Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis makna kehilangan dalam lirik lagu 'Satu Bulan' karya Bernadya dan resepsi audiens Generasi Z terhadapnya. Musik, sebagai media interaktif, berperan dalam pembentukan identitas dan ekspresi isu sosial. Lagu 'Satu Bulan' relevan karena mengangkat tema kehilangan, kerinduan, dan keterpisahan emosional, yang banyak digunakan Generasi Z dalam unggahan media sosial. Generasi Z (lahir 1997-2012) selektif, ekspresif, dan responsif terhadap konten personal. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan analisis resepsi Stuart Hall, berfokus pada tiga posisi decoding: dominan-hegemonik, negosiasi, dan oposisi. Hasil menunjukkan mayoritas Generasi Z menginterpretasikan lagu sebagai refleksi mendalam atas kehilangan personal (orang tua, anak, kekasih). Resepsi negosiasi menyesuaikan makna dengan konteks pribadi, sementara resepsi oposisi menolak makna dominan atau menginterpretasikannya secara berbeda (humor/kritis). Studi ini berkontribusi pada pemahaman hubungan musik dan identitas emosional generasi muda, serta peran musik sebagai media refleksi dan penyembuhan.

Abstract

Peran pemuda sebagai generasi penerus bangsa sangat penting dalam mendorong kemajuan berbagai sektor, termasuk ekonomi. Karang Taruna hadir sebagai wadah pembinaan dan pemberdayaan pemuda untuk mengembangkan potensi lokal melalui penguatan sektor UMKM. Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan bagaimana komunikasi organisasi dijalankan oleh Karang Taruna Kecamatan Setiabudi, Jakarta Selatan, dalam meningkatkan dan mengembangkan UMKM binaan. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara mendalam kepada pengurus Karang Taruna dan pelaku UMKM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi internal dilakukan melalui rapat rutin, pemetaan potensi anggota, serta pemanfaatan media digital. Komunikasi dua arah antara pengurus dan pelaku UMKM membentuk hubungan kerja partisipatif dan responsif. Sinergi antara kepentingan individu dan visi organisasi menjadi faktor utama keberhasilan program, menjadikan Karang Taruna mitra strategis dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of PTPN IV PKS Tinjowan's Public Relations in supporting the implementation of the CorporateSocial Responsibility (CSR) program and its relevance to meeting the needs ofthe surrounding community. The focus of the study includes identifying the types of CSR programsimplemented, their level of suitability to the needs of residents, the sustainability oftheir implementation, as well as the obstacles and strategies for overcoming them by the Public Relations department.The research method used is qualitative with a case study approachthrough interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the studyshow that PTPN IV PKS Tinjowan has implemented a number of CSR programsin the fields of education, health, infrastructure, and social community.However, some of the programs have not fully addressed the priority needs ofthe community due to the lack of community involvement in the planning stage. In addition, there are programs that are short-term and not yet integrated with thecompany's long-term plans. The main obstacles faced by public relations includebudget constraints, weak coordination between departments, and barriers tocommunication with the community. As a solution, public relations should increase participatory approaches with residents, strengthen internal company synergy,and propose programs based on data on community needs. This studyemphasizes the importance of the role of public relations as a communication link betweencompanies and the community in realizing beneficial and sustainable CSR programs.

Abstract

In an organization, interpersonal communication plays an important role in building effective working relationships among employees. At BPJS Kesehatan Padang Branch, the complex work dynamics demand open, empathetic, and mutually understanding communication to maintain a conducive. Work motivation plays a crucial role in determining the level of productivity and employee loyalty to the institution. This study aims to examine the relationship between interpersonal communication and employee work motivation at BPJS Kesehatan Padang Branch. Interpersonal communication is one of the key factors in creating a comfortable work environment. High work motivation is essential for employees to perform their duties optimally and contribute to achieving the organization's goals. This research uses a quantitative method with a correlational approach. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires to 47 respondents who are active employees of BPJS Kesehatan Padang Branch. The data analysis technique used is the Pearson Product Moment correlation test to determine the relationship between variables. The results of the study show that there is a positive and significant relationship between interpersonal communication and employee work motivation. This is evidenced by the statistical test results showing a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a positive and significant correlation. Therefore, it can be concluded that H₁ is accepted, with a correlation coefficient of 0.497, which indicates a moderate level of relationship between the variables. The better the interpersonal communication among employees, the higher their work motivation. The conclusion of this study is that interpersonal communication has a significant relationship with employee work motivation. Therefore, the institution needs to continuously encourage the establishment of open and harmonious communication in the workplace to create a more conducive work atmosphere. These findings reinforce the notion that effective and open workplace communication can enhance employee morale, loyalty, and overall performance.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the marketing communication strategy used by Relone Arena, a mini soccer facility in Padang City, in building Brand Image through social media, especially Instagram Relone Arena faces a number of problems, including the failure to consistently achieve its target of 200 hours of field rental per month, low brand awareness among the public, and inconsistency in promotional content on Instagram in terms of both frequency and visual quality. Based on the We Are Social report (2024), Instagram is included in the top five most used social media in Indonesia, making it a potential platform in reaching target audiences, especially the younger generation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that Relone Arena has implemented eight integrated marketing communication strategies, namely advertising, sales promotion, event organization, public relations, direct marketing, interactive marketing, word of mouth, and personal selling. These strategies succeeded in forming a positive Brand Image as a premium sports venue and friendly service. However, the utilization of Instagram features such as paid advertisements and live broadcasts still needs to be improved to maximally expand audience reach.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the communication strategy implemented by the Padang City Environmental Agency (DLH) in increasing public awareness about preventing water pollution in the Batang Arau River. The Batang Arau River is one of the important water resources in Padang City that faces pollution problems due to industrial waste and domestic waste activities. Using a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with DLH officials, field observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the Padang City DLH implemented a persuasive communication strategy through direct approaches such as socialization, counseling, and community-based education, as well as indirect approaches through social media, billboards, and environmental campaigns. The communication strategy applied refers to a participatory communication model by involving community leaders, river care communities, and educational institutions. Obstacles found were a lack of public awareness, budget limitations, and low consistency of supervision. In conclusion, the Padang City DLH communication strategy is quite effective in increasing public awareness, although it still requires strengthening in the aspects of active community participation and cross-sector collaboration. This research is expected to provide input for the development of more innovative, sustainable, and community participation-based environmental communication strategies.

Abstract

This research examines women’s involvement in the 2024 Regional Head Election in Kendari City, where two female candidates ran for mayor. The research problem focuses on how the concept of emancipation can be understood through feminist and Marxist perspectives in the context of local politics. The objective of this research is to analyze to what extent women’s participation in the election represents substantive political emancipation rather than symbolic representation. The research employs a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data were collected from books, journals, and online sources, then analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Theoretical frameworks include emancipation, feminism, and Marxism. Feminism emphasizes gender equality and substantive representation, while Marxism highlights class relations and economic-political domination in electoral processes. The findings reveal that although the presence of female candidates reflects progress in political participation, their involvement remains dominated by political elites and family dynasties. Consequently, women’s representation in Kendari’s election is more formal and symbolic than substantive. The research concludes that women’s political emancipation in Kendari still faces structural barriers of patriarchy and oligarchy. True emancipation can only be achieved if women build independent political bases, strengthen gender solidarity, and challenge class domination.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the construction of beauty standards in the film The Ugly Stepsister released in 2025 and how these standards influence the identity formation of the main character. The research is based on the view that media plays an important role in shaping social perceptions of beauty. The film illustrates the pressure experienced by women to conform to the ideal physical appearance valued in Norwegian society. The method used is Roland Barthes’ semiotics from 1976 which consists of the stages of denotation, connotation and myth, with data collected through direct observation of several key scenes in the film. The findings show that Elvira’s actions such as removing her braces, undergoing nose surgery, engaging in extreme weight loss practices and applying eyelash extensions represent efforts to meet culturally institutionalized beauty standards. Using Stuart Hall’s representation theory from 1997 the study finds that the film not only presents reality but also constructs beauty as something that must be achieved through physical modification. The study concludes that The Ugly Stepsister demonstrates the strong social pressure placed on women to fulfill certain beauty expectations. Therefore critical awareness is needed in understanding media constructions so that women do not become trapped in oppressive aesthetic demands.

Abstract

A competency based personnel system has become one of the effective approaches to enhancing bureaucratic effectiveness and improving the quality of public services. This approach emphasizes the placement and development of employees based on the alignment between their qualifications, skills, and job requirements, thereby enabling each individual to contribute optimally to the achievement of organizational performance. This study aims to analyze the implementation of a competency based personnel system at the Padang Barat Sub-district Office, its impact on employee performance, and the strategies applied to address budget limitations. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and analysis of official documents such as performance reports, organizational charts, and training records. The findings indicate that the implementation of the competency-based system is carried out through Job Analysis and Workforce Needs Analysis as the basis for assigning employees according to their qualifications and competencies. Although formal development through training programs remains limited due to budget constraints, the subdistrict leadership has optimized non-formal coaching through weekly meetings, mentoring, and the utilization of digital platforms such as e-Performance. The implementation of this system has proven to enhance discipline, responsibility, work efficiency, and the quality of public services, as reflected in faster service delivery and increased public satisfaction. Therefore, the application of a competency-based personnel system at the Padang Barat Subdistrict Office can be considered effective in improving both individual and organizational performance, and in supporting the realization of professional, adaptive, and service-oriented governance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of interpersonal communication intensity within family WhatsApp groups on university students’ self-confidence levels. The research is motivated by the shift in family communication patterns in the digital era, where WhatsApp serves as a primary medium for exchanging information, providing emotional support, and maintaining daily interaction. A quantitative survey method was employed, involving 100 students who met the criteria of being members of a family WhatsApp group for at least six months and actively engaging in communication. The research instrument measured two variables—interpersonal communication intensity and student self-confidence—both of which were tested for validity and reliability. The results of the regression analysis indicate that interpersonal communication within family WhatsApp groups has a positive and significant effect on students’ self-confidence. Higher levels of communication frequency, responsive interaction, and emotional closeness within the group contribute to increased student self-confidence. These findings affirm that digital family communication continues to play an essential role in supporting students’ psychological development.
