Abstract

This community service program has the aim of increasing sales, reaching a wider sales market and adding new consumers by using social media. Partners in community service are the Andra Laundry Shop which is a shop engaged in laundry services located at Jalan Sungai Maham No. 118, Singkawang, West Kalimantan. The method used in this activity is observation, interviews and implementation on social media. The implementation results show an increase in new marketing reach, an increase in turnover and an increase in new consumers

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the effect of independent directors of a publicly listed company in indonesia on their total compensation. Following the footsteps of other developing countries, Indonesian corporations have recently appointed more independent directors. Independent directors are thought to play an important role in determining executive compensation. This Paper takes a sample of 50 publicly listed company in Indonesia ranked as the “best of the best company in 2020” by well known business magazine, Forbes. Those 50 companies were filtered by its financial performance and their practice of good corporate governance. 50 Financial reports spanning from the year 2015 – 2019 listed in the list were collected to analyze the relation ship between the number of independent director and total compensation recieved. The results of the studies suggest that the number of independent director does have an effect on their total compensation received. There is a significant positive relationship between the number of independent directors in a board structure and their total compensation received as indicated in both t-test and f-test of this study

Abstract

In this article, we will discuss the design and manufacture of graphic & motion graphic designs, in a medium, small, micro-business (MSME) in the city of Batam called coffee shop aftertaste. The purpose of this scientific project is to promote brand image through digital media because there is not enough promotion in coffee shop Aftertaste digital media so that it is still not well known among the wider community. Therefore, the author decided to make graphic & motion graphic designs in the form of videos, posters, character designs, and also coupon designs using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method. The result of this scientific project is an increase in popularity and the introduction of branding through Instagram stories

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant influence of the internal and external conditions of banking companies on stock returns. The internal conditions in this study consist of the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Non-Performing Loan (NPL), and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER). Furthermore, the external conditions referred to are inflation and interest (BI Rate). This study used SPSS version 26 program for descriptive statistics analysis, then continued with testing using the E-Views version 10 program to analyze the relationship between variables. Based on the result of hypothesis testing with E-Views, the results show that the CAR and DER variables have a significant positive effect on stock return, while LDR has a significant negative effect. For the NPL and inflation variables on stock returns, the results show that there are not significant effect with negative coefficient. And interest (BI Rate) does not have a significant effect with a positive coefficient

Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine and identify the factors that influence the effectiveness of food barns in upholding food security, as well as the challenges faced by the residents of Batam City in establishing and reinforcing these food storage facilities to achieve food security. Moreover, it aims to assess the quality of available food and enhance its diversity, encompassing options rich in carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, and other essential minerals. Food barns are an integral part of the community's food reserve system and coexist harmoniously with rice culture. A key strategy to ensure food self-sufficiency is through the diversification of food consumption. This research employs qualitative methods and draws on limited research from books, journals, and other relevant literature sources. The findings shed light on the significant role played by food barns in ensuring food security. They serve as vital storage locations for the entire population, addressing food shortages during crop failures or periods of famine, and contributing to the collective income. However, the study also reveals various challenges in the growth and development of food barns, including issues related to food access, limited facilities, availability of food supplies, and health or nutritional concerns. These factors drive the necessity for the establishment of sustainable food barns. Consequently, the implications of the research highlight the limited presence of food barns and the need for increased storage capacity to effectively meet the demands of the community.

Abstract

The bank aims to obtain income in the form of dividends or benefit from the increase in the price of shares owned. The amount of credit disbursed by a bank will determine the bank's profit, profitability is the net result of a number of policies and decisions of the company. The profitability ratio measures how much the company is capable of making a profit. Profitability is a factor that should receive important attention because it is to be able to carry out the life of a company. This study aims to test the Loan to Deposit Ratio and NonPerforming Loan against profitability. The population in this study was PT BPR Dana Nagoya. The data used in this study is in the form of financial statements of PT BPR Dana Nagoya. In this study, researchers used descriptive statistical data analysis methods, classical assumption tests, normality tests, auto correlation tests, multicorrelarity tests, Heteroskedasticity tests, Hypothesis Tests, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, and Coefficients of Determination. Based on the results of the t test, it shows that the calculated t value of 2,731 < t table is 1,687.3 and the significance value of t is 0.499 > 0.05, it can be concluded that the Variable Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) has a significant positive effect on profitability. Likewise, with the Non Performing Loan (NPL) variable with a calculated t value > t table of 6,151 <1/687 and a significance value of t of 0,000 < 0.05, it can be concluded that the Non Performing Loan (NPL) variable has a negative effect on profitability. Meanwhile, in the F test, the two independent variables jointly influenced profitability by showing a calculated F value of 21,072 > F of table 3.25 and an F significance value of 0.000 < 0.05.

Abstract

One of the businesses that is now getting more and more enthusiasts is the distribution business. Distro is a fashion business that sells local and international brand products. The higher the need for fashion, the more motivated business people to make an innovation that is even more creative. Through secial media, business people can promote their products easily and are able to reach a wider audience. This study aims to design and implement IGTV video advertisements on distribution products. The research design of IGTV video advertisements uses applied research methods. İn implementing this IGTV video ad, the author uses data collection methods, namely by observation and interviews. This IGTV advertising video has the aim of being a product promotion media that will be implemented on the Outfit Batam Store’s Instagram account.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to improve English intermediate level students in writing using brainwriting strategy. This is a Classroom Action Research which consists in total of seven meetings; two meetings for test and 5 meetings for treatment. The population of this research was the students who have joined English tuition on Intermediate level which consisted of 7 students. The steps of this research were (1) observing students’ difficulties in writing, (2) implementing brainwriting strategy and (3) writing practice using brainwriting strategy. The instruments of this research were observation and tests (pre-test and post-test). The results of this research are students able to improve their writing skills on fictional story and become more active in the classroom through brainwriting strategy which is shown by the average score of pre-test (1,95) with not enough category and post-test (2,42) with enough category

Abstract

The pandemic Covid-19 has fueled a crisis democracy around the world as well as Indonesia. The condition of democracy and public/politician/human rights has growth worse. Government of Indonesia has responded that polemic by reducing pandemic cases and give support to the poor one. The number of confirmed Covid-19 positive cases as per July 19, 2021, has risen by 34,257 from the previous day and the total becomes 2,911,733. In the same period, the number of deaths increase 1,338 to 74,920. It has become the government and politicians/public/human right dilemma between controlling the virus and boosting the economy. The fight against pandemic Covid-19 is often framed as a trade-off between public health and the economy. Government aware that implementing a lockdown would require a huge budget, creating a budget deficit that could well exceed the ceiling must be approved by parliament. Government is currently battling the second wave of Covid-19 infections. The delta variants from India have been a major contribution to this second wave as they are more infections. Hospital has shortage of oxygen and beds, and the new patients must place in corridors or tents. Medical workers are tired, and some have become casualties. Lives have been upended and economic activities disrupted, especially to the informal business/workers. Unemployment rate, August 31, 2020, 7,07% while February 28, 2021 is 6,26%. The government of Indonesia has done a lot of effort to handle the Coronavirus, nevertheless public criticism has grown louder in recent months as the dire consequences for health, society, and economy. Some of them are honest but others may have hidden agenda. The game theory is not the only one to measure the optimal solution open-up versus lockdown form Covid-19 polemic. The cost-effectiveness analysis, Bayesien game setting, the strackelberg model are also other tools to measure the optimalization of open-up and lockdown.

Abstract

In this article, we will discuss the design and manufacture of video company profile in the city of Batam called Vihara Dhrama Mulia Batam. The purpose of this society service is to promote the environment and activities of Vihara Dharma Mulia Batam through a platform called Youtube, because there is no promotion of Vihara Dharma Mulia Batam in the form of a company profile video, so it is still not very well known among the wider community. Therefore, the author decided to make video company profile using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method. Vihara Dharma Mulia Batam company profile video design using Adobe Premiere Pro 2020 and Adobe After Effects software, with a duration of four minutes and forty-two seconds, 1920x1080 resolution using a laptop with Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ, GTX 950M, and 16GB RAM specifications The result of this scientific project is an increase in popularity and the introduction of Vihara Dharma Mulia Batam
