Abstract

The economic situation where prices have increased significantly is not only experienced by the Indonesian state but also the world, this is also in line with the increasing needs of the community in terms of clothing and food. Income that does not go hand in hand with rising prices makes it difficult for workers to meet their clothing and food needs. Therefore, a request was made to the government to be able to increase the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) so that it could meet the clothing and food needs of the workers. Therefore, this article is written to look at the struggles of the KSPI workers' group in demanding an increase in the UMP in 2022. The method used is a descriptive-qualitative method through in-depth interviews with informants met at research locations and literature studies. From the research we conducted, it is known that KSPI's struggle to demand an increase in the UMP in 2022 by using the strategic concept they have has not produced the desired results and KSPI continues to carry out their struggle by entering Indonesian politics in 2024 by bringing up the issue of increasing the UMP

Abstract

In essence, fundamentalism can appear in any religion and in any country, including Islam in Indonesia. The emergence of the Islamic Fundamentalist movement in Indonesia is an event that is certain to occur, considering that Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim population in the world. Religious movements that are fundamental and revivalist in nature have become an event that colors the world of politics, social, culture, and the image of contemporary Islam in Indonesia. The emergence of movements from Islamic fundamentalism groups in Indonesia occurred massively after the end of the New Order regime or the reform era. The democratization that has taken place in Indonesia has made it possible for various communities to gather or associate, such as the movement of Islamic fundamentalist groups in Indonesia. The secularization and affiliation of western hegemony in the New Order regime has become a strong assumption for the birth of this group in the reform era. Movements from Islamic Fundamentalism groups in Indonesia during the reform era such as for example, Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), and the Indonesian Mujahidin Council. Therefore, this paper will comprehensively discuss the rationale and characteristics of the Islamic fundamentalist movement, as well as analyze the emergence of Islamic fundamentalist groups in Indonesia during the reform era in order to determine how far the fundamentalist movement has contributed to the harmonization of religious life in Indonesia.

Abstract

This journal reviews the Movement of the Congressional Alliance of Indonesian Trade Unions (KASBI) in demanding an increase in the DKI Jakarta UMP in 2022. The Government together with the House of Representatives are authorized to increase subsidized fuel prices, this of course invites a lot of criticism and resistance from the community, especially labor groups . For this reason, a labor movement (KASBI) was born which was held accountable for their dissatisfaction with the wages they received and policies that continued to harm their lives. According to KASBI, an increase in fuel prices will have a domino effect on all basic needs and economic growth. So that KASBI demanded an increase in UMP in response to the increase in fuel prices. Apart from that, KASBI also demanded that BBM be canceled, prices of basic commodities reduced, and the Omnibus Law repealed. However, the demands made by KASBI are certainly contrary to the interests of the entrepreneurs. The research method used in this journal is descriptive qualitative, because data collection is done by interviewing and using references to previous reading sources. The aim of the study was to find out about KASBI's movement in demanding an increase in the DKI Jakarta UMP in 2022. The results of this study indicate that the efforts and strategies undertaken by KASBI in demanding an increase in the UMP to be followed up, have not been fully realized. The government together with the House of Representatives are only of the opinion that there will be no further action regarding the demands in the mass action by KASBI.

The factors that led to land conversion from plantation land to residential areas, include internal and external factors. The main factor causing this land conversion is due to the economic demands of the Tua Tunu community as landowners, so they sell their plantation-owned land to pay for their children's education, to meet their daily needs, in addition to that, the land they sell is for financial needs. life is like leaving for Umrah or Hajj. Many other supporting factors are also related to the conversion of this land function due to the increasing population growth factor. Land is also strategic for being used as a residential area because the geographical location of the area in this residential area is very easy to reach or access, and this area is also very fast in determining its development.

Abstract

The issue of legality is on the JRMK agenda as a fulfillment of the political campaign promise of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan in the 2017 Pilkada. Anies Baswedan promised to give legal rights to land in disputed areas. However, this promise has not been fulfilled until the end of the Anies period. The purpose of this study is to find out the main focus and issues in the advocacy of the JRMK movement in the case of land legality in Kampung Susun Akuarium, in addition, to find out the Mobilizing Structures of the JRMK Jakarta advocacy movement and how JRMK manages the resources of the movement. This study uses a qualitative method by conducting interviews and in-depth observations. The results of this study see that the main focus of JRMK in advocating is to demand that the ownership status of the flats can be owned. JRMK's effort to oversee the issue of land legality in the Kampung Susun Akuarium is to take advantage of the political contract between JRMK and Anies Baswedan. The actions taken by JRMK in raising the legality of land proved that JRMK's social activities took the opportunity to change policies. Management and organization of owned resources is an important indicator to determine the success of the Kampung Akuarium community movement. Through the process of widening relations and the number of masses, the movement does not only need to increase resources, but increase the capacity and strength of the movement to the city structure.

Abstract

Human trafficking remains a serious transnational crime and a persistent threat in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of immigration policy in preventing human trafficking by examining its implementation and the challenges encountered. This research employs a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review, drawing on regulations, government reports, IOM data, and national as well as international journal articles. The analysis applies Van Meter and Van Horn’s policy implementation model and Soerjono Soekanto’s legal effectiveness theory. The findings indicate that Indonesia’s immigration policy provides a strong normative framework through Law No. 6 of 2011 and Law No. 21 of 2007, but its effectiveness remains partial due to limited human and technological resources, weak inter-agency coordination, and low legal awareness among communities. This study recommends strengthening the capacity of immigration institutions, integrating cross-sector data, adopting risk-profiling-based early detection technology, and implementing continuous migration literacy and community economic empowerment programs. The study concludes that the success of preventing human trafficking relies on synergy between clear regulations, professional enforcement, and legally aware communities.

Abstract

The Palestine–Israel conflict escalated again in October 2023 when Hamas launched an attack on Israel, triggering a massive military response. This situation resulted in thousands of casualties, predominantly among Palestinians, and sparked a wave of global solidarity through social media, particularly Twitter. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Twitter in facilitating digital social movements related to the 2023 Palestine–Israel conflict, focusing on the use of hashtags #FreePalestine, #CeasefireNow, and #BoycottIsraeliProducts. Employing a qualitative case study and document analysis, the research examines Twitter’s role in raising public awareness, mobilizing transnational solidarity, and encouraging concrete actions beyond the digital sphere. The findings reveal that Twitter plays a crucial role not only as a channel of communication but also as a strategic space that connects online activism with offline actions, such as demonstrations, boycott campaigns, and fundraising. An analysis using Media Dependency Theory and the concept of Hashtag Activism underscores that social media can strengthen collective empathy, shape global public opinion, and serve as an effective instrument in the struggle for humanitarian justice.

Abstract

This study analyzes the empowerment strategies for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) implemented by the Office of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (OCSME) of Bangka Belitung Province as part of the National Economic Recovery program in the post-COVID-19 period. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and documentation, this research examines the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation of empowerment programs while identifying supporting and inhibiting factors. The findings reveal that OCSME’s empowerment strategies have had positive impacts in terms of enhancing MSME capacity and improving the regional economy, although challenges remain in program sustainability, low human resource quality, and limited access to financing. Analysis using Jim Ife’s empowerment framework demonstrates that OCSME’s strategies encompass structural dimensions through the formulation of strategic plans (Renstra), economic dimensions through the provision of business legality and market access, and community capacity building through the Integrated Business Service Center (PLUT). This study highlights the importance of cross-sectoral synergy and institutional capacity strengthening in creating a competitive, inclusive, and sustainable MSME ecosystem.
