Abstract

This research aims to explore the methodology of child discipline in Hadith through a normative study and analyze its relevance within the context of modern education. Employing a library research method with a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach, this study focuses on the thoughts of Muhammad Nur Abdul Hafidz Suwaid in the book Manhaj At-Tarbiyah An-Nabawiyah lil Tifl. The findings indicate that the Prophetic discipline model begins with a thorough diagnosis of the root causes of a child's mistake, categorized into intellectual, practical, and personal factors. The primary methodology prioritizes non-physical approaches through intellectual correction (at-tashih al-fikri) and practical guidance (at-tashih al-amali). Physical sanctions are positioned only as a last resort (ultimum remedium), strictly governed by ethical boundaries such as the prohibition of hitting before the age of ten, the prohibition of hitting the face, and the obligation to cease sanctions if the child seeks protection in the name of Allah. This study concludes that discipline in Islam is a manifestation of compassion (rahmah) aimed at fostering internal awareness rather than mere outward compliance. This model remains highly relevant to modern pedagogical principles as it emphasizes the protection of a child’s dignity and the prevention of violence in educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze legal protection for educators against the threat of criminalization in the implementation of student discipline. The main issue lies in the antinomy between laws protecting the teaching profession and child protection laws, which often creates legal uncertainty. The method used is normative legal research with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA protocol applied to scientific literature. The results show that the criminalization of teachers is triggered by the failure to distinguish between educational disciplinary actions (animus corrigendi) and acts of violence (animus nocendi), as well as a law enforcement approach that tends to be overly legalistic without considering pedagogical dimensions. Weak implementation of norms and social pressures further exacerbate the situation. This study concludes that there is a need to reconstruct the legal paradigm by affirming protection for proportional disciplinary actions, as well as strengthening professional ethical mechanisms and justice-based approaches to prevent excessive criminalization of educators.

Abstract

Indonesia, as the world’s largest archipelagic state, faces significant maritime security challenges, particularly in strategic areas such as Dumai waters bordering the Malacca Strait, highlighting the urgency of strengthening patrol strategies to prevent maritime crimes such as illegal fishing, smuggling, and shipping-related offenses. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of patrols conducted by the Water and Air Police (Polairud) of Dumai Police Resort in preventing maritime crime using the perspective of Situational Crime Prevention (SCP). This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and a case study design, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving purposively selected informants, and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Polairud patrols have effectively implemented SCP strategies, including target hardening, access control, increasing the risk, reducing rewards, and removing excuses, which have contributed to reducing opportunities for maritime crime, although challenges remain such as the vast surveillance area and evolving criminal patterns. In conclusion, Polairud patrols in Dumai play a significant role in maritime crime prevention, but require further enhancement through technological support, stronger inter-agency coordination, and more adaptive strategies, and future research is recommended to explore the integration of surveillance technology and cross-sector collaboration in strengthening maritime security.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the management role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in addressing student delinquency at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Purwakarta. Student delinquency in madrasah environments is a serious issue that significantly impacts the quality of education and the character development of students. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research informants included BK teachers, the madrasah principal, homeroom teachers, and involved students. Data analysis followed three interactive stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal: (1) The management role of BK teachers at MTsN 2 Purwakarta is implemented through preventive actions including classical guidance, preservative actions directing students toward positive extracurricular activities, and curative actions including individual counseling and heart-to-heart communication; (2) Steps taken by BK teachers encompass personal approaches, categorization of delinquency types, provision of information services, group counseling, group guidance, and parental involvement for severe cases; (3) Obstacles faced by BK teachers include students' low self-awareness, unsupportive family backgrounds, and insufficient parental cooperation. This research affirms the importance of collaboration between BK teachers, homeroom teachers, school principals, and parents in shaping students' positive behavior.

Abstract

The Department of Population and Civil Registration of Mojokerto City has introduced a website-based service innovation, “Pak Mo,” as an effort to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and accessibility of population administration services. However, in its implementation, various technical and non-technical obstacles are still encountered, which may potentially affect the overall quality of service delivery. This study aims to describe the quality of population administration services provided by Dispendukcapil of Mojokerto City at MPP Gajah Mada. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Research informants consist of Dispendukcapil officials, service officers, and community members who use population administration services. The implementation of population administration services still faces several obstacles, such as limited public understanding regarding administrative requirements, incomplete community documents, and limited supporting service facilities at certain times. Service quality analysis uses five service quality dimensions, namely tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The results show that in the tangible and reliability dimensions, Dispendukcapil services at MPP Gajah Mada have been running well through the availability of service facilities and the implementation of clear standard operating procedures. However, in the responsiveness dimension, there are still obstacles related to response time to several community problems. In the assurance dimension, services have been able to provide data security guarantees and service certainty to the community. Meanwhile, in the empathy dimension, officers have shown friendliness and have tried to understand community needs in the service process.

Abstract

The handling procedures carried out by the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Pekanbaru City toward school students who skip classes outside school during study hours are reflected in data from a raid in October 2025, which netted 31 students from various secondary schools in Pekanbaru City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data were collected through in-depth interviews with 11 informants consisting of Satpol PP officers, guidance and counseling teachers, vice principals, students caught in the raid, and community figures. Data analysis applies the crime prevention strategy theory of Tonry and Farrington (1995), which divides prevention into three levels: primary, secondary, and tertiary. The results show that Satpol PP has implemented handling procedures based on Regional Regulation Number 13 of 2021, including intelligence monitoring, field security operations, data collection, in-office counseling, summoning parents, and handing students back to schools using a persuasive and humane approach. However, several weaknesses were identified, including a weak field verification mechanism that led to some innocent students being caught in the raid, minimal effective coordination between Satpol PP and schools, suboptimal primary and secondary prevention due to a predominantly reactive approach, and deterrent effects that are not yet fully sustainable. Schools, in contrast, have proven more effective in prevention through digital attendance systems, routine counseling, and daily communication with parents. This study recommends strengthening inter-agency coordination, improving field verification procedures, and developing more structured and sustainable primary prevention programs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of assessment in Montessori-based learning for early childhood (aged 3–6 years), particularly within the practical life area, and its implications for the development of prosocial behavior. The study is grounded in the issue that early childhood education practices remain largely dominated by conventional, teacher-centered approaches that emphasize academic achievement while providing limited opportunities for fostering children’s independence and social skills. In addition, the assessment dimension within Montessori education has not been extensively explored, particularly in relation to authentic assessment practices aligned with children’s developmental characteristics. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through documentation studies and literature review, supported by secondary data on the Gross Enrollment Rate (GER) of early childhood education in Indonesia from 2021 to 2025. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the findings was ensured through source and theoretical triangulation. The findings reveal that the implementation of Montessori learning integrated with authentic assessment significantly enhances children’s prosocial behavior, including helping, cooperation, sharing, and honesty. There is a clear shift in developmental categories from “not yet developed” and “beginning to develop” to “developing as expected” and “very well developed” across all indicators. Authentic assessment conducted through continuous observation enables educators to capture children’s development holistically and contextually. Furthermore, concrete activities within the practical life area effectively facilitate the internalization of social values through direct experience.
