Abstract

This research is based on the dynamics of the Termination of Employment (PHK) case in Surabaya City which triggered an industrial relations dispute, where the effectiveness of non-litigation mediation at the Surabaya City Industry and Manpower Office is influenced by the level of compliance of the parties. The purpose of the research is to analyze the implementation of industrial relations policies by the Surabaya City Industry and Manpower Office in facilitating dispute resolution and fulfilling the normative rights of workers affected by layoffs. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques apply an interactive model including reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The focus of the research uses the policy implementation theory from Merilee S. Grindle which includes the content of the policy and the context of implementation. The results of the research indicate that the Surabaya City Industry and Manpower Office has carried out its duties and functions well in facilitating dispute resolution, although there are still shortcomings in its implementation. From the aspect of benefit distribution, collective administrative order has been achieved, but the fulfillment of individual rights still faces obstacles due to differences in bargaining positions and limited post-mediation supervision. Research suggestions include the need to increase the number of functional mediators, transparency, and strengthening regulations.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has revolutionized the philanthropic landscape in Indonesia, facilitating public participation through digital crowdfunding platforms. As one of the pioneers in this industry, Kitabisa faces significant challenges in managing public funds accountably amidst the dynamic nature of public opinion on social media. This study analyzes how the implementation of the Governance aspect within the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework plays a role in shaping and maintaining Kitabisa's reputation as a trusted crowdfunding platform. Utilizing a media monitoring approach to assess public perception and a literature review to evaluate governance documents, this analysis demonstrates that regulatory compliance, cost transparency, strict campaign verification, and independent financial audits significantly minimize agency problems and increase donation intentions. These findings underscore that robust governance is not merely a compliance instrument, but the fundamental foundation for reputation building and organizational sustainability for philanthropic organizations in the digital era.

Abstract

The Population and Civil Registration Office of Mojokerto Regency introduced the Pelaku Paradewi innovation (Population Administration Services for Village or Urban Village Officers through a Website) to improve population administration services by bringing them closer to village communities. However, the implementation of this innovation has faced challenges, including slow service processes and frequent system errors. This study aims to analyze the optimization of e-government-based population administration services through the Pelaku Paradewi innovation at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Mojokerto Regency. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using Indrajit's (2016) theory of successful e-government implementation, which consists of three dimensions: Support, Capacity, and Value. The findings show that the implementation of Pelaku Paradewi has been relatively optimal despite several challenges. In the Support dimension, optimization is reflected through hierarchical regulations, an effective implementation team, consistently applied Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and multi-channel socialization, although information dissemination through social and mass media remains inconsistent. In the Capacity dimension, human resources are adequate in both quantity and competence, financial resources are managed efficiently through cross-sectoral collaboration despite limited budgetary independence, and infrastructure generally supports service delivery despite server instability and delays in data updates.

Abstract

This study examines the importance of the family's role in supporting and maintaining the mental health of university students who frequently face significant pressures in the modern era. University life, characterized by academic workloads, organizational responsibilities, and social competition, places students among the groups most vulnerable to psychological distress. Using a qualitative approach through a literature review method, this study analyzes how parental support and patterns of communication within the family influence the mental well-being of university students. The findings indicate that the family serves not only as a source of financial and logistical support but also as the primary source of emotional support, helping to reduce students' levels of stress, anxiety, and feelings of insecurity. Open communication, a willingness to listen without judgment, and parental validation of students' emotions are key factors in strengthening students' mental resilience amid the challenges of a rapidly changing society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which people (human resources) and technology influence the increase in student enrollment at Dharmawangsa University. The research employs a quantitative method, in which data are expressed in numerical form and analyzed using statistical techniques. Data were collected through both library research and field research conducted systematically in accordance with the research objectives. The analytical methods used to address the research problems and test the hypotheses include descriptive analysis and regression analysis. The results of the t-test indicate that the people (human resources) variable has a positive and significant effect on the increase in student enrollment at Dharmawangsa University, where the calculated t-value (t = 2.05183) exceeds the critical t-value, indicating that H? is accepted and that there is a significant relationship between human resources and the increase in student enrollment. Similarly, the technology variable has a positive and significant effect on the increase in student enrollment, with the calculated t-value (t = 2.05183) exceeding the critical t-value (t = 2.071), indicating that H? is accepted and that technology is significantly associated with the increase in student enrollment. Furthermore, the F-test results show that the calculated F-value (127.161) is greater than the critical F-value (3.35), indicating that the independent variables—people (human resources) and technology—simultaneously have a significant effect on the dependent variable, namely the increase in student enrollment. The regression analysis shows that 90.4% of the variation in the increase in student enrollment can be explained by the people (human resources) and technology variables, while the remaining 9.6% is explained by other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

Assignment deadlines are a common academic demand faced by university students. The volume of assignments requiring completion within a limited timeframe can impact students' psychological well-being. In this context, peer social support provided by individuals sharing similar experiences and situations plays a crucial role. This study aimed to determine whether a relationship exists between peer social support and the psychological well-being of students facing assignment deadlines. The study involved 114 students from Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya who were dealing with assignment deadlines. A quantitative approach utilizing a correlational research design was employed. The results revealed a significant positive correlation between peer social support and psychological well-being among students facing assignment deadlines (r = 0.591; p = 0.001), leading to the conclusion that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. These findings indicate that higher levels of peer social support are associated with higher levels of psychological well-being, whereas lower levels of peer social support are associated with lower psychological well-being.

Abstract

The berume tradition is one of the local wisdom practices of the Gayo community in Toweren Village, Lut Tawar District, Central Aceh Regency, which embodies various Islamic educational values. However, modernization, social change, and the declining participation of younger generations have posed challenges to its preservation. This study aims to identify the Islamic educational values embedded in the berume tradition and analyze the obstacles in maintaining these values. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The informants consisted of village leaders, kejurun belang (traditional agricultural leaders), religious figures, and community members involved in the tradition. The findings reveal that the berume tradition contains Islamic educational values such as ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood), ta’awun (mutual assistance), trustworthiness and responsibility, hard work, patience, sincerity, and gratitude. The obstacles identified include the declining interest of younger generations, reduced understanding of religious values, the weakening spirit of mutual cooperation, modernization, globalization, and economic pressures. Therefore, the berume tradition functions not only as an agricultural activity but also as a medium for Islamic education and character building that deserves to be preserved and sustained.

Abstract

Adolescent character formation is commonly studied as a normative role of the nuclear family, while the distance between the role that is claimed and the practice that is actually carried out is rarely examined. This article explores how parents in a rural hamlet in Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi, articulate responsibility for adolescent character formation, and how they describe their own practice. The study employs a single-site qualitative approach, using semi-structured interviews and observation involving thirteen participants comprising parents, adolescents, and local religious actors. Data were analysed thematically with source triangulation across role groups. Three findings emerge. First, participants consistently locate character formation as the primary responsibility of the nuclear family. Second, in the practice they themselves acknowledge, part of this function is carried out by other parties, namely residential religious educational institutions, extended family, and local religious actors. Third, participants link this transfer to livelihood demands, communication gaps with their children, the assumption that adolescents can already judge for themselves, and the absence of parenting guidance and adolescent development forums in their surroundings. In two participants, the normative statement and the admission of reduced involvement appeared within the same interview session. These findings offer functional delegation as a lens for reading caregiving practice in rural communities, while indicating that family strengthening programmes targeting parental knowledge alone risk missing the actors who actually perform the function.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of service quality within organizations, which is often hindered by employee dissatisfaction resulting from excessive workloads and unsupportive work environments. The objective of this study is to analyze the simultaneous influence of Job Satisfaction and Workload on Service Quality. The research employs a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis. Data were collected from 36 respondents and processed using statistical software to test the model's significance and the strength of the relationships between variables. The results indicate that Job Satisfaction and Workload simultaneously have a significant effect on Service Quality, with an F-statistic of 26.644 and a significance level of 0.000. The coefficient of determination (R-squared) of 0.375 suggests that these two variables explain 37.5% of the variation in Service Quality, while the remaining 62.5% is influenced by factors outside the research model. The relationship between the variables is categorized as moderately strong, with an R-value of 0.612. Based on these findings, it is recommended that organizational management conduct routine evaluations of workload distribution to ensure a balanced distribution of tasks for all staff. Furthermore, the organization should address psychological and work environment factors to enhance employee satisfaction, which will ultimately have a positive impact on sustainable service quality improvement.

Abstract

Ta'aruf is one of the key Qur'anic concepts governing patterns of socio-religious interaction amid the diversity of tribes, nations, and cultures. The phenomenon of social disintegration frequently triggered by identity-based sentiments makes a comprehensive understanding of this concept increasingly urgent to examine. This study aims to explore and compare the interpretations of four exegetes from different eras and methodological backgrounds—Ibn Kathir, Ar-Razi, As-Sa'di, and Wahbah az-Zuhaili in Tafsir Al-Munir—regarding the concept of ta'aruf in Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 13. This research employs a descriptive-analytical qualitative method with a library research approach and a comparative exegesis (tafsir muqaran) framework. Primary data are drawn from the exegetical works of the four scholars, while secondary data are obtained from relevant books, journals, and scholarly articles. At this stage of the study, the analysis focuses on Ibn Kathir's interpretation as the point of departure, which demonstrates that the diversity of tribes and nations was created by Allah not as a basis for mutual pride, but as a means of mutual acquaintance (ta'aruf), with piety (taqwa) as the sole legitimate measure of nobility in His sight. The comparative analysis with the interpretations of Ar-Razi, As-Sa'di, and Al-Munir, along with the formulation of common ground among the four, will be completed in a subsequent stage of research. This study is expected to contribute to strengthening the discourse on religious moderation and identity-based conflict resolution within multicultural societies.
