Abstract

Most civil engineering students and construction practitioners experience misconceptions about knowledge and even incorrect practical procedures for using measurement instruments. One of the misconceptions that is often encountered is the meaning of ordinary and extraordinary positions, the meaning of azimuth, the meaning of angles, directions, readings, and many more. Misconceptions in practice include the inaccurate process of centering, leveling, and targeting due to a misunderstanding of the pointing, targeting, and parallax processes. There are also often debates between students because of differences in interpretation of the influence of right or left rotation on horizontal readings or counting angles. On the other hand, the development of measurement and mapping surveys is increasingly rapid. However, measurement principles should not be ignored. These principles are the pillars of knowledge and the pillars of a surveyor's practice, with which fieldwork evaluations and decisions can be taken accurately and responsibly, both academically and practically. The measurement training activity using a water level tool is intended for Civil Engineering students at the Muhammadiyah University of Semarang (UNIMUS) and construction practitioners. This activity aims to improve understanding and skills so that participants can use the spirit level measuring instrument correctly. The method used is the delivery of theory, followed by practice in the field. The results obtained are an increase in participants' abilities in the measurement process and calculating measurement data based on the results of work and direct evaluation in the field.

Abstract

Stunting is malnutrition that occurs gradually and is prolonged. In general, according to Riskesdas (2018), the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is 30.8%, and in Demak 26.1%. Meanwhile in Rejosari Village. Based on data from local midwives, there are 15 stunted children in Karangawen, Demak. The purpose of dedication is as a preventive measure so that the incidence of stunting under five in Rejosari Village, Demak Regency does not increase. The implementation began with a health stand, and interactive discussions, and ended with a cooking demonstration for pregnant women. The activity began with an anthropometry stand, continued with education on the importance of the role of 1000 HPK, questions, and answers, and ended with a demonstration on making Moringa Chicken Tofu Balls. The results of the "Si Penting" program show that there are still pregnant women who have the potential to give birth to LBW children, as evidenced by a BMI before pregnancy of less than 18 kg/m2 and a LILA of less than 23.5 cm. Apart from that, food education and innovation activities ran smoothly, participants asked many questions and had lively discussions.

Abstract

The meeting hall building in Tlogosari Wetan Village consists of one floor extending throughout the land that is still surrounded by rice fields and is predominantly constructed with reinforced concrete materials. Based on information, the building has been standing for more than 20 years. Seeing this, the Community Service Team aims to investigate the condition of the structural system and materials of the Village Hall Building. To find out the condition of the structure and building materials, and can be a follow-up for partners to improve and utilize the building. The method used in this investigation is visual observation of structural conditions and non-destructive material testing. The results of the investigation show that a review of the compressive strength characteristics of the concrete in column elements still meets the requirements for earthquake-resistant concrete materials according to SNI 2847 2019.

Abstract

Various types of planting media besides soil have different abilities in carrying out their functions as planting media to support the process of plant growth and development. In the world of agriculture and plantations, we often hear the term polybag as a planting medium, especially in nurseries and planting in polybags to save agricultural land. The choice of polybags as planting containers for cultivation is influenced by several factors, such as low price, rust resistance, durability, lightweight, uniform shape, does not get dirty quickly, and ease to obtain at agricultural supply stores or plastic shops. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide knowledge to the people in Alasdowo Village, Pati Regency regarding how to plant decorative plants using polybag media. The implementation method used is by providing information through discussions and questions and answers as well as direct practice on how to make planting media using polybags. The results obtained from this activity are increasing public knowledge about how to plant decorative plants using polybag media. The community can also take advantage of and use polybag media to fill in the empty land they have by planting decorative plants.

Abstract

College graduates must have a strong entrepreneurial spirit to create job opportunities and reduce unemployment rates. Through entrepreneurship education implemented in almost all majors, students can change their mindset to be more innovative in seeking opportunities. However, in reality, there are still shortcomings in the basic business training provided. In line with the above description, engineering students have great potential in the entrepreneurial world due to the ongoing focus on technology and development. Still, their weakness is that engineering students do not fully understand business fundamentals. Therefore, appropriate training is needed to create a business plan framework. The service method used is lectures and question-and-answer sessions. This training has enabled students to understand entrepreneurship, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, participate in business competencies to hone creative ideas and be able to create job opportunities after graduation.

Abstract

This activity was conducted to increase public awareness and knowledge in managing household organic waste into eco-enzymes. Eco-enzyme is a natural liquid from the fermentation process of organic kitchen waste such as fruit and vegetable peels, granulated sugar (white sugar, brown sugar, or cane sugar), and water. The training activity was held at the home of the head of Gentan Hamlet, Doplang Village, Bawen Subdistrict, Semarang Regency on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, with the training participants being women members of Dasawisma (Dawis). The activity was carried out using socialization and demonstration methods to facilitate participants' understanding of the material and the process of making eco-enzymes. Based on the evaluation results, the participants were very enthusiastic about learning new knowledge they did not know before. Participants learned about the technology of making eco-enzymes from household waste. In addition to creating a clean environment, the resulting eco-enzyme also provides various benefits for life.

Abstract

The Mathematics Subject Teacher Meeting (MGMP) at KKMA 02 Jepara is routinely held at least 3 times in a semester, namely at the beginning before learning begins, in the middle, and at the end of the semester. The routine activities carried out are discussing textbooks and worksheets, setting up learning traps, and preparing for the preparation of Mid-Semester Examination questions and Final Semester Examination questions. However, in the last few semesters, the Mathematics MGMP is rarely held, even in this semester there is only 1 meeting and there is no more meeting agenda. This is due to several factors such as the level of saturation because the activities carried out are the same, never innovative activities that are in nature to improve the abilities and skills of teachers such as training, this encourages community service programs to be held with the theme "Utilization of Geogebra software in learning mathematics". This activity is a training for teachers who are members of the Mathematics MGMP regarding the importance of Geogebra software in learning mathematics. The method used is lectures and discussions from presenters from UNISNU Jepara and continued with simulations. The results of this activity are increased teacher knowledge and skills in designing learning media and implementing Geogebra software-based mathematics learning. It is hoped that by increasing teacher skills in developing innovative learning media, the learning atmosphere in the classroom will be enjoyable and student interest and motivation in learning will increase.

Abstract

After graduating, many vocational school students take part directly in the work. One of them is vocational school students majoring in construction who can immediately work in the world of construction or projects. In the implementation of construction, many work accidents occur which are caused by human factors, because of understanding of the dangers in construction projects. It was recorded by the Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) for Employment that from January to November 2022 there have been 265,334 work accidents in Indonesia. Therefore, students need to be given education about Occupational Health and Safety (K3). The aim is for the graduate to always apply K3 during construction so that graduates do not experience work accidents. Education was carried out through the presentation of material about K3 by the USM PKM team and continued with a question and answer session. Participants were very enthusiastic about participating in educational activities. It was shown from a lack of participants who asked questions to the PKM team. Apart from that, the results showed that 81% of the students thought that the PKM material was in line with community needs and that the overall PKM activities provided benefits.
