Najah: Journal of Research and Community Services is a scientific multidisciplinary journal published by Kalam Nusantara Center Research as one of the research institution in Universitas Islam Zainul Hasan Genggong . It is at the national level that covers a lot of common problems or issues related to community services. The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate the conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved and or its implication. Journal of Research and Community Services encompasses research articles, original research report, reviews, and scientific commentaries in education, including Education for Human Resources Development, Community Empowerment, Social Entrepreanurship, and nonformal or informal education. This journal will be published four times in a year (March, June, September and December).

Abstract

The Smart Action Training held at SMK Hafshawaty Zainul Hasan Genggong Probolinggo on November 27-28, 2023 aims to improve students' skills and competencies in facing the challenges of an increasingly competitive world of work. The program is designed as an effort to combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice, so as to produce graduates who are ready to work and have high competitiveness. The training includes various modules covering the development of soft skills such as effective communication, teamwork, and leadership, as well as the enhancement of hard skills relevant to each student's vocational field. The training methodology involves interactive lectures, simulations, group discussions, and practical projects directed by industry experts and practitioners. Evaluation of the training outcomes showed significant improvements in participants' technical and non-technical skills. In addition, feedback from students and instructors indicated that the program was very effective in motivating students to learn more vigorously and be solution-oriented. The conclusion of this training is that the integration of smart action in the vocational education curriculum can make a positive contribution to the development of students' competencies and their readiness to enter the workforce.

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat merupakan program yang bernilai luhur karena banyak tugas yang harus di laksankan demi kepentingan kemajuan desa.desa guyangan merupakan wilayah dengan beberapa PR yang harus ditunaikan untuk mencapai level kesejahteraan dan tentunya ini membutuhkan banyak rasa partisipasi dan kolaborasi yang melibatkan seluruh organisasi pemerintahan dan tenaga Pendidikan karena desa pastinya membutuhkan komunikasi dan tranformasi yang intens sehingga tidak terjadi ketimpangan social secara terus menerus akibat kesalahpahamaan Masyarakatnya. Abstract

Pengembangan usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) di sektor pertanian, seperti usaha petani cabai, menjadi kunci penting dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi dan keselarasan sosial di tingkat lokal, terutama di desa-desa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi meningkatkan UMKM para petani melalui pendekatan moderasi beragama guna mencapai kesejahteraan ekonomi dan keselarasan sosial di Desa Pendil. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan ABCD (Aset Based Community Development) dengan observasi langsung, dokumentasi, dan wawancara kepada petani cabai. Artikel ini mengulas strategi yang diusulkan untuk meningkatkan UMKM petani cabai dengan menerapkan pendekatan moderasi beragama di Desa Pendil. Pendekatan ini mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai agama dengan prinsip-prinsip ekonomi yang sehat untuk mencapai tujuan pembangunan yang berkelanjutan. Dengan tinjauan teoritis yang cermat, artikel ini menjelaskan konsep moderasi beragama dan relevansinya dalam pembangunan ekonomi dan sosial. Selain itu, melalui implementasi praktis, artikel ini memberikan pandangan tentang potensi pendekatan moderasi beragama dalam meningkatkan UMKM petani cabai serta dampaknya terhadap kesejahteraan ekonomi dan keselarasan sosial di tingkat desa.

Abstract

Moderasi beragama ialah konsep dinamis dari apa yang kita lihat belom tentu benar dan juga belom tentu salah tergantung dari sudut pandang orang lain.nilai nilai moderasi beragama sangat penting bagi anak usia dini khususnya pada anak anak terpencil di perbukitan desa ranu wurung untuk kehidupan mereka berkelanjutan nantinya. tujuan pengabdian ini ialah untuk menerapkan nilai nilai moderasi beragama pada anak anak terpencil di perbukitan desa ranu wurung. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode ABCD (Asset Based Community Devoplement) yang mana metode ini memfokuskan pada pemetaan asset Masyarakat sekitar baik itu berupa budaya, fisik, ataupun sosial lainnya. Lalu dari beberapa aset tersebut nantinya akan di pilih salah satu aset yang cocok untuk di kembangkan. Hasil pengabdian Masyarakat ialah anak anak terpencil di perbukitan desa ranu wurung sudah mempunyai sikap saling menghargai dan menerima pendapat orang lain meski itu semua tidak 100% di miliki oleh setiap anak, Bahkan mereka sudah bisa menerapkannya dalam kehidupan sehari hari

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of WRAP (Writing Assistance via Prompting) technique in improving writing skills among university students. The WRAP technique, which utilizes the help of writing prompts to facilitate the writing process, has been identified as a potential tool to effectively improve writing skills. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method to understand university students' experiences and perceptions of this technique. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and analysis of participants' writing documents. The results showed that the WRAP technique can improve students' creativity, confidence, and writing structure. Participants reported improved abilities in organizing ideas and overcoming writer's block. In addition, the technique also facilitated constructive feedback, allowing students to develop writing skills iteratively. The findings suggest that the integration of the WRAP technique in the writing curriculum can provide significant benefits to the development of students' academic writing skills. This study concludes that the use of the WRAP technique as a pedagogical tool needs to be further considered to support writing learning at the higher education level.

Abstract

The development of community capabilities is often related to limited access to adequate educational resources. The Inovasify platform emerges as a solution that offers free learning to support the transformation of people's innovative capabilities. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of Inovasify Platform in achieving this goal. The research methods used include a quantitative approach through a survey of platform users and an in-depth interview and content analysis of the platform. The results showed that the use of Inovasify significantly increased innovation knowledge and skills among users. In addition, it shows that providing access to free learning through digital technology can play an important role in empowering communities and driving socio-economic transformation. The findings indicate that the Inovasify Platform is effective as a free learning tool capable of transforming people's innovative capabilities, while promoting educational inclusion in the digital era.

Abstract

This research aims to implement an AI-based chatbot as a virtual assistant to support information services at Nurul Jadid University. The chatbot is designed using the Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) algorithm, a deep learning model capable of understanding and responding to conversations naturally. With this chatbot, it is expected to improve the efficiency and effectiveness in providing information to the public, as well as being the first step for Nurul Jadid University in utilizing AI technology to improve service quality. Furthermore, this research will also analyze the extent to which AI-based chatbots can help reduce the workload of administrative staff in answering questions frequently asked by the public and prospective students. The chatbot is expected to be the first line of defense in answering basic questions, allowing administrative staff to focus on more complex tasks. The results of this research are expected to be a reference for other universities in implementing AI-based chatbots to improve information and communication services with the community.

Abstract

Durian (Durio zibethinus) is a popular tropical fruit in Indonesia, including in Probolinggo Regency. In addition to its delicious meat, durian seeds can also be utilized as food. Durian seeds contain carbohydrates, proteins, minerals, and fiber that are good for health. However, the utilization of durian seeds is still limited to be thrown into waste. This study aims to examine the processing of durian seeds into food products that can be of economic value. The methods used include cleaning, boiling, peeling, slicing, drying, pulverizing and processing. The results showed that durian seeds can be processed into food products that have good texture, aroma and taste. Processing durian seeds into flour is used as an ingredient for making food products. While processing into Durian Cookies can be a healthy alternative snack. In conclusion, durian seeds have great potential to be developed into food products with high economic value and nutrition. Durian seed processing needs to be continuously studied and developed in order to increase its utilization in Indonesia.

Abstract

At PT. Cemerlang Unggas Lestari, the mass death of 12,563 chickens over the past two years has negatively impacted company revenue, primarily due to disease outbreaks and declining poultry health. The limited knowledge of farmers about poultry diseases has exacerbated the situation. As a solution, the development of an expert system using the FK-NN (Fuzzy K-Nearest Neighbors) method can assist in diagnosing diseases and providing treatment guidance. This system operates by inputting observed symptoms to identify potential diseases. Testing 12 diseases and 42 symptoms using a dataset from the Central Java Livestock and Animal Health Department. This expert system is expected to reduce chicken mortality, enhance farmers' knowledge, and improve operational efficiency in poultry farming.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of the "CIBERCANTIK" learning method in improving the language skills of sixth-grade students on fictional text material at SDN Tegalrejo. This method combines the use of information and communication technology with an active learning approach. This study involved 16 students as research subjects. Data was collected through participant observation and written tests. Quantitative data was analyzed using statistical tests, while qualitative data was analyzed thematically. The results showed an improvement in students' language skills after the implementation of the "CIBERCANTIK" method, as evidenced by a significant increase in various aspects of students' language skills, such as the ability to comprehend texts, analyze intrinsic elements, and express ideas orally and in writing. This is supported by the results of statistical tests that show a significant difference between the pre-test scores (M = 68.75, SD = 14.66) and post-test scores (M = 80.63, SD = 11.24). Therefore, it can be concluded that the "CIBERCANTIK" learning method is effective in improving the language skills of sixth-grade students in understanding fictional texts.
