Abstract

This study examines the implementation of animated video media in Akidah Akhlak learning and its effect on enhancing students’ interest and creativity at MTs Arrohmah. The research responds to the growing demand for engaging, relevant digital media in the modern classroom to improve instructional quality and foster moral character. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected from students and teachers through observation, interviews, and documentation. Findings reveal that animated videos improved students’ attention, enthusiasm, and independent learning, while stimulating creative thinking and idea generation. They also simplified the understanding of abstract Akidah Akhlak concepts and promoted interactive, dynamic classroom engagement. Unlike previous studies that predominantly applied animated media in science or language learning, this research uniquely focuses on its integration into Islamic moral education at the madrasah level. This approach contributes an innovative and practical framework for leveraging digital animation to boost interest and creativity in religious education, supporting more meaningful and enjoyable learning in the digital era.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of learning management and achievement motivation on student learning achievement in State Elementary Schools in Sako District, Palembang, Indonesia. A quantitative approach with an ex-post facto design was employed. Data were collected via questionnaires from 160 teachers across State Elementary Schools in Sako District. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis were used to examine the relationships between variables. The findings indicate that (1) learning management significantly influences student learning achievement, (2) achievement motivation significantly affects student learning achievement, and (3) both learning management and achievement motivation collectively have a significant impact on student learning achievement. This study provides empirical evidence on the combined influence of learning management and achievement motivation on student outcomes in the context of Indonesian elementary education, a less explored area in existing literature. The results suggest that enhancing teachers' learning management strategies and fostering achievement motivation can improve student performance. School administrators and policymakers should consider targeted training programs for teachers to optimize these factors. This study contributes to educational research by validating the importance of instructional and motivational factors in student achievement, offering insights for educators and stakeholders in similar socio-cultural contexts.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to explore the challenges, parenting strategies, and forms of family resilience in facing structural limitations and social stigma. The approach used is qualitative with a case study design, involving 15 single parents (mothers and fathers) selected through purposive and snowball sampling. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and document studies, then analyzed using reflective thematic analysis with a family resilience framework. Validity is maintained through triangulation, member checking, and peer debriefing. Finding shows that single parents face economic constraints, social stigma, and the burden of dual roles, yet they still build family resilience through consistent affection, simple routines, and instilling values of independence. Support from extended family, religious communities, and informal social networks are important factors, although access varies across ethnicities and environments. These findings emphasize that family resilience relies not only on individuals but also on collective resources and local cultural values.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between teachers’ use of selected teaching approaches and students’ academic performance in English. Employing a quantitative design, data were analyzed using mean, t-test, and Pearson’s r. Results indicated a moderately extensive use of the selected approaches. However, student performance was low overall, with no significant difference by gender. A novel moderate correlation was established, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. The primary contribution is the empirical evidence linking specific pedagogical strategies to student outcomes. A key practical implication is the need for targeted teacher training and retooling on effective methods like inquiry-based and analytical approaches. It is recommended that the Department of Education integrate such pedagogical training into its annual review programs to enhance instructional quality and student achievement.

Abstract

This study explores the role of community participation in optimizing the quality of education services at SMP IT Darul Fikri, a junior high school in North Bengkulu, Indonesia. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with school principals, teachers, committee members, and parents, supplemented by observations and document analysis. The findings indicate that community participation, primarily facilitated through Parent-Teacher Association (POMG) meetings, plays a critical role in planning, implementing, and monitoring school. Programs particularly religious programs like Qur’an memorization (tahfidz). This active involvement, especially in home-based monitoring, significantly contributes to program effectiveness and service quality. The study concludes that structured community forums like POMG are vital for fostering collaboration between schools and communities, leading to improved educational outcomes. This research highlights a sustainable model for educational quality enhancement in contexts with limited government support, emphasizing the need for participatory management.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the optimization of curriculum leadership roles in improving the quality of English language teaching, focusing on the contributions of principals, vice principals, teachers, MGMP, and supervisors in curriculum management. The study emphasizes how these roles collectively influence the effectiveness of English learning in junior high schools. A descriptive qualitative design was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom and institutional observations, and document analysis. The participants consisted of one principal, one vice principal for curriculum affairs, and four English teachers at SMPN 11 Bengkulu City. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that school leaders and teachers focus more on administrative tasks than improving teaching. As a result, students remain passive learners, developing stronger academic skills than practical abilities. This study highlights a systemic culture of administrative compliance that constrains instructional leadership in English language education. Unlike much of the existing literature that focuses on curriculum design, this study addresses the overlooked dimension of curriculum implementation and management at the school level. The study proposes the development of an “Integrated Curriculum Leadership” model in which principals, vice principals, MGMP, and supervisors collaborate synergistically to foster instructional innovation, teacher professional growth, and student communicative competence. By mapping existing practices, identifying gaps, and proposing a collaborative framework, this study contributes both theoretically and practically to the discourse on curriculum leadership. It underscores the need for school leaders and policymakers to move beyond managerialism and create conditions that support sustainable, pedagogically oriented curriculum implementation for English learning.

Abstract

Nowadays, many adolescents face difficulties in determining the right career path. These challenges stem from various internal and external factors, leading to confusion, uncertainty, and hesitation among students when making decisions about further education or career aspirations. This study aims to examine the influence of parental involvement and future orientation on students’ career decisions. The population of this research comprises all students of SMP Negeri 2 Godean, while the sample consists of eighth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. The study employs multiple linear regression analysis, yielding findings that indicate parental involvement has a significant effect on career choice (t-table 0.023 < 0.05), future orientation significantly influences career selection (t-table 0.00 < 0.05), and both variables simultaneously have a significant impact on career determination (sig. 0.00 < 0.05). These findings underscore the importance of parental roles and the development of a clear future orientation to prevent obstacles in the career decision-making process. Additionally, they highlight the responsibility of school counselors in facilitating parental involvement and fostering students’ future orientation.

Abstract

This study provides an in-depth description of the principal’s role in enhancing teachers’ digital literacy through the application of transformational leadership at SMP Negeri 3 Lubuklinggau. Digital literacy in this research encompasses four aspects: digital competence, digital security, digital culture, and digital ethics. A qualitative case study was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using reduction, display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings indicate that the principal consistently applies the four dimensions of transformational leadership. Idealized influence is reflected in role modeling and integrity; inspirational motivation in moral support, digital-based targets, and recognition; intellectual stimulation in training, innovation, and experimentation; and individualized consideration in tailored guidance. These practices improved teachers’ digital literacy, evidenced by diverse digital media use, increased confidence, and collaborative culture. Challenges remain in disparities of competence and low motivation among senior teachers. Recommendations include continuous training, mentoring, improved facilities, and documentation of best practices.

Abstract

Bullying remains a significant concern in educational settings, negatively affecting students’ academic performance, motivation, mental health, and social relationships. This study aimed to examine students’ understanding of bullying including its definition, forms, impacts, and preventive strategies and to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational intervention in promoting a supportive learning environment. The intervention was conducted with students of Junior High School Swasta Karyawan Turangi by real work lecture students from State Islamic University of North Sumatra in 2025. The program involved a structured presentation, interactive discussions, and a comprehension assessment through an ice-breaking ball-toss activity combined with singing. Results indicated that some students had experienced bullying, particularly in the form of physical ridicule or verbal insults, while others reported no such experiences. The intervention successfully enhanced students’ knowledge about bullying and fostered collective awareness regarding the importance of maintaining a safe, bullying-free learning environment. These findings underscore the need for systematic educational programs to prevent bullying in schools.
