Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is a relationship between social attitudes and responsibility towards the results  of studying geography in Class XI SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh. In particular, this study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between social attitudes and responsibility towards the results of studying geography in class XI students of SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of correlation research. The population in this study were geography students of Class XI at SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh, which consisted of 67 students. Data collection techniques are documentation and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression test and Spearman Rank correlation test. The relationship between social attitudes and learning outcomes is equal to 0.02. The relationship between responsibility and learning outcomes is -0.14. Based on the value of the relationship, social attitudes and responsibility with learning outcomes have a very weak relationship. Based on the results of processing and discussion, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between social attitudes and responsibility for geography learning outcomes for Class XI SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh. DOI: 10.23960/jlg.v4.i2.28605

Abstract

The aimed of this study is to determine the differences between the students’ learning outcomes in geography taught through the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model using monopoly game media and students taught through the Student Teams-Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model on the subject matter of hydrocarbon compounds class X high school students. Data collection was carried out for two (2) months, namely from 20 October 2019 to 25 November 2019. The research method used was quasi-experimental research. The study population was all grade X high school students. Samples were randomly selected and obtained class X5 as an experimental class totaling 35 students and class X6 as a control class totaling 30 students. Student learning outcomes data obtained using written tests. Measurements are based on scores obtained by students based on written test results. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques with t-test. T-test results obtained are –ttabel= -1,669 thitung = 3,39ttabel = 1,6720 with a significance level of 0.05. The conclusion from the research results that there is a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students taught through the cooperative learning model Team Games Tournament (TGT) using monopoly game media with student learning outcomes taught through the Student Teams-Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model in the STAD class X high school students. 2017/2018 school year. N-Gain shows that the increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class and the control class are in the medium category that is 0.57 and 0.40. Student learning outcomes taught through the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type of cooperative learning model using monopoly game media are higher than student learning outcomes taught through the Student Teams-Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model.

Abstract

The main problem found in the students of SMA Negeri 3 Rangkasbitung is the low interest and reading behavior that affects students' readiness to participate in the learning process. In general, the problem-solving strategy used is to direct students to certain behaviors, namely fond of reading through habituation activities. The development of interest and good reading habits should begin as early as possible in childhood. Parents, especially mothers, and teachers, especially Playgroup, Kindergarten, and Elementary School teachers, have a very decisive role in these development efforts. The development of interest and reading habits should start at home. Meanwhile, schools are obliged to foster reading interests and habits that have been developed at home. Support the compulsory reading program at a certain time outside school activities, because reading is a very basic activity in a series of learning activities. Interest and good reading habits are impossible to have in a short time. Its development takes a relatively long time, and must be in line with educational developments that occur in society. The habituation process is expected to have a positive impact on students during the learning process. The learning process can run optimally, if students have readiness to learn, one of which is that students first have reference material through reading activities. The literacy movement is more developed towards subjects, meaning that books read by students are according to the subjects studied by students. Each subject requires students to finish reading several reference books within a certain period of time.

Abstract

Various learning models can eliminate students' boredom while learning. The make a match and snowball throwing learning models are learning models that use a game system. The problem in this study is whether the social studies integrated learning outcomes using the make a match model are better than the snowball throwing learning model assisted by handout media for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh. This study aims to find out whether the learning outcomes of integrated social studies using the make a match learning model are better than the snowball throwing learning model assisted by media handouts for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh. This study uses a quantitative approach, with the type of experimental research. Sampling was taken using purposive sampling technique, two classes were taken from class VIII-4 and VIII-5, totaling 60 participants. Data collection techniques using pre-test data and post-test data. Data analysis techniques using the t test. The results of data processing obtained tcount > ttable or 3.13 > 1.67 so that Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that the integrated social studies learning outcomes taught using the Make A Match learning model are better.
