Abstract

Abstract

Background : Nursing students face academic demands that may negatively affect mental health and academic achievement. Coping mechanisms are essential strategies for managing stressors; however, the effectiveness of different coping types in influencing learning-related stress remains inconsistent. Objective: This study aimed to analyze coping mechanisms as predictors of learning-related stress among students. Methods: This study employed a quantitative cross-sectional design. A total of 71 students were included using a total sampling technique. The instruments used were the Brief COPE questionnaire and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10). Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with a significance level of 0.05. Results: The results of the analysis showed that the predictors of less useful coping [T1.1][MK1.2] had a significant effect on learning stress (p = 0.003). Conclusion: The use of less useful coping is a predictor of learning stress in nursing diploma students compared to problem-focused coping and emotional-focused coping. Strengthening adaptive coping and reducing the use of maladaptive coping needs to be the focus of educational interventions and student mentoring.

Abstract

Introduction: NCDs including diabetes are becoming an increasingly urgent health problem worldwide and in Indonesia. DMT2 can reduce quality of life through various complications, so it is important to understand the role of coping mechanisms, stress, self-care, and religiosity in supporting the well-being of DMT2 patients. This study aims to determine the factors that affect quality of life in DMT2 patients. Method: This was a correlational study with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of people with T2DM, with a sample of 162 people using proportional random sampling. Data collection methods included the TBCI, DDS, SDSCA, MUDRAS, and DQOL questionnaires. Multiple linear regression was used for statistical analysis. Result: The results showed that there was a significant simultaneous influence of coping mechanisms, stress, self-care, and religiosity on the quality of life of DMT2 patients (p < 0.05). Conclusion: There was a significant simultaneous influence of coping mechanisms, stress, self-care, and religiosity on the quality of life of DMT2 patients. It is recommended that non-pharmacological interventions targeting coping mechanisms, stress, self-care, and religiosity be developed to improve the quality of life of DMT2 patients.

Abstract

Introduction: Chronic kidney disease is a global health problem that significantly affects the quality of life of hemodialysis patients. Social support and therapy adherence are key determinants, particularly with the use of digital applications such as HD-Care. Purpose: To analyze the determinants of social support and therapy adherence on the quality of life among hemodialysis patients using the HD-Care digital application. Methods: A quantitative observational analytic study was conducted on 83 hemodialysis patients at Permata Kuningan Hospital in 2025. Data were collected using MSPSS, ESRD-AQ, and WHOQOL-BREF. Multiple linear regression analysis was applied with a significance level of 0.05. Results: Social support (p=0.003) and therapy adherence (p=0.000) significantly influenced quality of life. Therapy adherence was the dominant factor (β=0.498). Both variables explained 37.4% of the variance in quality of life (R²=0.374). Conclusions: Social support and therapy adherence play an important role in improving quality of life. Digital-based nursing interventions may enhance patient outcomes.

Abstract

Adolescence is an important period for the formation of self-concept. This review aims to identify internal and external factors that influence adolescent self-concept and serve as a basis for nursing interventions to support healthy psychosocial development. This review was conducted using a scoping review approach based on the 2009 PRISMA protocol, with four databases, namely ProQuest, PubMed, and Google Scholar. The selected keywords were self-concept, self-image, identity, self, self-esteem, and adolescence. Full English-language articles indexed in at least Sinta and published between 2019 and 2025 were included in the inclusion criteria. Fifteen articles were reviewed. The review results show that internal factors such as physical changes related to puberty and childhood trauma affect adolescents' self-concept, as do external factors such as peer support, parenting style, national identity, and exposure to social media. Adolescents are highly vulnerable to psychological stress due to complex physical, mental, and social changes. Nurses, especially in schools and communities, can help adolescents develop a positive and adaptive self-concept by providing psychoeducation, psychosocial screening, counseling, and collaborating with teachers and parents.

Abstract

Introduction: Preoperative anxiety in mothers undergoing sectio caesarea is a common psychological condition that may negatively affect maternal readiness and surgical outcomes. Midwifery care requires effective non-pharmacological interventions to manage this condition. This study aimed to determine the effect of deep breathing relaxation on anxiety levels among preoperative sectio caesarea mothers. Method: A pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest approach was applied. A total of 40 respondents were selected using total sampling. Anxiety levels were measured using the Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale (APAIS). Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Result: The results showed that prior to the intervention, most respondents experienced panic-level anxiety (45%), while after the intervention, the majority reported mild anxiety (82.5%). Statistical analysis indicated a significant effect (p-value = 0.000; p<0.05). Conclusion: Deep breathing relaxation effectively reduces anxiety and can be integrated into holistic midwifery care to improve maternal psychological readiness before surgery.
