Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of copra entrepreneurs in Teluk Sampit District, East Kotawaringin Regency, and how much added value is obtained by copra entrepreneurs from copra processing. The method used is quantitative descriptive with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The author decided to involve the entire population of copra entrepreneurs, consisting of 18 respondents. Respondents were grouped into ages 30-35, 41-45, and 46-50 years, each contributing 22.22% of the total. There were no respondents from the 56-60 age group, but there were some from the 61-65 age group, which was 11.11%. Of the 16 copra entrepreneurs, most were male (88.89%), while 2 were female (11.11%). The majority of copra entrepreneurs in Teluk Sampit District are married. Their business experience averages between 3 to 9 years, which is important for business success. The education of copra entrepreneurs is generally junior high school graduates, with a total of 9 people or 50%. This study shows that the added value of processing coconut into copra in Teluk Sampit District is IDR 2,200 per kilogram of copra. Keywords: Characteristics, Added Value

Abstract

The income of oil palm farmers in Bangun Harja Village shows significant variation despite the cultivation of the same commodity. One of the primary issues to investigate is the fluctuation in the price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB), which can directly impact farmers' income. Additionally, land quality and the application of cultivation techniques play crucial roles in determining harvest outcomes and income. Access to agricultural inputs such as fertilizers and equipment, along with socio-economic factors, government policies, and supply chain issues, are other challenges that need consideration. A comprehensive understanding of these factors will provide deeper insights into the dynamics of oil palm farmers' income in the village. The objectives of this study are: to analyze the impact of price on oil palm farmers' income in Bangun Harja Village; to examine the influence of production costs on income; to assess the effect of land area on income; and to evaluate the simultaneous effects of price, production costs, and land area on income. The study utilizes validity and reliability tests of the data, multiple linear regression analysis, F-test (ANOVA), and coefficient of determination tests. Conducted in Bangun Harja Village with 17 sample data points, the research employs secondary and primary data collected through questionnaires, which are then tested for validity and reliability. Multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 26.0 reveals that price (X1) has a significant effect on income (Y) with a t-value of 0.629 and a significance level of 0.533. Production costs (X2) significantly impact income with a significance level of 0.775 and 0.533. Land area (X3) does not have a significant effect on income with a t-value of -4.291 and a significance level of 0.05. Simultaneously, price, production costs, and land area (X1, X2, and X3) collectively affect income with a t-value of 7.617 and an R-squared value of 0.637, indicating that these variables contribute 63.7% to the income of oil palm farmers in Bangun Harja Village. Abstract

In Indonesia, oil palm is the main plantation product, this plant has a high economic value and makes a significant contribution to the country's foreign exchange earnings thanks to its main products, namely Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel Oil (KPO). This study aims to 1) Analyze the effect of price on the income of oil palm farmers in Mekar Indah Village. 2) Analyze the effect of fruit quality on the income of oil palm farmers in Mekar Indah Village. 3) Analyze the effect of land area on the income of oil palm farmers in Mekar Indah Village. 4) Analyze the effect of price, fruit quality and land area on the income of oil palm farmers in Mekar Indah Village. The method used is a quantitative method using multiple linear regression analysis. The results obtained from this study are that simultaneously the variables of price, fruit quality and land area have a significant effect on the income of oil palm farmers in Mekar Indah Village. While partially the price and land area affect the income of farmers in Mekar Indah Village, while the quality of the land does not affect the income of farmers in Mekar Indah Village. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the conversion of paddy fields into oil palm plantations in Seruyan Hilir Timur District, Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan. This land-use change has become a major concern due to the significant decrease in paddy field area, while the area of oil palm plantations continues to increase. The study employs a quantitative method with a survey approach targeting farmers who have converted their land. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression to identify the influencing factors. The results indicate that economic factors, such as the selling price of harvests and higher income from oil palm, are the main drivers for farmers to convert their land. Additionally, environmental and technical factors also play a role in the farmers' decision-making, although their influence is not as strong as that of economic factors. The conclusion of this study is that economic factors are the most significant determinants in the conversion of paddy fields to oil palm plantations in Seruyan Hilir Timur District. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the existence of oil palm plasma plantations of PT. Rimba Harapan Sakti 1 on the social and economic conditions of the community in Pematang Limau Village. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, this study collected data through field observations, interviews with respondents, and related documentation. The sample in this study consisted of 78 respondents selected by purposive sampling. The results of the study indicate that the existence of plasma plantations has a significant impact on improving the social conditions of the community, where there is an increase in population, increased access to education, and reduced social conflict. On the economic side, oil palm plasma plantations have been proven to be able to increase community income and encourage a shift in livelihoods from the traditional sector to the plantation sector. In addition, there is an increase in asset ownership among the community. The conclusion of this study shows that the existence of plasma plantations has a positive impact both socially and economically on the community of Pematang Limau Village.
