Abstract

Prenatal breast care in the third trimester of pregnancy has a positive impact on the frequency of breast milk production in the postpartum period, supporting the success of exclusive breastfeeding programs. Midwives play a key role in providing prenatal breast care and education to pregnant women to enhance breastfeeding success. Further research on the benefits of prenatal breast care can provide a strong scientific basis for clinical practice and health policies that support exclusive breastfeeding programs. This study was an experimental type of research with a Pre-experimental design. The research method used a case study approach by providing comprehensive midwifery care to mothers starting in the third trimester of pregnancy and postpartum visits with the goal of prenatal breast care in the third trimester of pregnancy impacting production and smoothness of postpartum breast milk release. The research results showed that prenatal breast care applied during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, had an impact on postpartum breast milk production and smoothness.

Abstract

Back pain is the most common complaint with a prevalence rate of 49%. About 80-90% of pregnant women who experience back pain state that they do not make any efforts to overcome the symptoms, in other words only around 10-20% of them do medical care to health workers. One treatment is non-pharmacological therapy with warm compresses which can provide a feeling of comfort. The hot feeling caused by warm compresses can result in vasodilation, namely the blood vessels widen and improve blood flow so that the muscles become more relaxed. This type of quantitative research is a quasi-experimental design with a serial one-group pretest and posttest design. The total sampling data collection technique was obtained. The data analysis used parametric statistics because the data is normally distributed using Paired T-Test with a significant level of <0.05. The reduction in the intensity of low back pain during the first intervention (post test 1) was an average of 5.514, after the second intervention (post test 2) the average was 4.511, and after the third intervention (post test 3) the average was 3.425. And the most significant decrease was in the second intervention with a t value of 27.499. Here is a significant effect on reducing lower back pain in third trimester pregnant women in both the first, second and third interventions with a p value of 0.000 (p <0.005). However, the most significant effect was on the second intervention with a t value of 27.499.

Abstract

The postpartum period or puerperium is the period after childbirth is complete, up to 6 weeks or 42 days. During the postpartum period, the reproductive organs will slowly experience changes to the condition before pregnancy. This process of physical change sometimes causes discomfort known as postpartum pain (afterpain). The pain or afterpain is like heartburn caused by contractions of the uterus. This afterpain lasts for 3-4 days post partum and often occurs in multiparas, because the uterus is stretched, uterine contractions tend to occur twice as often as in primiparas. One treatment that can be used to overcome this problem is by applying non-pharmacological therapy to post-partum mothers. Effleurage massage can improve blood circulation throughout the body, maintain health, help reduce pain and fatigue, stimulate the production of endorphins which function to relax the body, reduce stress hormones (cortisol), and balance the work of the body's organs and overcome fatigue. This case study describes the application of effleurage massage to a post partum mother who complained of after pain. After midwifery care was implemented, Mrs. B experienced a decrease in after pain so that the problem could be resolved.

Abstract

Teenage pregnancy is a significant public health problem and has a broad impact on the health of mothers and babies. This case study describes the pregnancy of a 19 year old teenager (Mrs. M), which shows the various challenges faced in pregnancy care and baby health. This case shows that teenage pregnancies are often faced with inadequate antenatal care, higher risks to maternal and infant health, and an urgent need for comprehensive psychosocial and educational support. The midwifery care provided can provide motivation for mothers to get access and quality pregnancy checks, can also reduce the social and psychological impacts experienced, as well as support for pregnancy

Abstract

The World Health Organization revealed that around 43% or 250 million children in low-income countries experience problems in child growth and development. It is estimated that around 5-10% of children experience developmental deviations, but the main cause cannot be known for sure. For Indonesia itself, there are 10% or around 23.7 million children under five. Of this number, it can be estimated that around 1-3% of children under five in Indonesia experience growth and development problems. Developmental delays can be prevented through early detection and developmental stimulation. Early detection and stimulation of early childhood development by parents using the Developmental Pre-Screening Questionnaire (KPSP) for ages 3 to 72 months, carried out by parents, especially mothers, can help find the occurrence of child developmental deviations that must be handled immediately by competent health workers so that child development at each stage of their age can take place optimally. Early childhood midwifery care for An.I.E was carried out 3 visits involving mothers to conduct child development assessments using KPSP. The result was that the child was in the normal category. It is recommended for parents, teachers and competent health workers to monitor the child's development continuously so that they can detect deviations that occur

Abstract

The background of this study is the nutritional status of mothers during pregnancy which can be influenced by several factors. The nutrition of pregnant women is one of the focuses of community nutrition improvement activities because of its significant impact on the condition of the fetus they are carrying. Nutritional problems that are often encountered in pregnant women are chronic energy deficiency (CED). The average level of education of the Indonesian population, especially women, is still low, this has an impact on health, encouraging infectious diseases and malnutrition. The 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) showed that the prevalence of CED risk in pregnant women (15-49 years) was still quite high, namely 17.3%. The percentage of pregnant women with CED is expected to decrease by 1.5% each year. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between education and maternal nutritional status during pregnancy at the Musuk I Health Center. The design of this study used a quantitative descriptive research type using a retrospective approach, the population technique used simple random sampling in the chi-square method, the population was 430 people who came from January to December 2023, using the slovin formula, a sample of 81 respondents was found. Research Results There is a significant relationship between maternal education and maternal nutritional status during pregnancy at the Musuk I Health Center. The results of the chi-square test obtained a value of ρ value = 0.046 <ɑ = 0.05, which means that there is a relationship between maternal education and maternal nutritional status during pregnancy at the Musuk I Health Center.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a time of significant physiological, psychological, and emotional changes in a woman's body. As the fetus develops, the mother's body undergoes changes that affect various bodily functions, one of which is increased urinary frequency. This case study was conducted on 10 third-trimester pregnant women who experienced frequent urination and its impact on their sleep. The study aims to identify triggering factors and assess the impact on sleep quality in third-trimester pregnant women. Sleep disturbances caused by frequent waking to urinate can negatively affect the physical and mental well-being of pregnant women. The study involved several third-trimester pregnant women who reported frequent nighttime urination. The results show that the majority of the participants woke up 2-5 times each night to urinate, leading to fragmented sleep and reduced sleep duration and efficiency. These sleep disturbances are associated with excessive daytime sleepiness, fatigue, and a decline in the quality of life of the pregnant women. Additionally, the findings also indicate that physical factors such as the enlarged uterus pressing on the bladder and hormonal changes play a significant role in increasing urinary frequency. The obstetric care management in this case study recommends interventions such as education on fluid intake regulation, Kegel exercises, and relaxation techniques like yoga to reduce sleep disturbances. It is hoped that this case study can provide insights for healthcare professionals to offer more effective management to improve the sleep quality and overall well-being of pregnant women.
