Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the implementation of principal supervision in enhancing teachers’ professional competence in schools. Using a literature review approach, this article explores various theories and research findings that highlight how the role of the principal as an educational supervisor can influence the development of teacher professionalism. This study used a systematic literature review method with the PRISMA protocol to analyze 15 selected articles. The results of the study indicate that structured and continuous supervision can improve pedagogical abilities, subject matter mastery, and teacher commitment to the learning process. Principals hold a strategic responsibility in creating an academically conducive environment through clinical, collaborative, and reflective supervision approaches. The main challenges in implementing supervision include time constraints, administrative burdens, and the principal’s competence in supervision practices. Therefore, there is a need for strengthened policies and ongoing training for principals to effectively and professionally carry out their supervisory roles. This article provides important implications for strengthening educational management and improving the quality of learning in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the principal’s strategy in managing teacher resources to improve the quality of education. The principal has a strategic role in creating an effective learning environment through directed leadership. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with a qualitative approach, analyzing 15 relevant scientific articles in the last ten years. The results of the study indicate that commonly applied strategies include teacher needs planning, ongoing training, academic supervision, participatory empowerment, and the creation of a conducive work climate. Transformational and collaborative leadership styles have proven effective in improving teacher performance and motivation. These findings indicate that optimal teacher resource management has a direct impact on the quality of learning and student learning outcomes. However, most of the literature is still limited to the local context and is descriptive in nature, so further research is needed with a quantitative or mixed approach to strengthen the validity and generalization of the results.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role and effectiveness of principal’s supervision in improving teachers’ performance and pedagogical competence through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. By analyzing relevant literature on academic supervision in Indonesian primary and secondary education, the study finds that effective, structured, and continuous supervision enhances teacher skills in lesson planning, subject mastery, and the use of appropriate teaching methods. Principal supervision not only strengthens professional competence but also fosters motivation and a conducive learning environment. The study highlights that the success of supervision is influenced by the principal’s leadership, school culture, and teacher involvement. Additionally, it identifies key challenges such as limited time and resources that hinder effective supervision. Overall, the findings emphasize the need for a collaborative, feedback-based supervision model and suggest that strengthening principals’ capacity as academic supervisors is essential to improving teaching quality and informing educational policies that support teacher development and school improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically investigate the influence of principal leadership on teacher performance through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. A total of fifteen peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2020 and 2024 in Indonesia were analyzed to identify patterns, findings, and research gaps related to this topic. The results indicate that leadership styles particularly transformational, democratic, and control based positively affect teacher performance, although the magnitude of influence varies depending on contextual and mediating factors such as work motivation, organizational culture, and infrastructure management. The novelty of this review lies in mapping the interplay between leadership styles and school-specific contextual variables, a dimension underexplored in previous studies. This study contributes to educational leadership literature by providing evidence-based recommendations for developing adaptive leadership models tailored to school characteristics. It also highlights the need for further qualitative exploration to understand the emotional and relational dynamics between school leaders and teachers in diverse educational settings.

Abstract

This study explores the strategic role of freshwater and sanitation management in supporting sustainable environmental resilience in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative systematic review method, the research analyzes interdisciplinary literature, policy documents, and case studies to identify structural challenges and effective responses. Key findings reveal persistent issues including water pollution, unequal distribution, poor sanitation access, and fragmented governance. The study highlights the success of community-based initiatives like SANIMAS and proposes the integration of low-cost technologies such as anaerobic waste treatment and household filtration systems. The novelty of this research lies in its cross-sectoral approach that bridges environmental policy, public health, and social participation. It argues for holistic governance reforms, enhanced stakeholder collaboration, and policy harmonization to ensure efficient freshwater and sanitation management. The study contributes strategic recommendations tailored to Indonesia’s context, emphasizing the synergy of government, private sector, and community actors. It also underscores the relevance of water-energy-food nexus thinking in national planning. Ultimately, this research supports Indonesia’s progress toward achieving SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation) and SDG 13 (climate action), reinforcing freshwater and sanitation as critical pillars for long-term resilience, public well-being, and sustainable development.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of interactive digital image media to enhance interfaith tolerance in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at multicultural elementary schools. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis from 15 fifth-grade students and one PAI teacher at SD Negeri Pulau Tembang. Findings revealed significant improvements in students’ understanding of tolerance and their attitudes toward religious diversity after eight sessions using interactive visuals (e.g., infographics, quizzes). The media fostered engagement, inclusive behavior, and reflective discussions. The study underscores the effectiveness of interactive digital tools in promoting tolerance and suggests their integration into PAI curricula. Limitations include the single-site design, warranting further research with broader samples.
