Abstract

Diarrhea According to epidemiological theory is influenced by 3 factors, namely host, Agent and environment. The host is a landlady or as it is occupied for instance age, nutritional status. Diarrhoea disease in infants whose nutritional status is bad is more difficult to heal because of the damaged intestinal mucosa in the process of a longer revitalization. From the Government Health Service data of Jember District, in May 2008 the number of Diarrhea suffered reaches 4,601. In January 2008, the number of diarrhea sufferers reached 5,202 people, February 5,361, March 4,754, and April 4,755 sufferers. Of these, people less than 5 years old reach 70 percent. The purpose of this research to Analyzed attitude of mother in the treatment of diarrhea in an infant in the health centre of Arjasa District Regency of Jember. The research method used cross-sectional study. The population of this study was toddlers with diarrhea of 58 children. Non-probability sampling technique with consecutive sampling types (which meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria).The information regarding maternal attitude was obtained by questionnaire. Statistic test used descriptive analysis. Analysis results indicate that mothers with positive attitude find 26-35 years old, the last education of Junior and Senior High School, a job as a housewife. Based on 35 samples, it shows that mothers with a positive attitude are 27 and mothers with negative attitude is 8. The results of this study are maternal have a positive attitude to give ORS on handling diarrhea in an Infant.

Abstract

Cases of medical errors in health care services are serious problems. In Indonesia, the incidence of work accidents still often afflicts nurses in hospitals. The prevalence of patient safety is still high. The research aimed to analyze the factors that affected nurse performance in the application of the patient safety system at the hospital. The sampling technique employed a total sampling of 40 people. Data analysis functioned the Partial Least Square. The results shew: a) The knowledge influenced on the nurse performance and the work-life quality, b) The attitude of nurses affected the quality of work-life, but did not affect performance. The knowledge was the most robust variable affected performance. Conclusion: to improve nurse performance, a hospital should enhance the knowledge, attitudes, and nurse quality work of life.

Abstract

Since the declaration of patient safety culture in the hospital X in 2015, there were 171 cases of patient safety incident until December 2018, with Near Injury Incidence (KNC) dominated at 56%. Of all the patient safety incidents, about 60% occurred in the treatment facility. Poor coordination among nurses has led to the absence of the same perception on the filling of incident reporting formats, the choice of incidents that had not been so precise, and a feeling of fear of being blamed when reporting an incident. The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of leadership styles, teamwork, and knowledge of the safety culture of patients at X Hospital, Bekasi. The study aims to analyse the influence of leadership style, teamwork, and knowledge on patient safety culture at X Hospital, Bekasi. This research method uses the analytical causality approach, conducted by a survey method and its correlation technique with the time dimension of one short study. The sample in this study were nurses in the inpatient installation. Sampling size determined using the Purposive Sampling technique resulting in 98 samples. Data analysis uses multiple regression test. The result showed that leadership style, teamwork, and knowledge influence either partially or simultaneously to patient safety culture at X Bekasi Hospital. The dominant of independent variables is teamwork. Finding: In-hospital services, the role of teamwork is significant in creating the patient safety culture. Implications: Hospital management must involve the active role of each team member in improving patient safety culture.

Abstract

Inpatient drug service in the pharmaceutical installation in Hospital X has not met the (MSS) Minimal Service Standard. There is delay in delivering the drug by 3%, while according to the standard, it should be 0%. Objective Case study was conducted by the researcher aiming to know the factors affecting the length of time of inpatient drug service in the pharmaceutical installation and its solution alternative. Method: The research was carried out qualitatively, in which the data was collected through unstructured interview, FGD (Focus Group Discussion) and observation. The participants involved in the research was 30 people. Result are The research data was analyzed using “5 why” by grouping the 5M factors obtained consisting of man, method, machine, material and management into 3 main factors as the causes of the long waiting time. The main factors causing the long waiting time were the absence of time target for each service flow established by the management, incomplete SOP (Standard Operational Procedure), the absence of service flow in accordance with the implementation in the field as well as ineffective and inefficient inpatient pharmaceutical installation layout. Furthermore, in order to obtain the solution, NGT (Nominal Group Technique) was employed to do the assessment obtaining 3 solutions including completing the SOP and designing the inpatient drug service flow in pharmaceutical installation, establishing the target time for each service flow by the management, and designing more effective and efficient layout for the pharmaceutical installation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze changes in organizational culture in hospitals in the face of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the New Normal. Using qualitative methods with a case study approach and data collection techniques through interviews and document review. Research informants as many as 4 people, the Chairman of the Foundation as a representative of the owner and representatives of top management as key informants, for triangulation informants represented by the Head of the Internal Control Unit and representatives of Middle Management and a document review was carried out. Data analysis used the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI) method. The results show that the dominant organizational culture before the Covid-19 pandemic was Clan and during the pandemic it became Hierarchy and Adhocracy became the expected culture. This finding indicates that before the pandemic the organization became a fun place like family and during the pandemic it became structured, controlled and there were procedures for each activity. The expected culture is that the organization becomes a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and innovative place. To integrate adhocracy culture into the organization, there are several things that must be done: 1). Anticipating needs, 2) Continuous improvement; 3) Finding creative solutions; 4) Creating new standards; 5) Encouraging innovation 5) Creating new opportunities/customers; 6) Dare to take risks.

Abstract

Hospitals as health services should prevent the risk of infection for patients and hospital staff. One indicator of success in hospital services is the low number of nosocomial infections or Healthcare-Associated Infection. Efforts to reduce the incidence of nosocomial infections are by carrying out good Central Sterile Supply Department services. This study aims to describe the process of sterilization transition in Mitra Delima Hospital Malang from a decentralized system to a centralized system. This study uses a qualitative approach that is focused on the Sterilization Unit of General hospital of Mitra Delima Malang. The study was conducted in August-October 2019. This research was conducted using interviews, observations, document studies, and literature studies. Sterilization activities at Mitra Delima Malang General Hospital which is still decentralized, starting from the decontamination process to labelling in other units, it is necessary to have a plan to develop a Central Sterilization Installation that is in line with the needs of Mitra Delima Malang General Hospital and accordance with the regulations, guidelines, and standards of Installation Central Sterilization to achieve the ideal Central Sterilization Installation. Sterilization in hospitals should use a centralized system. With a centralized and independent sterilization system with other departments, hospitals can be efficient, economical, safe, and valid in implementing sterilization equipment. This also ensures that the sterilization process will be overseen by specialized staff and runs according to the standard operating procedures.

Abstract

One of the excellent services in Bangil Regional Hospital is the hemodialysis unit service, from 2017 to August 2019, the number of patients not served by hemodialysis is still high. This study aims to determine the factors causing the high number of patients who are not served by hemodialysis. Type of descriptive qualitative research. Primary data were obtained from interviews with a sample of six people consisting of the head of the hemodialysis unit, the head of the service sector, the head of the outpatient service section, the head of the inpatient services section, the head of the education and training section and the head of the personnel subdivision. Secondary data obtained from the study of documents, observations, and literature. Data was taken from August to October 2019, and fishbone analysis was conducted. The results of the study found eight causative factors, namely there is no policy (policy) for the development of hemodialysis units, no dialysis expert general practitioners, lack of skilled dialysis nurses, no 24-hour service policy and cito hemodialysis, limited space capacity and hemodialysis machines, budget Hemodialysis training and development has not been prioritized, and hemodialysis training is waiting a long time.

Abstract

As the front-liner in handling the spread of COVID-19, healthcare workers are a susceptible group toward the exposure of SARS-CoV-2. This study aims to examine the compliance of PPE use by health workers, FFRs reuse, the participation of healthcare workers in infection and prevention training, and the relationship between mentioned variables and COVID-19 infection among healthcare workers. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach through a retrospective cohort design. Respondents in this study were the healthcare workers throughout Indonesia who worked actively during the pandemic in healthcare facilities. This study found that the level of compliance of PPE use among healthcare workers was high. The groups who reuse masks are mostly doctors and nurses and the most widely used method of disinfection is UVC radiation. Some of the respondents were recorded for being attended the infection and prevention training. However, there is no correlation between adherence to wearing PPE, reuse of masks, and infection prevention training with COVID-19 infection in health workers in Indonesia (r=0.02; p=0.5).

Abstract

Turnover Intention is recognized as the best predictor of actual displacement. As a result of high turnover in nursing can lead to high financial costs, disrupt functional team formation, increase the workload of other nurses, and can reduce the quality of nursing services for patients and have an impact on overall hospital quality. This study aims to provide empirical evidence of the formation of intention to move to nurses who are influenced by job satisfaction, work-family conflict, and appreciation. The research design is quantitative with a type of explanatory causality research using primary data in the form of a questionnaire distributed to 174 people. The sampling technique in this study was carried out with the saturation sampling method. This research uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis. The unit of analysis includes individual nurses with cross sectional time horizons. The results obtained are work-family conflict, appreciation, job satisfaction simultaneously affect the intention to move nurses at the "X" hospital. Work-family conflict has a negative effect on job satisfaction. Giving awards has a positive effect on job satisfaction. Job satisfaction gives effect to the formation of the intention to move. Work-family conflict has a positive effect on the formation of the intention to move. The awarding has a negative effect on the formation of nurses' intentions. The research findings show the “hallo effect” causes the actualization obtained by nurses has not been able to increase job satisfaction, resulting in stronger intention to move.

Abstract

Work engagement is major concern for human resource management at XYZ Hospital Tangerang in order to improve performance of nursing profession. This study aims to study the effect of perceived organizational support and organizational justice on work engagement with intermediary factors of organizational trust. Quantitative associative research was conducted on 96 nurses in the hospital. XYZ Tangerang in March 2021, with primary data obtained by survey. The research instruments used are Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES), The Survey of Perceived Organizational Support (SPOS), Measures of Trust, Trustworthines, and Performance Appraisal Perceptions, and Organizational Justice Survey. The data analysis method used is Path Analysis. The results of this study found that there was a significant positive effect of perceived organizational support on work engagement through organizational trust as an intermediary factor and a significant positive effect of organizational justice on work engagement through organizational trust as an intermediary factor, as well as a positive influence of organizational trust on work engagement. It was also found that the positive effect of perceived organizational support and organizational justice on organizational trust was found. Thus increasing organizational trust, perceived organizational support, and organizational justice will increase nursing work engagement.
