Abstract

Sociology subjects are seen by a number of students as boring subjects. The content of sociology material which presents many theories and concepts such as having consequences for students to demand that everything be memorized well. Boring learning models increasingly make this subject less attractive to students Innovative strategies have been carried out, but in practice the operationalization of the learning model is less effective so that many educators return to using conventional learning models. The main problem found in the students of SMA Negeri 3 Rangkasbitung is the low interest and reading behavior that affects students' readiness to participate in the learning process. In general, the problem-solving strategy used is to direct students to certain behaviors, namely fond of reading through habituation activities. The development of interest and good reading habits should begin as early as possible in childhood. Parents, especially mothers, and teachers, especially Playgroup, Kindergarten, and Elementary School teachers, have a very decisive role in these development efforts. The development of interest and reading habits should start at home. Meanwhile, schools are obliged to foster reading interests and habits that have been developed at home. Support the compulsory reading program at a certain time outside school activities, because reading is a very basic activity in a series of learning activities. Interest and good reading habits are impossible to have in a short time. Its development takes a relatively long time, and must be in line with educational developments that occur in society. The habituation process is expected to have a positive impact on students during the learning process. The learning process can run optimally, if students have readiness to learn, one of which is that students first have reference material through reading activities. The literacy movement is more developed towards subjects, meaning that books read by students are according to the subjects studied by students. Each subject requires students to finish reading several reference books within a certain period of time.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the CORE type cooperative learning model assisted by diorama media on learning outcomes in hydrofer material at SMA Negri 5 Banda Aceh. This type of research is Quasi Experimental Design. The population of this study were all students of class X IS SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique, taken from class X IS 3 (experimental class) of 29 students and class X IS 2 (control class) of 29 students. Data collection techniques by giving tests to students, namely pre-test and post-test. Data processing techniques using the t test. The results of data processing obtained tcount = 5.12 and ttable = 1.67. According to the test criteria, Ha is accepted if tcount ttable at a significance level of 5% and dk = (n1 + n2 – 2). Based on the calculation results obtained tcount ttable or 5.12 1.67 it can be stated that Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of the CORE type cooperative learning model assisted by diorama media on learning outcomes in SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh. DOI: 10.23960/jlg.v4.i2.28606

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine a strategic framework for learning geography online. The method used in research is literature studies with a qualitative approach. The data were collected from books, scientific journals, and relevant reading references related to this literature study. The results of this research show a strategic framework for learning geography online with a scientific approach starting from the planning stage, which is group permutation and choosing online learning platforms which are both synchronous (zoom or google meet) and asynchronous (whatsapp group or google classroom), stage of implementing online learning, which is applying scientific learning (observing, asking questions, gathering information, associating and communicating information) by combining online platforms which are synchronous and asynchronous then using the internet as sources of learning, and assessment stage, where three aspects are assessed, namely attitudes, knowledge, and skills. This research implies that technology-based or online learning should be implemented in learning activity, and it has become an obligation considering the changing times that prioritize technology.

Abstract

The present study tries to find the significant different of learning result of geography subject between students who are learned with jigsaw learning model and those who are learned with teachers' explanation and discussion model. The hypothesis for the study is there is a significant different of the learning result of students who are learned geography subject with jigsaw learning model and those who are learned with teachers' explanation and discussion model. The present study applied quasi experimental approach withNon Equivalent Control Group Design. The dependent variable is learning result and its independent variable is the jigsaw learning model. As the instrument essay test was used to test the students' learning result. The results in the form of data, later, were analyzed by using t-test with SPSS 16.0 for Windows. The average gain score of the students' learning result from the experiment group is higher than in the control group, 4 , 75 and 2.60. The result data of t-test using the independent sample t test shows that the p-level is smaller than 0.05 (p 0.05), which is 0.00. The result proves that the jigsaw learning model affects the learning result. In conclusion, the jigsaw learning model affects the learning result of students of SMA Negeri 7 Malang.Based on result above, there are several services for geography teacher, namely; (a) teachers should determine expert team in other learning model; (b) teachers need to give more time for the students to comprehend the materials well. Last for the further research, the researcher could conduct the research with the same variable but different location, level of education and materials. The model should be experimented for subject other than geography in order to assure its usefulness and effectiveness.

Abstract

This research is a development study that aims to develop geographic information system on basic knowledge materials geographic information systems and analyzing the level of feasibility and effectiveness of the geographic Information system module. The type of research used is RD (Research and Development) research with a 4D development model, developed by S. Thiagarajan et al. Based on the results of the study show that (1) the feasibility level of the module based on the assessment of the three experts get an average score of 3.10 with a very feasible category, (2) the feasibility level of the module based on the assessment of students in large group tests get an average score of 3.22 with a very feasible.  For the level of effectiveness of the module measured the test results show an increase in value before and after using the module. At Pretest the mean score obtained by students was 60.68 and the mean score increased to 89.72 at Posttest.
