Abstract

Mathematical communication skills encompass the oral and written abilities of students regarding the mathematical concepts they possess. The aim of basic mathematics education involves cognitive and social activities so that in communicative situations, students can enhance their learning interactions with others to obtain mathematical ideas. They should be capable of conveying their mathematical thoughts to others, developing mathematical concepts and strategies, and reflecting on their understanding of mathematics. Thinking styles are cognitive patterns that differentiate how students receive and process information and then use that information to solve problems, particularly in mathematical problem-solving. The objectives of this research are (1) to identify the types of research used in mathematical communication skills concerning thinking styles published in the last 5 years, (2) to identify research trends on mathematical communication skills and thinking styles in the last 5 years, and (3) to reveal the influence of students' thinking styles on mathematical communication skills, including the interpretation of mathematical problems, the selection of solution strategies, and mathematical problems solving abilities. The research method employed in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data collection involves reviewing articles related to students' mathematical communication skills concerning thinking styles published between 2018 and 2023. The findings indicate that (1) qualitative research is the most commonly used type of research, (2) research is predominantly conducted at the junior high school level, and (3) thinking styles significantly influence students' mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

The abilities that students need to master when learning mathematics include mathematical connection skills. The improvement of mathematical connection skills can be achieved through a learning model that requires students to participate in the problem-solving process, such as the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This research aims to analyze the results of PBL model research on mathematical connection skills and identify research trends related to mathematical connection skills in the PBL model from 2019 to 2023. The chosen method is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on all articles indexed in Google Scholar. Based on the research articles, mathematical connection skills can be enhanced through the PBL model. Furthermore, research related to mathematical connection skills in the PBL model was most frequently published in 2019 and conducted predominantly at the Junior High School (SMP) level.

Abstract

This research aims to examine several literatures related to the Problem Based Learning learning model on mathematical literacy abilities. The research method used in this research is the SLR method. Journal searches were carried out using the keywords PBL learning model and mathematical literacy skills published in the 2019-2023 period obtained with the help of the Publish or Perish application. The results of this research show that: 1) the problem-based learning model can improve students' mathematical literacy skills; 2) research related to the PBL learning model on students' mathematical literacy abilities in the 2019-2023 period tends to be mostly carried out in 2021, at junior high school level, and is a type of quantitative research.

Abstract

West Sumatra is one of the provinces in Indonesia that is prone to earthquakes due to the Great Sumatran Fault and the convergence of the Indo-Australian Plate and the Eurasian Plate beneath the sea to the west of the island of Sumatra. Padang is a city with earthquake potential due to the Semangko Fault, and one of the potential consequences is the occurrence of tsunamis. To minimize these impacts in Padang, tsunami evacuation buildings, known as shelters, have been established. Therefore, it is crucial for the community to be aware of the nearest routes to these evacuation shelters in Padang. One method employed is using Network Analyst. Network Analyst is a tool within the ArcGIS software, which is a Geographic Information System (GIS) developed by ESRI to manage, analyze, and visualize geographical data. By utilizing Network Analyst, the closest routes to the researched areas are generated. Network Analyst employs the Dijkstra's algorithm to solve routing problems and can be generated based on two criteria: distance and time. The result of the nearest route to the tsunami evacuation shelter in Batang Arau Subdistrict, South Padang District, is from SDN 29 Pebayan Penggalangan to Nurul Iman Mosque Padang, spanning a distance of 1585 meters. The analysis of the nearest route using Network Analyst is then compared with manually calculated results using the Dijkstra's algorithm. The difference between manual calculations and Network Analyst results ranges from 1 to 4 meters, approaching reality. This information can serve as a reference for determining the nearest routes to evacuation shelters in the event of a tsunami in Padang.

Abstract

The industrial revolution in the 21st century brought changes to the education system, especially in terms of learning media, where the media used must implement the results of innovation. For example, ethnomathematics is used to increase students' competence in finding solutions to mathematical problems. The aim of carrying out this research is to analyze the extent of students' abilities in solving mathematical problems after receiving based learning Problem Based Learning with ethnomathematics methods. Meanwhile, the research implementation method implements SLR (Systematic Literature Review) by reviewing several articles that have similar topics in the form of developing student competence in solving mathematical problems based on ethnomathematics in the Problem Based Learning learning modeland published between 2019 and 2023. The number of national and international articles used as literature studies was 13 articles. This article was obtained by researchers from the Google Scholar publish or perish database. Based on the analysis carried out, the results showed that the effectiveness of the ethnomathematics-based Problem Based Learning learning model was found in optimizing student competence in terms of solving mathematical problems.

Abstract

Basic mathematical abilities are having the basic ability (being able) to think deductively in building theories and communicating the results of scientific activities correctly and being able to communicate accurate, precise, artificial language in mathematics. Basic mathematical abilities also include the basic skills needed to understand and solve mathematical problems at a basic level. This research was conducted with the aim of describing the profile of students' basic mathematical abilities in solving basic problems. Elementary schools have a key role in building the foundations of mathematics education for students. Basic mathematics is taught at this level to help students understand basic mathematical concepts necessary in everyday life and to prepare them for further mathematics learning at higher levels. It is important to ensure that the mathematics foundation built at the primary school level is strong, as this will influence students' understanding and success at higher levels of education. Junior high school is the second level of school after elementary school, and at this stage students are taught about basic mathematics or easy mathematics that usually occurs in everyday life. Such as calculations which develop students' basic calculation skills, understanding number concepts such as fractions, decimal numbers and whole numbers, addition, multiplication and division. Using mathematics in real contexts, so that students can see the relevance and usefulness of mathematics in everyday life.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu agar dapat menganalisis permasalahan belajar matematika pada materi bilangan dan pengukuran di kelas II Sekolah Dasar. Subjek dari penelitian ini merupakan guru kelas II di SDN yang terletak di Jakarta Selatan. Pada pelaksanaan penelitian ini mengggunakan sebuah metode penelitian yang berupa deskriptif kualitatif melalui penggunaan teknik dengan wujud wawancara beserta observasi. Yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini, terkait analisis kesulitan belajar matematika pada materi bilangan dan pengukuran siswa kelas II di Sekolah Dasar yang telah peneliti lakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa (a) Siswa menganggap matematika sebagai mata pelajaran yang sulit; (b) Kurangnya pemahaman konsep matematika oleh siswa; (c) Kurangnya penggunaan media pembelajaran. Dan upaya yang peneliti temukan dalam menghadapi kesulitan belajar matematika pada materi bilangan dan pengukuran siswa kelas II, yaitu (a) Menggunakan metode, media, serta strategi pembelajaran yang menyenangkan seperti permainan matematika dan cerita matematika yang menarik sehingga dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika dengan baik; (b) Menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual; (c) Menggunakan peningkatan minat belajar matematika melalui pendekatan matematika realistik (PMR).

Abstract

Subjek penelitian ini merupakan guru kelas III di SDN yang terletak di Jakarta. Pada pelaksanaan penelitian ini digunakan sebuah metode penelitian yang berupa deskriptif kualitatif melalui penggunaan teknik denga wujud wawancara beserta observasi. Melalui yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini bahwa Metode pembelajaran yang efektif pada matematika terutama di materi bilangan dan pengukuran itu memiliki peranan penting pada proses aktifitas pembelajaran supaya pembelajaran dapat berjalan sesuai yang diharapkan.

Abstract

Pembelajaran berbasis masalah dirancang agar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dengan memberi mereka lebih banyak kesempatan untuk mengeksplorasi masalah dengan berbagai solusi. Karena sejatinya berpikir kreatif sangatlah diperlukan sebagai dasar dalam menanggapi masalah yang dihadapi guna mencari solusi yang tepat. Berdasarkan penerapan model belajar Problem Based Learning berbantu google classroom di MTs Pembangunan UIN Jakarta pada materi bangun ruang, didapatkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis 22 siswa MTs Pembangunan UIN Jakarta setelah proses pembelajaran dengan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) didapatkan presentase sebesar 40,91% yaitu sekitar 9 siswa pada kategori kreatif, hal ini menunjukkan hampir separuh objek penelitian berada pada kategori kreatif, sedangkan untuk tingkat kemampuan berpikir kreatif pada kategori cukup kreatif mencapai 50% yaitu sekitar 11 orang siswa, sedangkan 9,09% yaitu sekitar 2 siswa berada pada kategori kurang kreatif. Untuk kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis jika dilihat dari masing-masing aspek dapat dikatakan sudah terbilang cukup bagus dimana di peroleh prosentase pada aspek kelancaran ini mencapai 60,23%, aspek keluwesan/fleksibilitas sebesar 64,77%, aspek orisinalitas sebesar 69,32%, dan pada aspek elaborasi sebesar 57,95%.

Abstract

Latar belakang dari penelitian dan pengembangan yaitu bahan ajar E-LKPD yang dimanfaatkan untuk membantu kegiatan pembelajaran mtematika di MTs Manba’ul Ulum Gebog agar menarik minat siswa agar semangat belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan media pembelajaran Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik Elektronik (E-LKPD) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi Aljabar kelas VII Madrasah Tsanawiah. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4D yaitu tahap pendefinisian (Define), Perancangan (Design), Pengembangan (Development), dan Penyebaran (Desseminate), dengan siswa kelas VII MTs Manba’ul Ulum sebagai subjek penelitian. Kelayakan produk pengembangan E-LKPD ini dinilai oleh para ahli dan tanggapan siswa. Hasil dari uji penilaian media dari para ahli mendapatkan kategori “Sangat Layak” dan “Layak” dengan nilai 85 dan 78. Hasil uji tanggapan siswa terhadap E-LKPD dari skala besar dan kecil mendapatkan kategori “Sangat Layak” dan “Layak” dengan memperoleh nilai 91,4 dan 73,3. Dari data penilaian ahli dan tanggapan siswa, maka bahwa E-LKPD berbasis problem based learning yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid, efektif, dan praktis untuk digunakan, dan membantu menambah kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik.
