Abstract

Cigarette filter waste is something that we often find thrown carelessly in public places almost all over the world. Cigarette filters contain cellulose acetate, which is difficult to decompose naturally and takes a long time to decompose. In response to this, research is needed so that cigarette filter waste has use value and is useful as an effort to handle waste. One of them is by making cigarette butts as an alternative material made from composites. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in cigarette filter waste fibers on the tensile and impact strength of the polyester matrix. The fiber volume fraction includes 15% : 85%, 22.5% : 77.5%, 30% : 70% with horizontal, vertical and cross fiber directions. The material used is cigarette filter waste fiber. Standard ASTM D-638-1 is used as a reference for tensile tests and ISO 179-1 for impact tests. The results of this study showed that the maximum tensile strength of the fiber volume fraction was 15% with the cross-direction arrangement of 42 MPa and the maximum impact strength was found in the 30% fiber volume fraction and the cross-direction arrangement of 0.03068 J/mm2. Based on these results, the variation of the fiber volume fraction and the matrix affect the tensile and impact strength.

Abstract

Lathes include one type of tooling machine, the working principle in the lathe process is the process of removing parts of the workpiece. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of spindle rotation, dietary depth, and cooling media variations (Oli, dromus, air). The process of subsubsting uses the MAWItec D.O.O lathe.B 160x1000, and uses S45C material. This study uses the RSM method. Minimal research results in this study with variations in parameters spindle rotation 1000 RPM (factor 1 level 3), nutritional depth 0.7 (factor 2 level 2) and air conditioning media (3) (factor 3 level 3) with a resulting roughness value of 1,662 μm.

Abstract

3D printing is a manufacturing technology that is widely developed to make prototypes in accordance with the desired design, one of which is FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling). FDM technology is a printing technique used to print products using fibrous materials, some filaments that are often used in 3D printing including polylactic acid (PLA), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), nylon, polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG) and polycarbonate (PC). This research aims to get the parameters that most affect the print of FDM 3D printing machines. In this study to print the filament test object used petg filament (Polyethylene terephthalate Gylacol) and using taguchi L27 OA method. The parameters used are Nozzel Temperature, Bed Temperature, Flowrate, Prin Speed, Layer Thiknes, Infill Overlap, Infill Density, and Infill Speed. The results of the study that has been done showed that the most influential parameters for the height of specimens are research no. 4 and 11 with a value of 19.99 while the lowest value is at number 26 with a value of 19.73 mm. And the most influential process parameters in a row are Nozzel Temperature (235°C), Bed Temperature (100°C), Infill Density (25%), Infill Overlap (10%), Layer Thickness (30mm), Printing Speed (40mm/s), Infill Speed (40mm/s), Flowrate (90%).

Abstract

The number of students or workers who come to the Polman Negeri Babel area causes the need for boarding houses to increase, however, the availability of information about the location of boarding houses is very limited, making it difficult to find the location of the boarding house that is desired. Therefore, a website-based boarding location mapping application was made which aims to implement a geographic information system using Maps Leaflets which can make it easier for users to find information about boarding houses in the Polman Negeri Babel area and can assist boarding house owners in spreading their boarding houses. This system is made using the waterfall method in order to produce a systematic and sequential system design. In making the system design using use case diagrams and system testing using the blackbox method. The results of making this website-based boarding location mapping application can provide information to users to make it easier to find boarding locations and other information such as facilities, prices, addresses, and the owner's cellphone number.

Abstract

Technological developments are very influential in various aspects, one of which is the development of information. The increasing use and search for information in the mass media, makes programmers try to make an application that will help users to get and carry out information seeking activities easily. Difficulties in conveying information and not yet computerized are the main problems for SPI. With the creation of an application that can manage the existing data on the SPI Polman Negeri Babel, it can be better organized and the integrity and security of the data can be guaranteed. This application is made using the waterfall model in order to produce a systematic and sequential system design. In addition, making application designs using Use Case Diagrams and application testing using the blackbox method. The results of making this SPI monitoring application provide convenience in displaying information, activities, and complaint features related to SPI.

Abstract

The machining process used in the production process is a machining process that must be in accordance with the demands of the production. Where the level of precision, accuracy, quality and quantity of a product is the main thing in the machining process. to obtain a minimum response to the surface roughness of the workpiece. The research that has been tried aims to ensure the contribution of the parameters to the CNC MORI SEIKI SL-25 machining process to reduce the alteration of the workpiece surface roughness reaction simultaneously. As well as setting the right parameters of the CNC MORI SEIKI SL-25 machining process parameters in order to obtain a minimum workpiece surface roughness. The machining process parameters that were varied were cutting speed, feed depth and feed motion. The purpose of this study was to determine the surface roughness of carbon steel. This study uses parameters that affect the shape of the surface roughness value of St 41 material, namely cutting speed (110 m/min, 120 m/min, 150 m/min), depth level (0.5 mm, 0.8 mm, 1 mm)) and feeding speed (0.15mm/put, 0.925mm/put, 0.35mm/put). The value of the surface roughness of the St 41y material, which is the percent cutting speed, has a value of 11.06%, the infeed depth has a value of 0.19%. And eating motion has the smallest value of -20.97%.

Abstract

Welding itself is a technique of joining metal with some of the parent metal and filler metal, which can be used as an addition metal or not and produces a continuous metal. Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) or often also called Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) is used. one of the forms of electric arc welding (Arc Welding) that uses an inert gas as a shield with tungsten or tungsten as the electrode, SMAW welding machine is a welding machine that uses DC, AC, or DC/AC currents. The purpose of this final project is to find out whether GTAW welding can be done using a SMAW welding machine because the SMAW welding machine has an easy machine setting process and relatively affordable machine prices with clean results from slag and can also weld thin plates with maximum results using welding. GTAW. The results of this study are information about the success or failure of the GTAW welding process using a SMAW welding machine. The amperes used are 43,46,49,52,55,58 and 61 as well as testing the welding results using dye penetrant. The conclusion obtained in this study is that GTAW welding can be done using a SMAW welding machine. And it was also found that the second welding using alternating welding method I was better than welding 1 by unidirectional welding using I seam.

Abstract

Composite materials are new types of engineering materials consisting of two or more materials whose properties of each material differ from each. Thisresearch is done to assess theinfluence of the volume fraction of pineapple leaf fibers on tensile strength, modulus elasticity and composite impact strength using polyester matrix BQTN 157 with hand lay-up method withresearchojek in the form of pineapple leaf fiber composite with a immersion time of 2 hours and with NaOH 5% with variations in fiber volume fraction of 15%, 20%,%, 25%.%. Thehighest tensile strength K is found in the volume fraction of 25% with a tensile test strength value of 84.4 Mpa and the lowest tensile test strength is at a volume fraction of 15% with a tensile test strength value of 58.7 Mpa.. As for the highest elasticity modulus value is at a volume fraction of 25% which is 17933 Mpa and the lowest tensile test strength is at a volume fraction of 15% with a tensile test strength value of 16400 Mpa.. And for the highest impact strength composite with pineapple leaf fiber is found at a volume fraction of 25% with an average impact power value of 163.2 Kj / mm2 and the lowest impact strength value is in the fiber fraction of 15% with an average impact power value of 63.9 Kj / mm2.

Abstract

Carburizing is a heat treatment process on the outer layer of the material using carbon as a compaction component. The working principle of this heat treatment is to put carbon around the workpiece when heated with the aim that the carbon will diffuse to the outer layer of the workpiece. In this research, a carburizing process will be carried out with a variety of catalysts on St37 steel. The catalyst variations used were 100% charcoal and 0% lime, 90% charcoal and 10% dolomite lime, 85% charcoal and 15% dolomite lime, 80% charcoal and 20% dolomite lime, 75% charcoal and 25% dolomite lime. To determine the impact of catalyst variations on the carburizing results, a hardness test will be carried out. From the results of research that has been done that a mixture with a variation of 85% charcoal and 25% dolomite lime has the highest average hardness value with a value of 21.5 HRC and the variation of a mixture of charcoal and dolomite lime has a significant effect on the hardness value.

Abstract

Technology 3D printing is also known as Additive Layer Manufacturing. One of the most well-known 3D printing technologies is Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM). The working principle of FDM is by means of thermoplastic extrusion through the nozzle at the melting temperature then the product is printed perlapis layer. This research filament used is ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) because mechanically this filament is very strong and has resistance to high temperatures, for the factors used namely Infill Layer Thickness, Printing Speed, Wall Thickness, Print Temperature, Bed Temperature, Fan Speed Wall Printing Speed, Infill Overlap, While in this study the method used is Taguchi and this study has the aim to get optimal process parameters on Printing impact tests were conducted with a 3D printing machine Creality Ender 3 printed as many as 81 specimens. Then the impact test was conducted so that the average score of the highest impact test result was in experiment number 27 with a value of 0.00392 joules and for the lowest impact test value was in experiment number 1 with a value of 0.00291 Joule.
