Abstract

Farmer groups in Trebengun Village are starting to have concerns about the reduction of subsidized fertilizers from the government which has an impact on crop production. On the other hand, most of the people of Trebungan have cattle that produce solid manure waste. Cow manure waste has not been used so far and has become an environmental pollutant in Trebungan Village. Cow manure waste is one of the materials that contains quite high nitrogen content. This condition can be a solution to meet the fertilizer needs of farmer groups. The purpose of the service activity is to process cow dung waste into solid organic fertilizer. Service activities consist of: a) Socialization, b) Assistance in fertilizer manufacturing practices, and c) Product feasibility evaluation. The manufacture of organic fertilizer made from cow dung is enriched with Local Microorganisms (MOL) to improve the quality and quality of fertilizer. The service activity runs for 3 months. The obstacle experienced during the manufacture of organic fertilizer is the inaccurate dosage of microorganism and water solutions applied to cow manure. However, the Farmer Group and the University of Jember Service Team can make organic fertilizers that are in accordance with national quality standards.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has high potential in the agricultural sector. However, the use of fertilizers that are not environmentally friendly, the continuous application of chemicals, and inappropriate land management and cultivation systems will increase land degradation and cause losses for future generations. The "Jakatik" product is an innovative solution for the bio-fertilizer business for eternal lucky mushrooms with probiotics from leri water waste, fruit, and vegetables, an effort to utilize and improve the economy of biological waste materials. The aim of this research is to determine mapping using the Triple Layer Business Model Canvas (TLBMC) approach and to determine sustainable decision-making using the Plus Minus Implication Analysis (PMIA) method approach. The research method uses descriptive and analytical methods. The research results show 1) The results of the business model mapping based on TLBMC in the economic layer describe all the elements and are strengthened, the environmental layer cannot describe the End of life element, because the packaging is not environmentally friendly. Meanwhile, the social layer cannot describe the elements of social culture and social impact because there is no special responsibility given to society and there is no negative social impact. 2) Decision making based on PMIA (Plus Minus Implication Analysis) analysis, the economic layer produces the highest score of 114, so it is necessary to strengthen the business model in customer segment elements by increasing promotions. The environmental layer produces a low score of 91, so it is necessary to develop a business model in the form of adjustments to production quantities according to marketing targets and urge users to apply immediately. Meanwhile, the social layer produces 112 values, so it is necessary to strengthen the business model, especially at the end-user element, by including rules of use.

Abstract

To support the successful propagation of cocoa plagiotrope cuttings, nutrients (N and P) and hormone (IAA) are applied to increase plant growth. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the provision of nutrients (N and P) and hormone (IAA) on the growth of cocoa plagiotrope cuttings. The experiment was carried out factorial with the basic pattern of Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and was repetitively replications by three times. The first factor was the dose of urea (N) and SP-36 (P) which consisted of 3 levels, such as P0 (0 g/polybag urea and 0 g/polybag SP-36), P1 (3,5 g/polybag urea and 2,5 g/polybag SP-36), and P2 (7 g/polybag urea and 5 g/polybag SP-36). The second factor was the concentration of IAA which consisted of 5 levels, such as I0 (0 ppm), I1 (50 ppm), I2 (100 ppm), I3 (150 ppm), and I4 (200 ppm). The results showed (1) the interaction between the application of the nutrients (N and P) and hormone (IAA) had no significant effect on all observed variables except the number of leaves, where the best treatment combination was the application of fertilizer doses of 0 g/polybag urea + 0 g/polybag SP-36 and IAA concentration of 100 ppm (P0I2) (2) application of the nutrients (N and P) with dose of P1 increased seedling growth on all observed variables except the number of leaves, shoot diameter, and shoot length (3) application of IAA with concentration of I1 increased seedlings growth, that is the number of primary roots/cuttings and shoot length.

Abstract

The decline in agricultural land area due to land conversion has reduced domestic food production capacity and worsened national food security. This challenge exacerbates the efficiency of the agricultural system and the limitations of water resources needed for farming. One proposed solution is the implementation of modern agricultural systems, such as aquaponics, which integrates fish farming and plant cultivation in a single water recirculation system. This innovation allows for efficient use of land and water, making it a potential solution to increase sustainable food production on limited land. The BUDIKDAMBER (Fish Cultivation in Buckets) system, an adaptation of aquaponics, offers opportunities for small-scale farming in areas with limited land and water. This program is implemented in Sumber Tengah Village, Binakal District, Bondowoso Regency, with the goal of improving household food security and introducing a household-based farming system. The program starts with a survey, followed by socialization, training, and mentoring. Initial results show the potential of the BUDIKDAMBER system to improve food availability and reduce dependence on external supplies, while also opening up economic opportunities for the village community. The implementation of BUDIKDAMBER not only enhances food security but also supports local economic sustainability by efficiently utilizing local resources and embracing a circular economy.

Abstract

Porang commodity produced in several district centers in East Java province, has good quality, so it is very good to be developed optimally. However, the supply chain performance that leads to the value chain still needs to be improved to be more efficient. Data analysis methods used in this study include value chain analysis and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The objectives of this research are: (1) to identify the mapping of the Porang value chain in East Java, and (2) to analyze the level of importance of the Porang value chain actors in East Java. Based on the results of the research, mapping the porang value chain in East Java stated that the actors consisted of porang spore suppliers and saprodi providers, producers were porang farmers, traders there were collectors, and porang processors acted as industrial consumers. There are three main streams in mapping the porang value chain, namely product flow, information flow and financial flow, starting from input suppliers, farmers, traders to processors/consumers. Based on the level of interest of the actors in the AHP hierarchical analysis, it can be seen the elements in decision making on the main activities, supporting activities and stakeholder performance. In the main activity, actors with superior importance were selected which showed that the implementation of product maintenance before resale has a very strong influence on value creators. In the supporting activities selected as the leading stakeholder, which shows that the implementation of general management of the company has a very strong influence on value creators. While the performance activity, which shows that the implementation of product maintenance before resale has an above average performance.
