Abstract

It was a quasi-experimental research with pretest and posttest design.  It was instigated by the low of student learning achievement on Thermochemistry lesson.  This research aimed at knowing the effect of implementing Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model with Kokami media toward student learning achievement on Thermochemistry lesson.  The subjects of this research were the eleventh-grade students of Natural Science of State Senior High School 1 Tambusai Utara.  Simple random sampling technique was used in this research, and it was obtained two classes—the eleventh-grade students of Natural Science 2 as the experimental group and the students of Natural Science 1 as the control group.  The data were collected by using observation, preliminary data test that was homogeneity, final data tests that were pretest and posttest, and documentation.  Kp formula was used to know the effect of implementing TGT learning model with Kokami media toward student learning achievement.  The effect difference was analyzed by using independent sample t-test.  The analysis results of preliminary and final data showed that tobserved was 3.184 and ttable was 1.995 at 0.05 significant level.  The score of tobserved was higher than ttable, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted.  It meant that there was an effect of implementing TGT learning model with Kokami media toward student learning achievement on Thermochemistry lesson at the eleventh grade of Natural Science of State Senior High School 1 Tambusai Utara, and the effect was 16.3%.Keywords: Learning Achievement, Teams Games Tournament (TGT), Kokami Media, Thermochemistry

Abstract

Abstract This research aimed at developing learning media using Lectora Ispire interactive multimedia on Buffer Solution lesson and knowing the levels of validity, practicality, and student response to the learning media developed. It was a Research and Development (R&D) with Luther development model that was limited to the fifth steptesting. This research was administered at State Senior High School 9 Pekanbaru. The subjects of this research were the lecturers, Chemistry subject teachers, and students. The object was learning media using Lectora Ispire interactive multimedia on Buffer Solution lesson. Validation test questionnaire, practicality test questionnaire, student response test, and interview were the techniques of collecting the data. The data obtained then were analyzed by using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The research findings showed that the media validity level was 90.5% with very valid criterion, the practicality level was 94.17% with very practical criterion, and student response to the learning media was 91.6% with very good criterion. Based on this research, it could be concluded that learning media using Lectora Ispire interactive multimedia on Buffer Solution lesson was very valid and practical, so it was proper to be used as learning media at school. Keywords : Learning Media, Lectora Inspire, Buffer Solution

Abstract

AbstractLess innovative learning media, especially on Chemistry learning, made students uninterested in the learning.  This research aimed at producing Nearpod based interactive learning media on Periodic System of the Elements lesson that was valid and practical based on the result of validity test by material and media experts, and practical test by chemistry teacher and students.  Research and Development (R&D) method was used in this research with 4D (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate) development model.  This research was administered at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Pekanbaru.  The subjects of this research were material and media experts, teachers, and students.  The object was Nearpod based interactive learning media on Periodic System of the Elements lesson.  The validation result by media and material experts showed that the score was 95% with very valid criterion.  The result of teacher practicality test was 95.45% with very practical criterion, and the result of student practicality test was 93.27% with very practical criterion.  So that, Nearpod based interactive learning media on Periodic System of the Elements lesson could be used to support the learning.Keywords : Interactive Learning Media, Nearpod, Periodic System of the Elements

Abstract

Indonesia is facing the industrial era 4.0, where all systems are digitally connected, thus demanding the world of education to constantly adapt technological developments to efforts to improve the quality of education, especially in the use of learning media. This study aims to produce a learning media design in the form of an Android Weblog application based on Chemo-edutainment and to determine the feasibility level and students' responses to the media. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) development research. This research uses the Brog and Gall development model, which is limited to the 5th stage, namely data collection, planning, initial product development, initial trials and revisions. The initial trial was conducted at SMAN 5 Tapung on two chemistry teachers and 10 class XII MIA students. The data obtained were then analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The Chemo-edutainment-based Weblog Android application on material colligative properties of solutions that have been tested is very valid with a percentage of 93% from media experts, 75% valid from material experts, and practicality tests by teachers and students obtain a percentage of 88.6% with efficient criteria. However, this research still has some shortcomings so it is expected that in the future an effectiveness test will be carried out to determine the effectiveness of the media.Keywords : Android Aplication, Weblog, Chemo-Edutainment, Colligative Solution Properties

Abstract

This research was instigated by the low result of most student in chemistry learning at Senior High School 1 Tebing Tinggi from the microscopic aspect, specially on hydrocarbon lesson. This research aimed at knowing whether there was an effect of utilizing sawdust as molecular model toward student microscopic comprehension level on Hydrocarbon lesson. Quasi-Experiment method was used in this research with Pretest Posttest Control Group design.  Simple Random Sampling was used in this research. The samples were the eleventh-grade students of MIA 2 as the control group and the students of MIA 4 as the experimental group.  The instrument used was multiple choice test.  The research findings showed that tobserved was 4.11 and ttable was 2.00, tobserved was higher than ttable, and it showed that there was an effect of utilizing sawdust as molecular model toward student microscopic comprehension level 21.4%Keywords : Sawdust Utilization, Molecular Model, Microscopic Level, Hydrocarbon

Abstract

Abstract This research aimed at designing Guided Note Taking (GNT) based module that was valid based on the validation by the experts of material and media, teacher practicality, and student response on Atomic Structure and Periodic System of the Elements lesson. It was R&D (Research and Development) with 4-D development model. It was administered at State Senior High School 12 Pekanbaru and it was conducted to the tenth-grade students of MIPA 4. The module could be stated proper if it complied the valid and practical aspects. Validity could be seen from the results of validation that the validation sheet was used. The percentage of the validation result by the experts of material overall was 94.74% and it was on very valid category. The percentage of the validation result by the experts of media overall was 86.6% and it was on very valid category. Practicality test was conducted to 3 teachers and it was obtained the result 84.44% and it was on very practical category. Abstract

AbstractAbstract Science learning, especially chemistry, also has an important role in shaping the character of a person through the application of scientific properties ranging from investigating, conducting experiments, discussing and communicating experimental results in a scientific process. The Green Chemistry approach is closely related to how to overcome environmental problems. Some studies suggest that green chemistry aims to minimize and or eliminate harmful substances in a chemical process, replaced with substances that are more environmentally friendly so as to overcome environmental problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of clay as a green chemistry-based molymod learning medium on molecular geometry material of SMK class X. This research method is descriptive research. This research was conducted in class X TBSM B SMK Negeri 2 North Tambusai which amounted to 19 people. The types of data collection carried out in this study are test and non-test. Test techniques are measurements of learners' abilities. Non-test techniques are carried out through observation of student activities during the learning process. Abstract

This research is based on the lack of activity of students in the learning process, the learning process is carried out only centered on the teacher and the media used by the teacher is only in the form of power points that have not been developed, so that students are less interested in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to develop STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) based learning videos and determine the level of validity and practicality. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4-D development model which includes 4 phases, including: Define, Design, Development, Disseminate. This research was carried out up to the third stage including: 1) At the Define stage, it was carried out to get an overview of the conditions in the field, 2) at the Design stage, it was carried out to design STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) based learning videos, 3) at the Development stage This is followed by validity and practicality testing. The test subjects in this study were students of class XI MIPA-2 SMAN 1 West Sumatra. The results of the study show that: 1) STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) based learning videos have met the valid criteria with a validation result of 89.28%. 2) the developed STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division)-based learning videos have met practical criteria with 83.75% student questionnaire results and 77.5% teacher questionnaires. Abstract

Abstract This research is motivated by the facts found in the field that the teaching materials used at SMAN 2 Rambatan have not been able to attract students' interest in learning, so that students have difficulty understanding the material and solving problems related to the material. The purpose of this research is to produce a Chemo-Edutainment (CET)-based Student Worksheet on colloidal system material that is valid and practical. The type of research that I use is development research using a 4-D development model consisting of 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The CET-based LKPD product was validated by two chemistry education lecturers and one chemistry teacher using a validation sheet. Practicality trials were carried out by 14 students of class XI MIPA SMAN 2 Rambatan using a response questionnaire. The results obtained are LKPD based on CET which has characteristics consisting of components including LKPD title, student identity, instructions for use, competencies to be achieved, chemistry info, simple experiments and practice questions in the form of educational games that attract interest. students to do the exercises, the last component is the existence of a golsarium and bibliography. The validity obtained by this CET-based LKPD obtained a percentage of 94.35% with very valid criteria. The practical results of this CET-based LKPD obtained a percentage of 93.80% with very practical criteria. With this, it can be concluded that the CET-based worksheets designed are valid and practical to be used as teaching materials in the learning process. Keywords: LKPD, Chemo-Edutaintment, Validity, Practicality

Abstract

This research were investigated by the lack of socio-scientific issue (SSI)-based pop up book media. This research aimed at designing SSI-based pop up book media on crude oil lesson. Research and development (R&D) method was used in this research with borg and gall model that was limited to the fifth stage. The stages were collecting the data, planning, developing the product, testing the product, and revising. SSI-based pop up book media on crude oil lesson was tested valid with the percentage 94.4% (very valid), it was tested practical with the percentage 96.1% (very practical), and it got good response to overall content of pop up book with the percentage 96.7% (very practical). Based on these findings, it could be concluded that SSI-based pop up book media on crude oil lesson was proper to be used as a learning media for students at school.Keywords : Pop Up Book, Socio-Scientific Issue (SSI), Crude Oil
