Abstract

Social life cannot be separated from communication, now the ways of communicating are increasingly diverse as technology develops. In fact, communication can be done online without having to meet each other. In communicating, often utter certain types of speech such as speech orders. In pragmatics, imperative speech is called imperative speech, meaning an utterance that is intended to order the interlocutor to do what the speaker wants. This speech certainly occurs in various kinds of communication, both directly and indirectly. A show on television, youtube, radio is also a communication. One of the talk show shows that contains imperative utterances is the Vindes talk show which is broadcast on YouTube by Vincent and Desta. This research succeeded in finding the types of imperative utterances found in the Vindes talk show uploaded September 2022. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques using observing techniques and note-taking techniques. Based on the results of the research, the researcher found 17 forms of imperative utterances in the Vindes talk show on the Vindes YouTube channel uploaded in September 2022.Keywords: speech; imperative; order; talk show

Abstract

Analysis of the uses of language style in the novel Bedebah di Ujung Tanduk by Tere Liye. The purpose of this research is to analyze the use of language styles in the novel Bedebah di Ujung Tanduk. The research that the researcher conducted used a stylistic study by analyzing the language style in the novel. The source of data or object in this study is a literary work in the form of a novel with title Bedebah di Ujung Tanduk. The reseacrher in conducting this study used reading and listening methods in order to obtain information or data related to the style of language in the novel Bedebah di Ujung Tanduk. In conducting this research, the researcher does not uses numbers, but uses the meaning, form, type, and function of the language style in the novel. From the research that the researched did, the researcher successed in finding the style of language used by the author in the novel Bedebah di Ujung Tanduk, which includescontradictory, comparative, linking, and repetition language styles. Contradictory language style consist of hyperbole and sarcasm; comparative language style consist of simile, personification, and metaphor; linking language style consist of metonimy and asyndeton; and the repetition language style consist of anafora and epizeukis.Keyword :novel, language style,Bebebah di Ujung Tanduk, Tere Liye

Abstract

In the novel Hati Suhita there are gender problems in the form of stereotypes, subordination, and marginalization. However, it does not have an impact on differentiating the roles and positions of women and men. Women can do everything men do. Women can be leaders, teach, be active in writing (journalism), and others. The values of character education in the novel Hati Suhita by Khilma Anis include istiqomah, tawadhu 'sincere, obedient wife, hard worker, trustworthy, patient and tenacious.The conclusion of this research is that Hati Suhita Novel is a novel that tells about a woman who strongly adheres to the Javanese philosophy of Mikul Duwur Mendem Jeru. In the novel Hati Suhita not only critically describes the personality of a woman, but also knowledge about the position of women in the structure of society, which is represented in society as weak beings, lacks intelligence, and tends to be passive. In the novel, women are not only presented as intelligent figures, but also as people who have strong personalities and have the courage to actualize themselves in society. However, this does not mean that in the novel Hati Suhita there are no gender problems. However, the gender problems that occur in the novel Hati Suhita are balanced by the strong attitude of a woman implied in the novel.Keywords: Role and Position of Women, Feminism and the Novel Hati Suhita by Khilma Anis.

Abstract

Indonesia has many different languages, ethnicities and cultures based on their respective characteristics in each region. The characteristics of each in each area are used as an identity among the many ethnic groups in Indonesia. It is this diversity that makes Indonesia adhere to the motto Bhineka Tunggal Ika. It is the existence of these guidelines that makes the many cultures in Indonesia become one culture which is called Indonesian Culture. Culture is a characteristic that exists in every region that already exists or has been passed down from previous generations and passed on to the next generation. This is what is contained in the forms and elements of culture in drama scripts which contain the author's way of expressing events or a problem through character dialogues. The research conducted this activity aims to describe and analyze the forms and elements of culture in Widiyono's drama Ujungan. This type of research is included in the descriptive qualitative approach to literary anthropology. The data in this study are in the form of whole sentences or excerpts from the dialogues of the cast of the drama script which explain the forms and elements of Banjarnegara culture in the drama script entitled Ujungan by Widiyono. In data collection techniques using reading techniques, note-taking techniques and interviews. Data analysis used two steps, namely how to read the drama script, noting parts of the form and elements of culture, and conducting interviews with art activists in the Banjarnegara area to support research on the truth and authenticity of Banjarnegara art in Widiyono's Ujungan drama script. The results of the study reveal that the form of culture is divided into three, namely as a complex of ideas, ideas, values, norms, regulations, and so on; as a complex pattern of activities and actions of humans in society; and as human-made objects. In addition, the elements of culture are divided into seven, namely the language system, knowledge system, community organization system, living equipment and technology system, livelihood system, religion system, and arts system.Keywords: drama script, dialogue, cultural form, cultural elements, literary anthropology

Abstract

This research has the purpose to describe the fulfilling the needs of the main character in the novel 7 Prajurit Bapak by Wulan Nuramalia which uses Abraham Maslow's humanistic personality theory. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with a literary psychology approach. The data in this study are in the form of words, sentences, phrases or paragraphs that have something to do with fulfilling the needs of Abraham Maslow's humanistic personality theory. The findings obtained in this study are that the main character can fulfill the needs in the form of physiological needs, belonging and love needs, self-esteem needs, and self-actualization needs. Abstract

Translation is very important for the development of science in all fields. This research take the object of translation in the subtitle of the film “SING”. The purpose of this research is to identify what translation strategies are contained in the subtitle of the film “SING”. What is the most dominant strategy and the accuracy of meaning and suitability for the duration of the film. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with purposive sampling technique. From research From this it can be seen that the translation strategy used in the film “SING” is a strategy addition, paraphrase, transfer, imitation, compression, decimation, deletion, and taming. In “SING” film, the most frequently used compression strategy. This is due to limitations the duration of space and time in the film so subtitles must save words. However, this is not reduce conformity with the meaning of the source language and still pay attention to the target culture. Abstract

This research applies qualitative research methods with a sociological literary approach supported by postcolonialism theory to analyze the novel "Laskar Pelangi" by Andrea Hirata. The novel portrays the impact of Dutch colonialism in Indonesia and highlights resistance against it. The research focuses on the representation of local culture in the novel, emphasizing the cultural richness and the characters' struggle to maintain their identity. The author, having personal experience in an area affected by colonialism, provides an authentic perspective on the effects of colonialism and the struggles of the community. Through the sociological literary approach, the research examines the social, cultural, and political dynamics in the context of colonialism. The research also highlights the use of language in the novel, which reflects linguistic diversity and the rejection of colonial language dominance. The findings of this research deepen our understanding of the impact of colonialism, resistance against it, and the role of local culture in preserving identity. This research contributes to the understanding of colonial oppression systems and the challenges faced by communities in preserving their cultural identity. By combining qualitative methods, sociological literary approach, and postcolonialism theory, this research offers a broader perspective on the complexity of colonial experiences and challenges existing colonial norms. In conclusion, this research encourages readers to question oppressive systems within their own environments and celebrate cultural diversity and resistance against colonial domination. Abstract

The main problem in the research in this study is about how the process of interpreting Heuristics and Hermeneutics and Social Criticism in the book collection of poems Love and Stories that are Difficult to Finish by Gita Romadhona. This study aims to determine the content of heuristic and hermeneutic meanings in the collection of poems Love and Stories that are Hard to Finish by Gita Romadhona. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research. Using Michael Riffaterre's Semiotic study which covers the heuristic reading process and the hermeneutic reading process. The data in this study are in the form of data obtained from the results of the Heruristic and Hermeneutic discussion of the five poems contained in the collection of poems Love and Difficult Stories by Gita Romadhona, namely, "Deus ex Machina", " Along street Margonda, The Lights Still On", "Captain", "On the Lake, This Afternoon", and "New Song of Untouchables". Then describe any social problems contained in the poem. Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the building blocks of the novel; (2) keris mysticism; and (3) Javanese cultural values contained in the novel Wigati by Khilma Anis. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The approach used is a literary anthropological approach. Sources of data obtained from documents. Data collection techniques with documentation. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out by interactive data analysis. The validity of the data using theoretical triangulation. Based on the results of data analysis obtained 3 conclusions. First, the building blocks of the novel are intrinsic and extrinsic elements. Intrinsic elements include; (a) major themes about the struggle of a woman's life, minor themes, among others, the problem of kris, Javanese culture problems, love problems; (b) characters and characterizations, the main characters are Wigati (quiet, steadfast, patient odd), and Manik (kind, cheerful, caring and considerate), additional characters are Hidayat Jati (kind, intelligent, outgoing and responsible), Kang Makhrus ( kind, considerate, authoritarian), Mrs. Nyai Zulfa (kind, gentle, compassionate), Abah (firm, kind), Grandma (kind, calm, authoritative and wise), Mrs. Kinanti (kind, caring and compassionate), Ali Murtadho (kind, considerate and wise, responsibility); (c) setting: setting includes place, time, atmosphere and social setting; (d) groove: mixed; (e) point of view: mixed; (f) the message in this novel is about the dangers and effects of unregistered marriage, which means that women must have self-respect regarding unregistered marriages. Extrinsic elements include; (a) the author's biography; (b) background of creation; (c) socio-cultural conditions; (d) cultural circumstances. Both the mysticism of the keris and Javanese culture, a review of literary anthropology, is about the keris that must be brought together and the myths and customs from the time of the ancestors. Abstract

The study aims to find out the figurative language styles found in wiji thukul's collection of poems When people go. The method used in this study is qualitatively descriptive because the data is in the form of data descriptions. The type of research used in this study is library research. The data source used in this study is a collection of poems When the People Go by Wiji Thukul, and reinforced with other sources, such as books, journals, thesis, thesis, and articles that support research problems. The data collection techniques used in this study by reading, marking, recording, grouping, and analyzing. Data analysis techniques used in this research by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and attracting conclusions or verification. The results of this study showed that in wiji Thukul's collection of poems When People Went found 160 language style data including 9 simile language style data, 55 metaphorical language style data, 20 personification language style data, 8 depersonified language style data, 15 irony language style data, 13 sarcasm language style data, and 40 repetition language style data.
