JBIOEDRA: Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi adalah jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Katolik Widya Mandira pada tahun 2023. Jurnal ini diterbitkan sebagai sarana publikasi hasil-hasil penelitian dan pengembangan dalam Bidang Pendidikan Biologi dan Biosain. Kesempatan menulis terbuka untuk umum, baik para peneliti dan akademisi di bidang-bidang terkait. JBIOEDRA: Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi ISSN 2985-8984. Sejak pertama kali diterbitkan. BIOEDRA: Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi dilakukan dua kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada bulan Mareti dan Oktober. Volume satu JBIOEDRA: Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi memuat hasil penelitian berbagai bidang dalam Biologi. Pada penerbitan perdana (Vol.1 No. 1 Maret Tahun 2023) telah dimuat artikel mengenai Pembelajaran biologi dan Biosain. Selanjutnya dalam terbitan kedua (Vol. 1 No. 2 Oktober 2023) artikel yang diterbitkan masih mengedepankan keterwakilan dua bidang tersebut. Hal ini dilakukan untuk membuka kesempatan yang sama bagi semua pendidik dan laboratorium untuk memanfaatkan jurnal ini sebagai media dalam mempublikasikan gagasan-gagasannya, baik dalam bentuk artikel hasil penelitian maupun artikel kepustakaan. Mulai terbitan ketiga sampai keempat, JBIOEDRA: Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi diperkenalkan dengan cara pengiriman secara bertahap yang dialamatkan kepada organisasi profesi, lemabaga swadaya masyarakat, serta perguruan tinggi swasta. Hal ini selain dimaksudkan agar JBIOEDRA dikenal lebih luas dan pada gilirannya mendapat respon pembaca lebih banyak, baik berbentuk partisipasi artikel ilmiah, saran pengembangan, hingga kemungkinan berlangganan JBIOEDRA setiap kali terbit.

Abstract

Mempelajari biologi berfungsi sebagai sarana untuk meningkatkan pemahaman, kemampuan, cara pandang, prinsip, dan akuntabilitas ekologi. Biologi adalah disiplin ilmu yang berupaya memahami alam. Mempelajari biologi memerlukan lebih dari sekadar memperoleh pengetahuan, konsep, atau prinsip faktual; ini juga merupakan upaya eksplorasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas pembelajaran yang berbasis masalah (PBL) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI biologi pada materi sistem pernapasan dan dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif model pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang meliputi 4 tahap yaitu Perencanaan, Pelaksanaan Tindakan, Observasi, dan Refleksi, yang bertujuan untuk melakukan perbaiki proses pembelajaran. PTK suatu kegiatan mengujicobakan suatu ide dalam praktik mampu memperbaiki dan meningkatkan kualitas proses belajar mengajar. penerapan model PBL dengan mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa khususnya mata pelajaran Biologi dengan materi sistem pernapasan ketuntasan hasil belajar peserta didik pada siswa kelas XI MIA2 SMA Negeri Noebana pada saat pra siklus nilai rata-ratanya adalah 40,0. Pada siklus I naik menjadi nilai rata-rata 82,1. Pada siklus II semakin meningkat hingga nilai rata-ratanya sebesar 93,7 Sedangkan ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa pada pra siklus sebesar 10,5%, sedangkan pada siklus I sebesar 78,9%, kemudian meningkat lagi pada siklus II yakni sebesar 89,5%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (PBL) telah memberikan peningkatan prestasi akademik siswa Biologi di SMA Negeri Noebana.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to 1) Find out the development of booklet learning media on digestive system material for class VIII humans of SMP Negeri Neonbat Junior High School. 2) Find out the feasibility of booklet learning media for class VIII human digestive system material at SMP Negeri Neonbat Junior High School. This research uses a type of research and development (R&D). Research and development is a process or steps to develop a new product or improve an existing product, which can be accounted for. The steps in this research include 2 stages, namely stage I, the preliminary study stage and stage II, the model development stage. The instrument used in the research was a questionnaire. The purpose of using a questionnaire is to determine the feasibility of the product being developed. The trial subjects in this research were 1 media expert validator and 1 material expert validator, tested on 3 science teachers and individual trials consisting of 5 students and small group trials consisting of 24 class VIII students at SMP Negeri Neonbat State Middle School. The booklet learning media that was developed was very suitable for use with a percentage from media experts of 79.68% in the (feasible) category, validation results by material experts obtained a percentage of 98.52% in the (very good) category, trial results for science teachers were 72,72% by category (eligible). Individual trial results obtained a percentage of 89.33% in the (very good) category. The results of the trial on the small group obtained a percentage of 91,04% in the (very good) category. Based on the results of the data obtained, it can be concluded that the resulting booklet learning media product meets the valid qualifications and is suitable for use as teaching material in supporting the teaching and learning process on the Digestive System in Humans class VIII SMP Negeri Neonbat.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to see an increase in students' understanding of concepts using the Discovery Learning model for Class XI MIA SMA Negeri 2 Fatuleu Barat. This research is classroom action research, which consists of four components in each cycle, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects in this research were 23 class XI MIA students at SMA Negeri 2 Fatuleu Barat. The data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis. The research results show that the Discoveri Learning model can increase students' conceptual understanding in measuring student learning outcomes, where in cycle I the presentation of learning completeness only reached 91% with high completeness criteria, while in cycle II it increased to 100% with very high completeness criteria. From the analysis data, it is concluded that understanding of concepts in Biology subjects using the Discovery Learning model is very high.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melalui penerapan model discovery learning diharapkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik kelas XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1Takari. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research), yang terdiri dari empat komponen dalam setiap siklusnya yaitu perencanaan (planning), tindakan (action), pengamatan (observasi), dan refleksi (refleck). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPA2 SMA Negeri 1 Takari yang berjumlah 20 orang. teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik, hal ini terlihat dari pengukuran hasil belajar peserta didik dimana pada siklus I presentasi ketuntasan belajar hanya mencapai 85% dengan kriteria ketuntasan tinggi sementara pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 95% dengan kriteria ketuntasan sangat tinggi. Dari data hasil analisis menyimpulkan bahwa model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran biologi

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan model problem based learning (PBL) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada pelajaran biologi kelas X 1 di SMA Negeri 7 Kupang sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran melalui pemberian tindakan kepada peserta didik. Penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan penulis yaitu sebanyak dua siklus (Siklus 1 dan Siklus 2) Prosedur penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu: 1) perencanaan, 2) pelaksanaan, 3) pengamatan 4) refleksi. .Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada siklus I dan siklus II rata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik pada siklus I yaitu 75,5 meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 86,78. Sehingga diperoleh ketuntasan klasikal hasil belajar pada siklus I 74 % dengan kriteria tuntas dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 93 % dengan kriteria tuntas. Dengan demikian model Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas X 1 SMA Negeri 7 Kupang.

Abstract

Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia L.) is a fruit vegetable plant with numerous health benefits and the ability to treat various diseases. This study aims to determine the effects of growing media and liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of bitter melon plants. The research was conducted on Jl. Basuki Rahmat, Kefamenanu Tengah Subdistrict, TTU Regency, from November to January 2021. The experimental method used was a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of growing media and liquid organic fertilizer. The growing media included three treatments: 2 kg cow manure: 1 kg soil (A1), 2 kg rice husk: 1 kg soil (B2), and 2 kg goat manure: 1 kg soil (C3). The liquid organic fertilizer was applied at a rate of 5 ml/L for all treatments and replications. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with the SPSS 22.0 application. The results showed that the growing media and liquid organic fertilizer significantly affected plant height, number of leaves, number of productive branches, number of fruits, fruit length, and fruit diameter.

Abstract

Longot Beach is one of the spiritual tourism destinations located in Lewoblolong Village, Ile Boleng District, East Flores Regency. To date, the number and types of gastropods in the intertidal zone of Longot Beach remain unknown. The purpose of this research is to determine the diversity and abundance of gastropod species at Longot Beach and to develop a biology learning medium in the form of a booklet. This research employs a research and development approach using the ADDIE model. The findings revealed 12 species of gastropods, namely Costoanachis sertulariarum, Cypraea pantherina, Conus miliaris, Conus lividus, Cypraea annulus, Nerita exuvia, Cellana nigrolineata, Cerithium zonatum, Cabestana cutacea, Canarium mutabile, Strombus alatus, and Nassarius mutabilis. The diversity index was calculated at 2.369803632, which falls into the moderate category. The highest species abundance index was 1.1 ind/m², while the lowest was 0.2 ind/m². The validation results of the booklet by media experts achieved a percentage of 80.08%, and by material experts, 89.28%, with an average of 84.68%, categorized as highly valid as a learning medium. The conclusion of this study is as follows: 12 species of gastropods were identified at Longot Beach with a diversity index in the moderate category, species abundance of 0.2 ind/m², and the developed booklet on gastropod diversity and abundance at Longot Beach in Lewoblolong Village is classified as valid for use as a learning medium.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of finding out students' participation and active discussion in biology learning in class VIII of Oenenu State Middle School. The population in this study were all class VIII students at Oenenu State Middle School for the 2022-2023 academic year and the research sample was 20 students consisting of one class, namely class VIIIA. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The data collection technique used in this research was filling out an observation sheet with 12 questions. Based on data from research conducted at Oenenu State Middle School, it shows that there is student participation and active discussion. On the indicator of student participation, respondents' answers had an average value of 73.33%, while on the indicator of student activity, respondents' answers had an average value of 75.62%. Based on the results obtained from the overall indicators of participation and activeness, class VIII students at Oenenu State Middle School received a good category. Abstract

This study aims to improve students' biology learning outcomes through the implementation of the cooperative learning model Group Investigation (GI). This research is a classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle included the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 24 students of class X1 at SMA Negeri Keberbakatan Olahraga Flobamorata Kupang. Data were collected using a learning outcome test and analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results showed a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes. In cycle I, the average student score was 60.77, with a mastery level of 25%. In cycle II, the average score increased to 71.12, with a mastery level reaching 100%. This improvement was attributed to the systematic implementation of GI steps, including intensive guidance, the selection of relevant topics, and the use of supportive learning media. The GI learning model was not only effective in enhancing learning outcomes but also fostered collaboration and critical thinking skills among students.

Abstract

The students' learning outcomes are still low due to the teaching model used by teachers being suboptimal and the lack of utilization of learning media. A teaching model that can address this issue is the Discovery Learning model. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model assisted by audiovisual media on the learning outcomes of Grade VII students on the topic of Interactions Between Living Organisms and Their Environment at SMPN 1 Nagawutung Lembata during the 2023/2024 academic year. This research employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Data analysis techniques include descriptive data analysis and inferential data analysis. The study results show that the average learning outcomes of students in the experimental class applying the Discovery Learning model assisted by audiovisual media were as follows: pretest average score of 50.15, posttest average score of 81.56, and N-Gain of 0.62, categorized as high. Meanwhile, the control class using the direct teaching model had a pretest average score of 45.15, posttest average score of 66.40, and N-Gain of 0.39, categorized as low. Based on the ANCOVA test results, the significance level was 0.043 < 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) is accepted. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning model assisted by audiovisual media affects the learning outcomes of Grade VII students on the topic of Interactions Between Living Organisms and Their Environment at SMPN 1 Nagawutung Lembata during the 2023/2024 academic year.
