implementation of Job Training (KP) to an agency in the city of Batam, namely Batam International University, namely the Undergraduate Program in Information Systems. Practical work projects were carried out because of the need to renew the form of promotion of the Information Systems Undergraduate Program in the form of introducing graduate profiles. So the authors decided to work together by making a video profile of an information system graduate specializing in DKV. The author will use the Transition technique during the design of the video profile. The output in the form of a video will be distributed via Youtube social media.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of brand equity, E-WOM, and brand image from social media on the purchase intention of fast food restaurants in Batam City. The independent variables used in this study were social media, brand equity, E-WOM, and brand image. Meanwhile, purchase intention was used as the dependent variable. In this study, 306 respondents were used with the purposive sampling method through the distribution of online questionnaires. SPSS software version 26.0 and SmartPLS version 3.0 were used in the analysis of research data. The results of this study indicated that social media has significant positive effect on brand equity, E-WOM, and brand image. Then those three variables, namely brand equity, E-WOM, and brand image have significant positive effect on purchase intention. Based on the results of this study, it is clear that in this era of digital technology, business people can utilize social media as a means to increase brand equity, E-WOM, and brand image of a product or service.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the capacity building efforts made by the city government of Batam in the pursuit of nurturing a tourism industry that is sustainable. This study used a descriptive qualitative methodology, conducting semi-structured interviews with four key informants from the Batam City Culture and Tourism Office in order to gather information for the study. According to the findings, the municipal government, and in particular the Department of Culture and Tourism, has experienced major difficulties in meeting the quality and quantity of human resources, as well as in maintaining internal management and establishing collaborative networks. This is especially true in light of the findings. As a direct result of this, the tourism industry in Batam City has been experiencing a period of stagnation as well as a decrease in interest from both domestic and international visitors. At the present day, the primary function of Batam is to act as a transit hub for tourists going to neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Singapore. The administration of potential tourist locations has been made more difficult due to a lack of human resources, which has resulted in a decline in employee performance and hampered operations related to internal management. Because of this, the formation of networks and cooperation with other stakeholders, both locally and regionally, which are important for the development of tourism in Batam City are hampered.

Abstract

This study raises a topic that aims to analyze the effect of current ratios, debt ratios and profitability ratios on stock prices in the consumer goods sector. The sample data used is panel data with a time series time scale at the 2017-2021 financial statement interval. Sample data was collected from secondary data sources by accessing the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) page. The purpose of this research to figure out is there any effect of independent variable to dependent variable. If there’s any significant effect found out in this research, it might help investors to predict the stock prices of listed company. However, The results found in this study include the current ratio, debt to asset ratio (DAR), and ROA do not have a significant effect on stock prices. This is because there are many other factors that significantly influence the rise and fall of stock prices. In addition, this insignificant effect can be caused by the condition of the company's profit which is not in optimal condition considering the data that taken as sample include a period when the COVID-19 pandemic is rife in Indonesia.

Abstract

PT. Riztour Indo Wisata is a business engaged in tourism which was founded in 2014, located at Ruko Shangrila Garden Blok A No. 18, Sekupang. The obstacles faced by PT. Riztour Indo Wisata while running its business activities in the form of the absence of a culinary website system that functions as a promotional tool to increase tourists who want to travel to the city of Batam. The methodology applied in this research is applied research that aims to solve problems in the modern world. The method used in this activity is SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) method which has 5 stages, namely requirement analysis, design, development, testing, maintenance. The tools are hosting, domain, wordpress, and page builder from elementor. The output of this research is in the form of a culinary website system that contains information about restaurants, recipes, typical food of the city of Batam. With this system, tourists PT. Riztour Indo Wisata makes it easier and faster to find information about culinary in the city of Batam

Abstract

A city or region absolutely needs zoning or regional organization. One of them is Terengganu Malay Village Settlement Zone. Development without a clear regional organization and non-compliance with the rules for structuring coastal areas has caused Vanaküla's condition to worsen. The concept of good settlement management can support the ability of an area to maintain activity stability between visitors and the people who live in the area. The purpose of this research is to determine the zoning between the tourism area and Kampung Melayu, Terengganu, and to provide clear guidelines for more appropriate zoning. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive analysis method, where data collection techniques are used to carry out zone analysis at the location of the research object. The results of the study show that the Terengganu old village area can support the achievement of a sustainable zone in terms of construction and quality of the area that is laid out. Based on findings in old village settlements in Terengganu, it is classified as flexible zoning, so it has the potential to become a non-permanent zoning area, impacting residential areas which can change their use at any time.
