Abstract

The geographical location of an area has an impact on the physiological comfort in a residential area. In addition, the rapid development and climate change also have an impact on weather parameters that affect the level of comfort. This research was conducted to determine the comfort level in Banten Province using THI (Temperature Humidity Index) analysis of the parameters of air temperature and humidity. The value of the comfort level is divided using a comfort interval, for THI values between 21-24 °C there are 100% of the population declaring comfortable, THI between 25-27 °C only 50% of the population feels partially comfortable, and THI> 27 °C as much as 100% the population feels uncomfortable. Based on climate data from 1986 - 2009 at Serang Meteorological Station, Cengkareng Meteorological Station and South Tangerang Climatology Station, the results showed an average percentage of daily comfort levels with a comfortable category of 9,5% (35 days per year), some comfortable 79,2% (289 days per year) and uncomfortable 11,3% (41 days per year). During this period, there was an increase in the THI index in Banten Province which tended to be increasingly uncomfortable with the South Tangerang Climatology Station being the most significant area.

Abstract

Research on surface wind patterns has been carried out in an effort to minimize aircraft accidents at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Pekanbaru, Riau. Wind direction and speed data were obtained from synoptic observations of the Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru Meteorological Station from January to December during 1991 - 2020 (for the last 29 years). The data is then processed using the WRPLOT (Wind Rose Plots for Meteorological Data) application which can show the direction and difference in the magnitude of the wind speed and produce an image of the wind pattern in the form of a wind rose diagram. From the results of this writing, it is known that the dominant wind blows from the south (157 - 202°) with a percentage of 27.18%, then followed by the dominant wind blowing from the Northwest (292 - 337°) with a percentage of 14.68% and then the dominant wind direction from the Southeast (112 - 157°) with a percentage of 9.60%. The dominant wind speed is 6 – 9 knots with a percentage of 48.01%, then dominant with a speed of 3 – 6 knots with a percentage of 34.15%, and calms wind speed with a percentage of 7.23%. The conclusion of this paper is that the condition of the wind direction and speed at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Pekanbaru is still a safe category for the takeoff and landing process.

Abstract

To detect of urban heat island effect in Pekanbaru and to identify climate change, daily temperature data processing of Pekanbaru Meteorological Station in urban area and Japura Rengat Meteorological Station data in the rural region from 1982-2010 (29 years) include: minimum temperature, temperature 07.00 WIB, temperature at 13.00 WIB, maximum temperature and temperature at 18.00 WIB from 1982-2010 (29 years). Performed daily DTR (Daily Temperature Range = Tmaximum - Tminimum) trends, monthly, annual and decadal averages. The effects of urban heat island or urban heat island effect (UHIE) have occurred in Pekanbaru. Some of the indications are: annual average annual DTR decrease of 3.2 ° C per 100 years that does not occur in Japura Rengat. The narrowing of DTR in Pekanbaru is caused more by a very significant annual minimum temperature increase of 5.7 ° C per 100 years which is greater than the maximum temperature rise of 2.0 ° C per 100 years. Minimum temperature rise in Pekanbaru began to occur since 2000 in line with the development of the city. Other indications are significant rise in temperature of 18.00 hours which is 7.6 ° C per 100 years and temperature of 07.00 hours of 6.6 ° C per 100 years.

Abstract

Based on BNPB data, floods and flash floods are the most frequent hydrometeorological disasters in Indonesia in the last 5 years. Where the cause of this disaster in general is high intensity (heavy to extreme) rainfall. BMKG has provided early warning products related to heavy rain and potential floods or flash floods for Indonesia region. One of the potential flash flood products is SAOFFG which has been used as an initial guide for flash flood detection. Using the dichotomous verification method, this study calculates 4 verification indices to measure the performance of the SAOFFG system in detecting floods in Indonesia. The result is that the accuracy of this product is quite satisfactory, but the value of False Alarms still tends to be high, which means that this system still predicts flood potential too high compared to observed flood events, especially in several provinces in central and eastern Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of learning the habituation agenda for the Basic Training of Prospective Civil Servants (Latsar CPNS) at the Health Training Center (Bapelkes) Semarang in 2021. The research methods used include quantitative descriptive and hypothesis testing. The research population is the first batch III CPNS Latsar participants at Bapelkes Semarang in 2021 as many as 40 people. Primary data collection was obtained by distributing questionnaires via google form, while secondary data was obtained from training controller reports. To achieve the research objectives, data processing was carried out using excel and SPSS. The results showed that the effectiveness of habituation agenda learning was seen from the roles of coaches, mentors, and examiners who were perceived to be very capable of inspiring and motivating, participants had environmental scanning abilities, actualization of the basic values of Civil Servants underpinning activities, an increase in the value of the actualization design to actualization results. by 49.7%. From the average test with a 95% confidence level, it is believed that the mentoring carried out is able to change the average value of the actualization design up to 4.25. Suggestions for research are to find out the benefits of actualizing agenda 2 and agenda 3 which underlies activities for stakeholders and/or leaders, contributing to the achievement of the organization's vision, mission and goals, and strengthening organizational values. Abstract

Remote sensing is most often used to reveal atmospheric conditions such as weather radar. One of the objects captured by the instrument is volcanic ash. On March 3, 2020, Mount Merapi erupted in Sleman Regency between Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta, releasing volcanic ash. The distribution of volcanic ash is very dangerous to health and the safety of the aviation world. This study aims to identify the distribution of volcanic ash by utilizing weather radar products. The radar products used in this research are CMAX, VCUT, and CAPPI V. Based on the product analysis, it was found that the maximum reflectivity value obtained was 20 dBZ. The eruption height reached 11 km. The detected volcanic ash material is in the form of solid material, namely the types of fine ash and coarse ash. The direction of movement of volcanic ash based on radar imagery is moving towards the east.

Abstract

The productivity of an organization's performance in government can be influenced by various factors, one of the strongest factors that greatly influences the process of increasing or decreasing productivity, among others, comes from the leadership model and the application of discipline. This research was conducted using a systematic review method which aims to review published empirical research on transformational leadership that affects employee performance productivity and is mediated by discipline in government organizations. The data search strategy was carried out by a selection process from the Google Scholar, ProQuest, and Mendeley libraries. The study quality of the literature was assessed by analyzing the instrument, design and research results. The results of data extraction get the 10 best journals using the keywords transformational leadership, discipline, productivity, and governance. Based on a literature study that was systematically reviewed, the authors found that well-implemented transformational leadership can increase employee productivity in government through strengthening the application of discipline which is strongly influenced by leadership itself. So, it can be concluded that the hypothesis built in the study can be fulfilled.

Abstract

The stability index can be used by weather forecasters to predict heavy rain events. This paper examines the atmospheric stability index for the occurrence of heavy rain in Bitung City, North Sulawesi, during 2020-2021. Stability index data was obtained from the radiosonde of Sam Ratulangi Meteorological Station, Manado. The indexes studied are the Lifted Index (LI), Showalter Index (SI), K-Index (KI), CAPE, SWEAT, and Total-Totals Index (TT). The results show that heavy rain in Bitung occured when the SI, KI, SWEAT, and TT values are in the moderate category. Meanwhile, the LI and CAPE values are less representative in predicting the occurrence of heavy rain in Bitung City. Further research is needed on the relationship between the threshold value of the atmospheric stability index and the weather in Bitung City so that it can be used as a reference for weather prediction.

Abstract

North Maluku is one of the youngest first-level administrative division of Indonesia with a total area of 140.366,32 km2. The territorial waters of this province are larger than the continents. By this condition, the ecosystem tends to have sea anomaly vulnerability that might cause sea level variation such as tides. This article provides an overview over components and tidal types in North Maluku waters. Quantitative analysis using Admiralty method is carried out in this study. There are about 6 points of research sites in this province were being analyzed. The result indicates that all of 6 points research sites demonstrating a similarity final result of Formzahl value that is between 0.25 and 1.5 with varied water level parameters. It means that North Maluku waters have mixed tide prevailing semidiurnal tidal type. Therefore, this article is expected to be useful for supporting the safety and regional development in North Maluku and also could be a reference for subsequent research.

Abstract

Hasil Perairan Sulawesi Utara memiliki lokasi strategis yang dikelilingi oleh Laut Sulawesi dan Laut Maluku yang termasuk sebagai pintu gerbang massa air dari Samudera Pasifik, yang memiliki banyak potensi ikan dan daerah penangkapan ikan. Salah satu permasalahan yang secara alami dihadapi nelayan yaitu dampak dari El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) yang dapat mempengaruhi kesuburan laut, variabilitas suhu permukaan laut dan klorofil-a di perairan Sulawesi Utara. Penelitian ini berfokus untuk mengkaji variabilitas parameter oseanografi untuk menentukan daerah penangkapan ikan di Laut Sulawesi dengan menggunakan data satelit AQUA-MODIS, serta menganalisis bagaimana pengaruh ENSO terhadap hasil tangkapan dan CPUE di perairan Sulawesi Utara. Variabilitas parameter oseanografi seperti suhu permukaan laut, klorofil-a, dan angin permukaan dianalisis secara temporal dan uji korelasi antar parameter dengan metode korelasi pearson digunakan untuk mengukur hubungan Indeks Nino 3.4 terhadap Hasil Tangkapan dan CPUE. Variabilitas temporal parameter oseanografi menunjukkan pola yang relatif sama di setiap periode musimnya. Suhu cenderung hangat dan nilai konsentrasi klorofil-a rendah di periode musim barat hingga musim peralihan I, sedangkan pada periode musim timur hingga peralihan II suhu cenderung lebih dingin dan nilai konsentrasi klorofil-a tinggi. Angin permukaan menunjukkan nilai kecepatan angin yang relatif tinggi pada musim timur. Uji korelasi Indeks Nino 3.4 terhadap Hasil tangkapan dan CPUE memiliki hubungan negatif atau berbanding terbalik dan cukup signifikan pengaruhnya.
