Abstract

This article critically examines an effort to conceptualize a relationship aimed at testing the effectiveness of curriculum supervision on teacher performance in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in vocational high schools (SMK). This study integrates various theoretical perspectives from recent literature. The method used is a qualitative approach with case studies in several vocational high schools that have implemented the Merdeka Curriculum. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with principals, supervisors, and teachers who were directly involved in the curriculum implementation process. The findings show that effective curriculum supervision, which involves regular guidance and constructive feedback, has a positive impact on improving teachers' understanding of curriculum materials and their skills in managing competency-based learning. On the other hand, the lack of coordination between supervisors and teachers, as well as limited supervision time, become obstacles to optimizing implementation. In conclusion, planned and continuous curriculum supervision can improve teacher performance in the application of the Merdeka Curriculum. However, stronger support from school management and supervisors is needed to strengthen the effectiveness of curriculum implementation in vocational high schools. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for the development of future educational management models.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze curriculum management and its relevance to workforce demands through a case study conducted at SMK Al-Barokah. A qualitative approach using a case study design was employed to obtain a deeper understanding of curriculum management practices within the context of vocational education. Research participants were selected through purposive and snowball sampling techniques, involving the school principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, vocational teachers, heads of vocational programs, students, and Business and Industrial Sector (Dunia Usaha dan Dunia Industri/DUDI) partners. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Subsequently, all data were analyzed using the interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing processes. The findings indicate that curriculum management at SMK Al-Barokah is implemented through stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, and curriculum adjustment directed toward workforce needs. The study identified three major factors influencing curriculum relevance, namely school–industry partnerships, teachers’ abilities to adapt instructional practices, and curriculum development flexibility. The school has integrated Industrial Work Practice (Praktik Kerja Lapangan/PKL), project-based learning, and work-oriented skill enhancement into instructional activities. However, industrial involvement in curriculum development remains largely consultative and has not yet fully contributed to strategic decision-making processes. Simultaneously, the rapid pace of industrial transformation frequently causes delays in curriculum adjustment processes. From a theoretical perspective, this study strengthens the social constructivist perspective by conceptualizing curriculum as a social practice that evolves through interactions among educational stakeholders. From a practical standpoint, the findings highlight the importance of strengthening school industry collaboration, enhancing teachers’ competencies, and developing more adaptive curriculum systems to improve the relevance of vocational education to workforce demands.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' activeness and critical thinking skills through the application of a collaborative presentation model based on the Independent Curriculum in Pancasila Education. The study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, implemented in two cycles, with planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 32 ninth-grade junior high school students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and assessment of student presentations. The results showed that the implementation of the collaborative presentation model increased student active participation in the learning process. In the first cycle, student engagement reached 68%, increasing to 87% in the second cycle. Students' critical thinking skills also improved, as evidenced by their ability to express opinions, ask questions, and provide feedback during the presentation process. Therefore, the collaborative presentation model based on the Independent Curriculum can be an effective alternative learning strategy for improving the quality of Pancasila Education learning in junior high schools.

Abstract

The evolution of the Merdeka Curriculum within primary education has emerged as a pivotal topic in the effort to cultivate a more adaptable, contextualized, and student-centric educational environment. This inquiry intends to examine the progression of the Merdeka Curriculum at SDN 02 Tanjungjaya Banjarwangi Garut, focusing specifically on curriculum design, pedagogical execution, evaluation methods, the integration of the Pancasila Student Profile, and the institutional obstacles encountered throughout its adoption. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative design, data gathered for this study were compiled via semi-structured interviews, direct observations, and archival reviews involving the school headmaster, teaching staff, and official institutional documents. The outcomes demonstrate that curriculum advancement at SDN 02 Tanjungjaya was realized by modifying the school’s operational curriculum, constructing lesson plans aligned with targeted learning outcomes, introducing versatile instructional methods, and organizing project-based activities for the Pancasila Student Profile tailored to the local environment. Nonetheless, several bottlenecks persist, such as disparate teacher comprehension, inadequate educational resources, unreadiness for formative assessments, and a deficiency in sustainable mentoring. This paper deduces that optimizing the Merdeka Curriculum in primary schools necessitates responsive institutional leadership, robust peer collaboration among educators, active parental engagement, and continuous professional development for teachers to ensure the curriculum positively reshapes educational quality.

Abstract

The transition of the global education system in the post-COVID-19 era has prompted a paradigmatic shift from content-heavy curricula towards streamlined frameworks orientated around essential learning material. However, the efficiency of this streamlined model remains a subject of debate, caught between the demands for depth of competence and the adaptational burden placed upon educators in the field. This research seeks to re-examine the essence of efficiency in implementing streamlined curricula to optimise students' deep learning while simultaneously analysing its impact on teachers' workload and psychological well-being. Diverging from previous empirical designs, this study employs a qualitative methodology with a comprehensive Literature Review approach. The analysis synthesises various policy documents, international education reports, and reputable scientific literature published over the last decade (2016–2026). The desk research findings reveal the transformative dynamics of an essential curriculum in restoring the dignity of student learning and addressing learning loss without triggering educator burnout, provided it is supported by digital ecosystems and learning communities. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of adaptive technology variables and teacher agency as indicators of curricular efficiency dimensions frequently overlooked in conventional evaluative studies. These findings contribute to the formulation of an 'Agile Curriculum' model resilient to future disruptions. Practically, this study provides strategic recommendations for policymakers to harmonise teacher autonomy, administrative simplification, and the integrity of student understanding within the 'Kurikulum Merdeka' (Independent Curriculum) ecosystem, which has been fully implemented nationwide by 2026.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping educational systems globally, raising pressing questions about implementation readiness, governance, and professional capacity. In line with the implementation of the Digital Education Policy by the Ministry of Education Malaysia, there is an increasing need to understand AI implementation readiness and the challenges associated with AI integration in schools. This study aims to map and synthesise existing literature on AI implementation readiness and related issues in Malaysian national schools between 2020 and 2025. A scoping review methodology guided by the PRISMA-ScR framework was employed. Literature was sourced from MyJurnal, Google Scholar, and ERIC databases. Thematic analysis identified three dominant themes: high levels of teacher interest accompanied by moderate technical competence, significant infrastructural disparities between urban and rural schools, and the absence of clear ethical guidelines governing AI use in classrooms. The findings indicate that while Malaysian teachers demonstrate positive attitudes towards the potential of AI to enhance learning, systematic support in terms of professional development, infrastructure, and policy remains insufficient.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the Green Financing, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and Cost Efficiency impact on Profitability, with Good Corporate Governance (GCG) as the moderator. This uses a Linear Regression and Moderated Regression Analysis. The population is the manufacturing companies listed on the IDX for the 2020-2024. Partial testing shows that CSR and cost efficiency affect profitability, while green financing does not have a significant influence. Simultaneous testing indicates that all variables significantly influence profitability. However, the test of variable moderation shows that GCG does not moderate the impact of green financing on profitability, but moderates the impact of CSR and cost efficiency on profitability significantly. This implies that strengthening CSR and achieving operational efficiency are key to driving increased company profitability, as reinforced by GCG.
