Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan keterampilan esensial bagi peserta didik untuk menunjang pemahaman konsep matematika dan penerapannya dalam berbagai situasi kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik kelas VI SDN 2 Sukasari. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model PBL meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dengan 62,5% peserta didik pada kelompok eksperimen mencapai kategori sangat tinggi, dibandingkan dengan peningkatan yang kurang optimal pada kelompok kontrol dengan capaian sedang. Uji-t mengonfirmasi perbedaan signifikan antar kelompok (p < 0,001), sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model PBL berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik kelas VI SDN 2 Sukasari.

Abstract

English vocabulary ability is one of the important aspects in learning and understanding English effectively. This study aims at determining the use and impact of employing “Make a Match” learning model to improve the 5th grade students’ English vocabulary ability of SD Negeri 2 Maparah. This study uses a qualitative method under a classroom action research (CAR) approach. The results of the study show that the use of Make a Match learning model is proven to be significantly successful to improve the 5th grade students’ English vocabulary ability of SD Negeri 2 Maparah, as indicated by an increasing of the completion score of 62.5% in cycle I to 93.75% in cycle II. In addition, the use of Make a Match learning model shows a positive impact to improve the 5th grade students’ English vocabulary ability of SD Negeri 2 Maparah. In conclusion, the use of Make a Match learning model is effective to improve the 5th grade students’ English vocabulary ability of SD Negeri 2 Maparah.

Abstract

Reading interest is a key component to develop literacy skills, especially for first-grade elementary students to begin their learning journey. This study aims to explore the reading interest of first-grade students at SDN 4 Kertasari, the strategies used by teachers to enhance it, and the impact of those strategies. The study employed a qualitative method under a case study approach. The results of the study revealed that there is a positive improvement on students' reading interest, as shown through enthusiastic expressions, high curiosity, strong focus during reading, and feelings of satisfaction. Afterwards, the teacher’s strategies included: (1) daily 15 minutes reading habits; (2) providing a comfortable reading corner; (3) displaying illustrated motivational words; and (4) offering colorful, engaging books. This strategy has a positive impact on reading comprehension, reading fluency, letter recognition, and receiving feedback from parents towards the teacher’s success in increasing their children’s reading interest.

Abstract

Social sensitivity is formed from empathy that develops through supportive parenting. This study aims to determine the relationship between parenting patterns and empathy of elementary school students. The study involved 118 participants in grades IV, V, and VI at MIS Ciwahangan using a quantitative correlational approach. Likert scale questionnaire that had been verified by experts became the data collection tool. The results showed that almost all parents have an empathy level (81.84%) and apply parenting patterns according to indicators (78.25%). With a correlation coefficient of r = 0.509 and a significance value of 0.000, the correlation test results show a fairly strong relationship between parenting patterns and student empathy. This indicates that students' empathy levels increase as parenting practices improve, with the strength of the relationship being in the moderate range. Empathy that grows through supportive parenting plays an important role in shaping moral character and strengthening healthy social relationships.

Abstract

Students’ creativity is the ability to generate original and meaningful works of art. This study aims to know the role of fine arts learning in developing the creativity of 4th grade students at SDN 1 Langkapsari, and to know the diffulties and solutions to the role of fine arts learning in developing students’ creativity at SDN 1 Langkapsari. This study employs a qualitative method under a phenomenological approach. The findings showed that visual art learning using a practice-based approach and freedom of expression is effective to foster students’ enthusiasm, imagination, and confidence in creating artwork. Although there were some difficulties such as lack of experience, limited imagination, and low of self-confidence, those difficulties were successfully overcome through a free thematic strategy based on students’ personal experiences. In addition, the teacher’s role as a facilitator was the key to develop students’ creativity and courage.

Abstract

Critical thinking is a crucial 21st-century skill, especially for helping students solve problems and make sound decisions. This research aimed to explore the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Reinforcement Project (P5) in enhancing the critical thinking skills of sixth-grade students at SDN 1 Sukahurip. The P5 project proved effective in boosting the critical thinking skills of these students. This qualitative classroom action research, which adopted Kurt Lewin's Model, involved sixth-grade students in project-based learning. Before P5 implementation, the average critical thinking skill score of students was only 1.8, falling into the "sufficient" category (46.1%). Following Cycle I of P5, scores significantly increased to 2.8, reaching the "good" category (71.2%). The improvement continued in Cycle II, where the average score reached 3.7, placing it in the "very good" category (92.5%). This enhancement encompassed aspects like analyzing information, evaluating arguments, and problem-solving, demonstrating that P5 is highly effective in developing these skills in students.

Abstract

Literacy program is an activity to increase students’ interest in reading. The study aims to determine the implementation and impact of literacy program to increase the reading enthusiasm at 4th grade students of SDN 2 Pasirlawang, Ciamis Regency. This study used a qualitative method under a case study. The results of the study showed that the literacy program at 4th grade students of SDN 2 Pasirlawang, Ciamis Regency was implemented well and effectively, at which the program was able to foster the students' reading habits, train students' analysis, and students' understanding in writing. In addition, the implementation of literacy program at 4th grade students of SDN 2 Pasirlawang, Ciamis Regency had an impact on: (1) increasing students' enthusiasm to read; (2) increasing students' ability to analyze and summarize reading into journal; (3) increasing students' skill in writing and critical thinking; (4) increasing students’ pleasure in participating literacy activities at school.

Abstract

Self-confidence is very important aspect to create student’s success in both academic and personal fields. The study aims to know to what extent does diadik interpersonal communication applied by the teacher impact to improve the student’s self-confidence in MI PUI Cikuman Banjarsari. The study used qualitative method under a phenomenological approach. This results of the study showed that diadik personal communication was quite good to solve the student’s problem. Meanwhile, the difficulty faced by the student was: the student doesn't live with his/her parents; the student doesn’t have confident when performs the presentation in front of the class. Then, the solution given was: to solve the first problem is the teacher carried out the intents diadik personal communication (face to face) to the student; to solve the second problem was the teacher gave self-confident understanding to the student, then giving them examples how to perform the presentation in front of the class.
