This study aims to explore descriptively the development of coffee plants in Indonesia. This research uses literature study and secondary data. Data mainly obtained from Coffee Statistics published by Indonesian Statistic Center. The results showed that the People's Plantation is the largest coffee plantation, with the highest production and highest productivity. Meanwhile, large state-owned companies and large private companies tend to experience a decrease in both the area of coffee plantations, their production, and productivity. In Indonesia, the provinces with the largest areas and high production followed by productivity are the provinces of South Sumatra, Lampung, Aceh, North Sumatra, and Bengkulu.

Abstract

The agricultural sector is one of the sources of income in Indonesia, including in the field of horticulture. Shallots are one of the most widely cultivated horticultural commodities in Indonesia due to their diverse benefits. It is important to analyse the feasibility of shallot farming so that farmers can determine whether the business is feasible or not to be developed. This study aims to analyse the feasibility of shallot farming in Mina Makmur farmer group, Limusnunggal Village, Cibeureum Sub-district, Sukabumi City. The method used in this study is a survey with primary and secondary data sources. Respondents were determined by purposive method, namely farmers who received shallot seed assistance from the government. Data were analysed using farm analysis. The results showed that the R/C Ratio value was 1.55. Because the R/C Ratio value is greater than 1, shallot farming in the Mina Makmur farmer group in Limusnunggal Village is considered feasible. to be developed

Abstract

The objective of this study was to ascertain the income potential and viability of paddy rice farming within the Cibaregbeg farmer group in Cimenteng Village, Curugkembar District, Sukabumi Regency. The sampling method employed in this study was the saturated sampling method or census, whereby all members of the farmer group (n=25) were invited to participate as respondents. This study employs a survey methodology. The data analysis employed in this research is descriptive quantitative. The findings of this study indicate that the average revenue received by farmers who are members of the Cibaregbeg farmer group is Rp18,872,000 per hectare per growing season, with a total cost of Rp9,609,208 per hectare per growing season, resulting in a total income of Rp9,374,720 per hectare per growing season. The results of the R/C ratio analysis indicated a ratio of 1.98, which signifies that for every 1 rupiah spent on rice paddies in the Cibaregbeg farmer group, a revenue of 1.98 is generated. These findings substantiate the feasibility of rice paddies cultivation in the Cibaregbeg farmer group.

Abstract

Twelagiri Village, Pagedongan District, Banjarnegara Regency, is one of the main producers of Robusta coffee facing sustainability challenges across the economic, social, and ecological dimensions. This study aims to analyze the sustainability level of Robusta coffee farming in the KOPBASEL Farmer Group based on these three dimensions. The research was conducted from June to August 2022 using a quantitative approach. Primary data were collected through structured interviews with questionnaires, while secondary data were obtained from literature studies. A total of 25 members of the farmer group were selected as respondents using a census method. Sustainability analysis was carried out using the Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) method with the RAPFISH (Rapid Assessment Techniques for Fisheries) software, processed in Microsoft Excel. The results show that the sustainability index of Robusta coffee farming in Twelagiri Village is 58.61 for the economic dimension (fairly sustainable), 62.97 for the social dimension (fairly sustainable), and 79.36 for the ecological dimension (highly sustainable). The ecological dimension demonstrated the best result with a highly sustainable status, while the economic and social dimensions showed a fairly sustainable level. The sustainability of Robusta coffee farming is highly dependent on maintaining seed quality and proper fertilizer management, as well as the expansion of information and participation of farmer group members in extension activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the business development strategy of abon (shredded meat) at UMKM Langkah Maju using a SWOT approach. The analysis evaluates internal factors, including strengths and weaknesses, as well as external factors, such as opportunities and threats that affect business growth. The results indicate that UMKM Langkah Maju's main strengths lie in high-quality raw materials, distinctive flavors, and competitive pricing. However, challenges such as limited production capacity, suboptimal marketing, and competition with large-scale abon producers remain significant. By leveraging opportunities such as increasing market demand, digital marketing, and government support, the recommended strategies include market expansion, product innovation, and branding improvement. This study is expected to serve as a reference for developing creative economy-based MSMEs to enhance competitiveness and achieve sustainable business growth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the technical efficiency of shallot farming in Nganjuk Regency using the Cobb-Douglas Stochastic Frontier production function approach. The research was conducted in four sub-districts with a total of 130 farmer respondents. Sampling was carried out using the accidental sampling technique, and data were analyzed using the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method. The results show that the technical efficiency of shallot farmers is relatively high, with an average score of 0.966, a maximum of 0.998, and a minimum of 0.901. The majority of farmers (98%) fall within the efficiency range of 0.91–1.00. Among the six input variables analyzed, three were found to significantly affect production: seed (0.298), land area (-0.066), and ZA fertilizer (-0.092). On the other hand, farmer age was found to increase technical inefficiency (0.004), while farming experience reduced inefficiency (-0.005). These findings indicate that improving efficiency can be achieved by optimizing input use and leveraging farmers' experience in managing agricultural practices more effectively.

Abstract

Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora) is one of the leading commodities in Tulungagung Regency that has great potential to be developed through an agribusiness approach. However, limited market access and low product competitiveness are the main challenges for coffee farmers in increasing their income. This study aims to formulate an effective digital marketing strategy in supporting robusta coffee agribusiness and analyse its impact on increasing farmers' income. The method used was a descriptive qualitative and quantitative approach through surveys, in-depth interviews, and SWOT analysis of local coffee agribusiness actors, including farmer cooperatives and coffee processing MSMEs. The results show that the utilisation of social media, e-commerce, and other digital platforms can expand market reach, increase product added value, and strengthen the branding of Tulungagung robusta coffee. Digital strategies integrated with strengthening farmers' capacity in information technology have proven effective in increasing sales volume and farmers' income. Therefore, digital marketing is a relevant strategic step to strengthen the competitiveness of robusta coffee agribusiness in the digital economy era.

Abstract

Research aims to forecast sugar production and consumption in Indonesia for 2022–2025 and analyze its implications for the national self-sufficiency target by 2025. The research method employs ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) time series analysis using secondary data from BPS and the Ministry of Agriculture (1990–2021). Results indicate that sugar production in 2025 is projected to reach 2.72 million tons, while consumption will hit 8.45 million tons, resulting in a mere 32.19% self-sufficiency rate (far below the 90% target). Key constraints include stagnant sugarcane acreage, low yield (7%), and inefficient sugar mills. The study concludes that the 2025 target is unachievable without aggressive policy interventions, such as land expansion, productivity improvements, and industry modernization. These findings provide a basis for policymakers to redesign more realistic sugar sector strategies.
