Abstract

Entrepreneurial character plays a crucial role in shaping a creative, innovative, and independent young generation. One effective way to cultivate this character is through the utilization of handicrafts. This community service activity explores the impact of handicrafts, specifically through direct training in making tumbler bags, in fostering entrepreneurial characteristics among young people. Conducted at SMA Pangeran Antasari, located on Jalan Veteran No. 1060/19, Helvetia, Labuhan Deli District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, this initiative demonstrates that involvement in handicraft-making encourages self-reliance, creativity, and economic awareness—essential traits for future entrepreneurs. By leveraging handicrafts as a medium for entrepreneurship, young people can develop valuable skills that empower them to build sustainable businesses and contribute to economic growth.

Abstract

Creativity is the process of turning new and innovative ideas into tangible results, practices and solutions. This is an important component of entrepreneurship, because individuals must be creative to identify and exploit opportunities. Where existing opportunities can be a solution for the community to meet their daily needs, especially for teenagers who have an interest and intention in building their business. Where high school level teenagers usually lack motivation to develop themselves. This community service activity is aimed at teenagers at high school level with the aim of motivating them to develop their creativity so that it is hoped that young entrepreneurs will emerge who will strengthen MSMEs in Indonesia. The methods used in this community service include presentations and questions and answers so that participants can better understand the topic and be motivated to develop their creativity. The results of this activity were quite satisfactory, with several participants starting to open small businesses such as selling snacks made by themselves in the school environment and in their home environment

Abstract

Pajak Pertambahan Nilai (PPN) merupakan salah satu instrumen utama penerimaan negara yang penerapannya sangat bergantung pada pemahaman wajib pajak, khususnya terkait penentuan Dasar Pengenaan Pajak (DPP) dan penerbitan Faktur Pajak. Namun demikian, di tingkat masyarakat dan pelaku usaha kecil masih dijumpai keterbatasan literasi perpajakan yang berdampak pada kesalahan administrasi dan rendahnya kepatuhan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat Desa Klambir Lima Kebun mengenai konsep PPN, dasar hukum, penentuan DPP, serta mekanisme Faktur Pajak sesuai ketentuan terbaru. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif melalui ceramah, diskusi, dan workshop praktik perhitungan DPP PPN. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap penentuan DPP PPN dan kesadaran akan kewajiban perpajakan. Program ini juga memperoleh respons positif dari perangkat desa dan masyarakat, ditunjukkan oleh partisipasi aktif dalam diskusi dan simulasi. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kepatuhan pajak masyarakat secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to enhance financial examination literacy among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Sidomulyo Village, Stabat District. The main problems faced by MSMEs in this area include limited understanding of basic financial examination, as indicated by inadequate transaction records, poorly organized supporting documents, the mixing of personal and business finances, and the inability to evaluate business financial conditions in a simple and systematic manner. The program was implemented using a participatory approach through socialization activities, interactive training, and direct assistance to MSME owners. The training materials focused on basic concepts of financial examination, identification and verification of transaction evidence, separation of personal and business finances, and the introduction of financial statements based on the MSME Financial Accounting Standards (SAK EMKM) as a foundation for financial evaluation. The evaluation results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of the importance of financial examination as a tool for financial control and business performance evaluation. Most participants reported increased confidence in managing their business finances in a more orderly and transparent manner. This program represents an initial step in building MSMEs’ awareness of financial examination practices to support more professional and sustainable business management.

Abstract

This community service initiative aims to enhance awareness and skills among the local population in Tawangmangu Subdistrict, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, Indonesia, in utilizing banana peel waste as a raw material for high-value economic products. As the leading banana-producing area in the regency, contributing tens of thousands of quintals in 2024 (Badan Pusat Statistik Kabupaten Karanganyar, 2025; Pantura Post, 2025a), Tawangmangu faces significant challenges in managing organic waste that poses risks of environmental pollution. Employing an entrepreneurship-based approach, the program trained participants to process banana peels into liquid organic fertilizer (POC), jam, and healthy snacks such as pudding and crackers, thereby promoting circular economy principles and zero-waste practices. Results demonstrated a 75% increase in participants’ knowledge and the potential for additional income through the sale of processed products. This activity contributes to sustainable development in the Tawangmangu tourism area.

Abstract

Awards for someone's performance and inspiring life are best realized in a biography. The biography of Mrs. Suhartatik, a modern Kartini who has contributed to improving the quality of education in East Java Province, was written by Dr. Mustakim, S.Si., M.Si. This is a fitting tribute, with the hope that it will serve as a medium to record the life story of Mrs. Suhartatik so that it will be immortalized in writing and can be read by current and future generations. The author had the opportunity to assist in designing the layout of a beautiful work that responds to the noble performance of the field of education, as a means of supporting efforts to achieve the national goal of developing superior, characterful, and wise human resources for a much better future for the nation through quality education.

Abstract

This community service program aims to implement character development management by promoting the values of peace, tolerance, and humanity among young participants through the Peace Poster Contest organized by Lions Clubs International District 307-A1. The activity adopts an educational and participatory approach by integrating human resource development management functions, including planning, implementation of value-based learning, and evaluation through poster assessment, feedback provision, and observation of participants’ comprehension. The participants are students aged 7–13 years, representing a critical stage in character formation as part of early human resource development. The findings indicate that participants are able to creatively convey peace-related values through visual media and demonstrate improved understanding of tolerance and harmonious coexistence. Furthermore, the involvement of academics as judges enhances the managerial aspect of the program through structured and educational evaluation. Therefore, this activity confirms that the application of character development management based on peace education is effective in fostering character formation and supporting human resource development oriented toward humanitarian values.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve service quality and operational efficiency of the Penggilingan Bakso Jawa Timur MSME in Batam City through the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) approach. The main problems identified include inconsistent grinding results, long service times, and high machine noise levels that reduce customer comfort. The implementation method adopts a participatory approach by integrating Voice of Customer (VOC), Critical to Quality (CTQ), and process improvement interventions, including the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), machine maintenance, workspace layout rearrangement, and queue system implementation. Evaluation is conducted by comparing pre- and post-intervention conditions based on operational performance indicators. The results indicate significant improvements in grinding consistency (≥90%), a reduction in defective products by 75%, and a 40% decrease in service time. Additionally, there is a 25% increase in the number of customers and daily revenue. The implementation of quality control and quality assurance has proven effective in enhancing operational performance and customer satisfaction. Therefore, the integration of QFD with VOC and CTQ can serve as a strategic approach to improve competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs in the food processing sector.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the marketing strategy of clean water services implemented by the Community Self-Help Group (KSM) Banyu Bening in Taman Kedaung Housing, South Tangerang, with a particular focus on building consumer trust in potable water quality. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. In practice, KSM Banyu Bening conducts regular water quality testing through a local public health laboratory as a form of quality assurance and as a communication tool to inform the community. The findings reveal that the effectiveness of the marketing strategy is driven by transparency in communicating test results, the intensity of direct interaction with customers, and the utilization of community-based media for continuous information dissemination. This approach has proven effective in enhancing consumer trust and strengthening customer loyalty toward the clean water service. The study offers practical insights for developing trust-based marketing strategies in community-managed clean water services.

Abstract

This community service program was designed to enhance community capacity in transforming discarded wooden pallets into practical and value-added products, specifically gallon storage racks. The program was implemented among residents of Kavling Kamboja RT.001 RW.015, Sungai Pelunggut Village, Sagulung District, Batam City, Riau Islands Province, with the participation of 35 community members. The initiative addressed key issues, including limited utilization of pallet waste and insufficient technical skills to convert such materials into useful and marketable items. The program employed a participatory training approach, integrating theoretical explanation, live demonstrations, and direct hands- on practice. Participants were guided through each stage of production, covering material selection, cutting techniques, assembly processes, and finishing. The outcomes indicate a noticeable improvement in participants’ practical skills and understanding of recycling-based production. Furthermore, the activity contributed to raising environmental awareness and encouraged the development of small-scale economic opportunities through recycled products. Overall, this initiative demonstrates the potential of community-based training as an effective strategy for promoting sustainable waste management and empowering local communities.
