Abstract

Pain is multidimensional. Pharmacological therapy is still not optimal and has unwanted side effects. Therefore, a safe, effective, and comprehensive non-pharmacological therapy is needed to compensate for the lack of pharmacological therapy. Listening to the recitation of the Quran in several studies has been shown to have a relaxing effect in various situations. The study aims to see whether listening to the Quran as a type of non-pharmacological therapy will help people overcome pain. Method used is comprehensive search on multiple databases (Clinical Key, Cochrane Lab, Medline, Host EBSCO, ProQuest, Science Direct, and Springer Link) using the term "Quran, Holy Quran, Koran, Quran, Pain, Pain Management, and endorphins.". There were 209 articles found, and after several screening stages, 9 articles met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The level of evidence and the Cochrane Collaboration's tool for assessing the risk of bias was used to assess the article's quality. The result is listening to The Qur'an has been shown to reduce pain in post-surgery, blood sampling, wound care, dysmenorrhea, and childbirth. Some studies are still lacking evidence and are biased. Listening to the Quran is highly recommended for use as a health service.

Abstract

Tropical diseases are associated with tropical regions, but global access travel, climate change, and environmental factors affecting disease vectors may spread to non-endemic countries. This review reinforces the view of nurses' roles and challenges to providing care for tropical diseases. This scoping review search included: SCOPUS, PubMed, EBSCO Medline, Science Direct, and citation search: Google Scholar. Studies included if the population was nurses or part of a multidisciplinary or provider intervention on tropical diseases and original English articles between 2011 and 2021 with various methods. From 773 studies identified, 23 met the inclusion criteria. Three themes emerged: 1) nurses role as health providers, educators, motivators, leaders, collaboration, and coordination; 2) providing safe working and job satisfaction; and 3) The role of organizations, health systems, and policymakers. There were also three challenges: 1) lack of skills, knowledge, and training for nurses, 2) the stigma of tropical diseases, 3) sociocultural approach. The role and practice of nursing in tropical diseases vary across healthcare settings, influenced by nurses' stigma, knowledge, training, job safety, and satisfaction. Nurse lack knowledge and training compared to other health workers. Potential to increase nurse participation with a sociocultural approach and involving nurse's leadership roles require further research

Abstract

Nurses are frontliners during the COVID-19 pandemic and are vulnerable to ethical challenges when caring for patients with COVID-19. The ethical challenge of nurses is basically due to the gap between nursing practice and nursing goals. This study aims to identify empirical evidence related to the ethical challenges nurses face when caring for COVID-19 patients. This research method uses a literature study that analyzes articles from five international reputable databases such as CINAHL, Pubmed, Proquest, Science Direct, and search engines Google Scholar. The keywords used to facilitate the search for articles were 'COVID-19', 'critical care nursing', 'intensive care nursing', 'intensive care nurses', 'critical nurses', 'intensive care nurses', 'caring', 'ethical challenges', 'ethical issues', 'ethic dilemmas', ethical challenges', 'ethical issues', and 'ethical dilemmas'. with the help of boolean operators and then the articles are selected gradually using PRISMA. From the search results obtained 7 articles that deserve to be analyzed. There are three themes related to ethical challenges that occur, namely ethical challenges in the nursing care process, ethical challenges in nursing professionals, and ethical challenges in health interprofessional relationships. Ethical challenges cause nurse discomfort at work, and can even cause job stress. Regarding these results, nurses need to get support to overcome ethical dilemmas that occur through the provision of resources according to needs, preparation of SOPs regarding the roles and duties of nurses, as well as increasing knowledge regarding the care of COVID-19 patients.

Abstract

Knowledge of heart failure patients' self-care influences pa-tient adherence and readiness for independent care at home. Self-care enhancement is a significant focus of heart failure management programs. Efforts can be made by providing self-care education using conventional media and the web. The current study aimed to determine the effectiveness of education using web media and booklets on self-care in heart failure patients. This research was an experimental study with a pretest-posttest design. Eligible respondents will be divided into two groups. A web group was a group that was given self-care education through the web, and a booklet group was given education using booklets. The questionnaire used the Self-Care Heart Failure Index to measure the patient's self-care score. An Independent t-test was used to analyze differences in self-care scores in the two groups. Of 76 respondents in this study, >50% were male, and most were in the adult age range (36-55 years old). Based on the results of the inde-pendent t-test in both groups (web and booklet) showed a significant differ-ence in the mean self-care score (p-value = 0.001). It illustrates that web media is more effective than booklet media. Providing education using media that health workers follow up is important to do as an effort to improve self-care in heart failure patients.

The conclusion is that disaster training and simulation programs involving family members have proven effective in building confidence and necessary skills. This research can be concluded that family disaster preparedness depends on good knowledge and planning.
