Abstract

This activity is a Community Service (PKM) activity organized by the University of Medan Area, Faculty of Economics and Business, Management Study Program which aims to be a tridarma activity of Higher Education by lecturers. In community service with the title Improved Management for Teak Wood Furniture MSMEs. by community craftsmen, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Economics, Medan Area University, Faculty of Economics and Business held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 The objectives of implementing this Community Service include: Increasing capacity and synergy, knowledge, attitudes, and skills in implementing the development of a quality management system. Motivating MSMEs to remain enthusiastic in entrepreneurship. Encouraging the Management Unit to maintain quality and continuity. As an activity of the Tridharma of Higher Education. The output targets of this Community Service program are: MSME units can increase their productivity, be independent, and be environmentally friendly. The quality management system unit can carry out product innovations to produce superior products that are innovative, competitive and sustainable; UMKM Production Units can produce added value for SMEs thereby increasing the welfare of member; Implementation of online marketing. The methods used in achieving the above objectives are increasing capacity building through imparting knowledge, forming attitudes, and skills through training and field practice.

Abstract

Penggunaan pestisida kimia dilakukan petani untuk menjaga tanamannya terhindar dari hama penyakit. Namun penggunaan pestisida kimia secara terus-menerus akan mengganggu kesehatan petani yang terlibat kontak langsung dengan pestisida kimia tersebut pada proses penyemprotan, dan juga kesehatan masyarakat yang bertindak sebagai konsumen karena bahan pestisida kimia yang digunakan pada hasil panen tidak akan hilang hanya dengan dibersihkan menggunakan air bersih. Selain penggunaan pestisida kimia juga akan mencemari lingkungan. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka dilakukan sosialisasi biopestisida alami dari Babadotan kepada kelompok tani Kelurahan Habaring Hurung, di Kecamatan Bukit Batu, Palangka Raya. Sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan kualitas hidup masyarakat setempat terutama dari sisi kesehatan masyarakat terkhususnya petani. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dengan praktik pembuatan biopestisida alami babadotan, pemberian materi berupa leaflet atau brosur, dan FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Hasil dari pengabdian ini secara umum memberikan bekal pengetahuan bagi petani tentang biopestisida alami yang aman bagi kesehatan dan ramah lingkungan yaitu dengan menggunakan Babadotan yang keberadaannya dianggap sebagai tumbuhan pengganggu bagi masyarakat terkhususnya petani menjadi tumbuhan yang sebaliknya sangat bermanfaat melalui pelatihan yang diberikan. Sehingga melalui pengabdian kepada masyarakat tersebut, dapat membantu petani di Kelurahan Habaring Hurung dalam mengatasi masalah kesehatan yang diakibatkan oleh penggunaan pestisida kimia. Luaran dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah brosur dan biopestisida alami dari Babadotan yang siap digunakan.

Abstract

The MSME sector plays a large and important role in the development of the national economy and the regional economy. For the regional economy, MSMEs can increase income, reduce unemployment in villages and can increase their entrepreneurial experience.  Ngampungan Village has a variety of MSMEs that have the potential to improve people's welfare.  However, the problem faced by UMKM in Ngampungan Village is the lack of knowledge about product branding.  Not a few MSME products from Ngampungan Village still don't have labels and use packaging that seems old-fashioned and less attractive.  The purpose of this service is to provide assistance in the manufacture and renewal of labels and packaging to make them more attractive and competitive with competitors.  The methods used in this service are surveys, interviews and discussions, as well as implementation.  The results obtained in this service are the creation of new labels and packaging, as well as increased knowledge of MSME partners in Ngampungan Village regarding packaging and labels that comply with terms and conditions.

Abstract

Minyak goreng banyak digunakan di masyarakat dalam kehidupan di rumah tangga maupun dalam usaha kuliner. Penggunaan minyak goreng secara berulang-ulang pada suhu tinggi (160-180 oC) disertai adanya kontak dengan udara dan air dalam bahan yang digoreng pada saat  proses penggorengan akan mengakibatkan terjadinya reaksi degradasi pada minyak goreng.  Reaksi degradasi  dapat menghasilkan senyawa-senyawa yang dapat menurunkan kualitas minyak goreng. Selain itu juga mengakibatkan terjadi perubahan warna minyak goreng dari warna kuning jernih menjadi warna lebih gelap. Sehingga karena reaksi degradasi tersebut membuat minyak goreng menjadi kotor dan banyak ampasnya. Pemakaian minyak goreng yang sudah kotor (minyak goreng bekas), dapat menimbulkan penyakit bagi orang yang mengkonsumsinya. Hal ini mengakibatkan minyak goreng bekas akan dibuang ke lingkungan, yang mengakibatkan pencemaran baik di tanah maupun di sungai. Limbah minyak bekas dapat dikurangi dengan memanfaatan minyak goreng bekas menjadi sabun padat, yang berguna untuk mencuci baju. Pengabdian masyarakat kali ini dengan mitra SMK Jayabeka 02 Karawang. Program pelatihan pembuatan sabun padat dari minyak goreng bekas, bertujuan untuk mengurangi limbah minyak goreng bekas. Selain itu untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomi limbah minyak goreng bekas.

Abstract

This community service by the service team was carried out for the implementers of Group 3 Community Service Program at Bhayangkara University, Jakarta Raya. This was done for MSME actors in Srimukti Village who had not been touched by forums and even the UMKM service. The majority of the livelihoods of the people of Srimukti village are farmers, some of the people of Srimukti village also have businesses that are classified as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) such as barbershops, stalls. This counseling and mentoring activity is targeted at MSME actors in Srimukti Village. This counseling and mentoring aims to motivate people to continue entrepreneurship and the importance of branding. Counseling according to is an explanation that emphasizes a certain object and the expected result is a change in the behavior of individuals or groups of people. Defines entrepreneurship as the ability to create something new and different. With entrepreneurship, in addition to having the opportunity to generate large income for entrepreneurs, it is also able to reduce the number of unemployed (Budy, 2017). According to branding is a name, term, sign, symbol, design or a combination of all that is intended to identify goods or services or groups of sellers and to differentiate from competing goods or services. This study uses qualitative, data analysis by observing and interviewing. The implementation of community service for MSMEs in Srimukti Village was carried out directly starting with counseling, namely approaching every business actor and then explaining the purpose of our team in holding this work program to advance MSMEs in Srimukti Village, explaining how important it is to have branding to prepare for business competition and shape public perception. After that, our team collected data and provided motivation to MSME business actors. Entrepreneurial motivation was conveyed with the aim that MSMEs in Srimukti Village could be motivated to grow their businesses even bigger.

Abstract

Indonesia as a unitary republic has a lot of wealth in its various varieties, both natural and cultural, including food and handicrafts. Indonesian food and beverage products are well managed by various industries in the territory of Indonesia, and involve the active role of MSME actors. MSMEs, which are built by individuals or business entities, play a role in producing and meeting the needs of the surrounding community. Although they face various obstacles in product development and sales, one example of MSMEs in Surabaya City, especially in Rungkut Kidul Village, faces challenges in changing product branding and marketing strategies as part of the creative economy transformation. Various kinds of backgrounds that indicate the problems experienced by the residents of Rungkut Kidul Village are carried out community service activities involving students who take part in the KKN-T MBKM program aimed at planning an effective branding and marketing transformation strategy for these MSMEs so that their business can grow even more and its implementation takes place without any problems. The design of strategies used to solve problems and find solutions in this activity uses qualitative methods, through further observation, conducting question and answer activities covering parties involved with the problem to be researched, as well as perpetuating various physical or non-physical evidence from MSME activities. The results of this community service activity  show that the transformation of the creative economy in branding strategies and marketing digitalization for MSME product marketingis expected to  run well.

Abstract

Kegiatan sosialisasi manfaat read aloud bagi kemampuan berbahasa anak di perkumpulan dharma wanita LPKA Muara Bulian penting dilaksanakan, mengingat kemampuan berbahasa merupakan kecerdasan majemuk yang terdapat dalam diri setiap individu. Kecerdasan berbahasa merupakan salah satu bentuk kecerdasan terpenting yang akan membantu individu dalam proses kehidupannya. Oleh sebab itu, kemampuan berbahasa harus dioptimalkan sedini mungkin. Kegiatan sosialisasi ini dilaksanakan melalui 3 tahapan metode, yaitu: tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Dari hasil kegiatan sosialisasi maka didapatkan 3 hal penting yang dipahami oleh anggota dharma wanita LPKA Muara Bulian, yaitu pemahaman mengenai manfaat read aloud, pentingnya kemampuan berbahasa anak dan pemilihan bacaan yang baik sesuai usia perkembangan anak.

Abstract

This community service activity is carried out with the aim of increasing knowledge through the concept of geometry, namely to increase knowledge about flat shapes and spaces that change every time. The subject of community service is 30 students at SDN Jakarta. The activity begins with preparations in the form of socialization at the location where the activity will be carried out to provide an explanation of the activities to be carried out. At the activity implementation stage, students were gathered in a room to listen to material presentation on geometric concepts. Then the implementation team conducted counseling and demonstrations on arithmetic material. The instructor conducts an evaluation in the form of questions and answers to the participants during the extension. Based on the evaluation of the activity, there has been an increase in knowledge about geometry material, students after counseling and demonstrations on how to solve geometry material problems correctly. Students who have knowledge of geometric concepts increased from those who were initially able to answer 5 questions out of 15 questions to 10 questions out of 15 questions with an increase in answering questions above 60%. Furthermore, we, as the implementing team, suggest that counseling be carried out routinely to different targets, namely students who have not received counseling, as well as the same target for refreshment and re-evaluation. Counseling or training also needs to be carried out with the target teacher, so that trained teachers can convey it back to their students.

Abstract

The development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) requires a strategy implemented in marketing their business products to enhance competitiveness and facilitate business growth, including through improving promotional efforts. One effective method for enhancing promotion is by creating marketing content through a product catalog. The goal of a product catalog is to visually and attractively promote products or services and make them easily shareable through social media, websites, or other marketing channels. This helps increase the interest of potential customers and assists them in making better purchasing decisions. UMKM Es Cendol Sueger is one of the UMKM’s located in Kauman Village that produces a beverage called cendol. However, UMKM Es Cendol Sueger faces a challenge in promoting its products, specifically the lack of a product catalog for each item. In this community service project, the KKNT 24 Group from UPN "Veteran" East Java aims to develop the business by creating a product catalog to improve business management. The methods utilized include observation, interviews, and documentation of activities involving the MSMEs. The outcome of this community service project is the creation of a product catalog that can enhance sales conversion through promotional activities

Abstract

School is a place for students to optimize their personal and academic development. In the process, students have a need to interact with their peers, the results of a survey of high school students Ya BAKII 01 Kesugihan show that students are more happy when telling stories with their peers compared to gudance and counseling teachers as a means to reduce the tension they experience, especially related to personal, social, and social problems. and study. The solution to this problem is to prepare an extension through training for selected students so that they can help students who need assistance, this is called peer counseling. Students who are trained go through a selection stage with criteria; 1) have good academic achievement; 2) have good behavior; 3) have high empathy; 4) able to cooperate with other people; 5) open to others; and 6) be responsible. Selection based on these criteria is carried out in accordance with the qualifications and standards of the peer counselor. The purpose of peer counseling training is to provide knowledge and competency-based skills as peer counselors. The method of implementing this community service activity uses a form of training which is carried out through several stages, namely socializing the activity program, carrying out training which includes theory, simulation, and evaluation during two meeting sessions. The results of the training are contained in this article.
